A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis

Volume 14 Chapter 23: The Weakest

Volume 14 Chapter 23: The Weakest

"..." Keith was quiet as he watched them gorge themselves. Herrick and the others nodded to that statement.

Gabriel added, "We're able to make simple things. But when it comes to technical aspects, we can't compare to you, Keith." Knowing when the meat was medium rare or when the carrots were perfect. Somehow, Keith just knew all of this by instinct.

"That's because I cook a lot. If you guys-"

"We'll leave it up to you! This is your thing! We'll just be faithful eaters!" There were so many technical things; there was no way they would remember.

"..." Keith sighed.

Later in the night, Keith was prepared to go to sleep. However, he couldn't go to bed because, "Do you need my energy that badly?" Carolyn was hugging him tightly. It was that of a vice!

"Of course! I need all the energy I can from you! Do you know how much I missed you these last few days?!" These days had been quite difficult; Keith was always on her mind.

"..." Keith said nothing as he stroked her head, “Okay. There, there.” If he didn’t do this, Carolyn might explode. He was correct, and a gentle smile formed on her face as she snuggled into his chest. It was happy and full of content. There was nothing she needed to do but to savor this feeling.

"By the way, how good are you at using your magic?" It was clear that she had been working hard on it.

"I'm doing really well! I used intermediate star magic!" Carolyn pumped her fists, "I blew up the floor boss in one blow!"

"That's amazing. But is your body alright?"

"I'm alright." The princess nodded, "I should be able to manage it for four shots."

"That's good." That type of magic required an absurd amount of mana.

"Now, how are you feeling?"

“Hmm?”

“Don’t try to hide it; you're clearly trying something new.”

“Haha, it’s nothing much.” Keith grinned. But that only caused Carolyn to push him down. She started to rub his shoulders,

“You’re tensed on the shoulders.” Keith was quiet, allowing her to continue. She asked, “You should really let your time out and have a relaxing day.”

“I am.” “Working out and going to the cart doesn’t seem like taking a break.”

“Hah.” Keith smiled, "I will keep that in mind." As the two continued talking, Eri entered the room with Ruby and the other little ones.

"Papa! Sleep!" She had gone to Diana to play for a bit.

“Okay, goodnight.” “...Shouldn’t you go to your bed.”

“Nope!” Carolyn didn’t hesitate, and she draped his blanket over her, "I'm going to sleep here!"

"You know it's going to be-"

"Your bed is way too big to be cramped!" There was no need to worry about it, "And we could snuggle up together, am I right, Eri?"

"Yesh!" The fox girl didn't mind.

Keith shook his head as he also lay down. Eri slept in the middle of the two.

“Don’t we look like a happy family?” Carolyn whispered.

“Mmhmm.”

"...Are you sure Scarlet won't bust in?"

"No, you don't need to worry about that." Carolyn giggled as she snuggled together.

The next day, Arlo was minding his business as he looked down at his work. He was focused on the materials he had obtained these last few days. A lot of high-tier materials were brought over to him.

Because they were high quality, he didn’t have the knowledge to use them. This was not the end. It was getting more and more difficult since the others would get stronger. While he continued to think about what to do,

“Hello, Student Arlo.”

“...Umm, hello.” Arlo was slightly taken aback. This was the first time someone came up to speak with him. He had been minding his own business since he had gotten forward.

One student asked, “I was wondering if you could ask Keith to meet with us.”

“Eh?”

“Recently, my family has a business proposition for the north. However, I need the marquis' support to do anything about it.”

“I'm sorry about that, but I can't help you meet with him,” Arlo stated.

This only caused the student to further insist, “Please say something to him. I can assure you that my family's proposition will definitely make him a fortune.”

“But there's nothing I can do about it.” Arlo shook his head, “I apologize.”

“Tch!” The student's expression turned dark, “Do you think you can talk down to me?!”

“...”

“Oi, are you trying to cause problems for him?” That was when the representative called out, “Do you want to mess with him that badly?”

“...Think he's all of that because he's friends with him.” The student scoffed as he walked away from him.

Arlo said nothing. You don't need to tell me something like that. This had always been going through his mind.

The weakest. The one who didn't stand out in that group. Joining them was something that he probably used all his luck with. After classes, Arlo had headed over to the Ironhide workshop.
