Chapter 93 - 93 65 Jealous Criticism of Sneaky Crawling
Chapter 93: Chapter 65 Jealous Criticism of Sneaky Crawling Chapter 93: Chapter 65 Jealous Criticism of Sneaky Crawling She propped her elbow on the sofa, kneeling on the Cartier woven carpet, looking up at him. Meanwhile, he sat in front of her, his gaze lowered towards her, his presence so intense that it almost enveloped her.
Yun Yuwan’s hand was on his thigh; using it as leverage, she got up and sat in his lap. He naturally accepted her, as if his embrace had been waiting just to hold her, waiting to wrap her in his arms.
She whispered softly, “Why did you just get back, I’ve been waiting for you all day.”
“What have you been doing in my room?” Wen Yangzhi supported the outside of her thigh.
Her face beamed with satisfaction, “Lying on Wen Yangzhi’s bed, smelling Wen Yangzhi’s scent, looking at Wen Yangzhi’s bathroom, wardrobe, desk.”
In Wen Yangzhi’s hand was a lighter. He steadied her with only the last three fingers of his hand, the cold lighter pressed against the side of her leg, “Entertaining yourself?”
Her heart brimmed with sweetness, “But just thinking of you makes me feel so happy, being in your room makes me so joyful.”
Wen Yangzhi’s expression remained indifferent, yet he scrutinized her likes and tendencies:
“You find that worth being happy about?”
She kissed his prominent nose bridge, “Ecstatic, the handsome guy I have a crush on likes me back.”
Wen Yangzhi looked at her; Yun Yuwan smiled at him with lips curved, her eyes radiating love and joy, like an infatuated fool.
He simply reached out, caressing her head the way one might pet a dog, from the crown of her head, along the silky length of her hair to the back of her head, the touch implying a not unkind affection.
Being caressed like this made Yun Yuwan feel inwardly pleased, her whole body going limp, wanting to lean further into his embrace.
However, Wen Yangzhi’s cell phone rang at an inconvenient moment.
Yun Yuwan had just leaned against his chest when Wen Yangzhi picked up the cell phone from the coffee table.
It was a call from Jiang Jianqing.
As soon as he answered, Jiang Jianqing chattered, “For that dinner party at my place, I’ve given you an invitation, you can give it to your sister.”
Wen Yangzhi patted Yun Yuwan on the side of her buttocks, “Get down first.”
Yun Yuwan uttered an “oh”, reluctantly sliding off his legs, not wanting to leave the man she liked.
Wen Yangzhi walked to the balcony, instructing on the other end, “Give it to Zhou Fei, I’ll give you an address, have someone send it there.”
Jiang Jianqing was a bit surprised, “Why not go with your sister?”
“Zhou Fei is more suitable,” Wen Yangzhi stated bluntly.
Jiang Jianqing was a bit uncertain, “I think Zhou Xing has a bit of a crush on you.”
Wen Yangzhi replied coolly, “I think you have a bit of a crush on me.”
Jiang Jianqing laughed, “Been secretly in love with you for years, and you’ve found out.”
But Wen Yangzhi remained unmoved, “Secretly loving me is quite normal.”
Jiang Jianqing wanted to retort instinctively but realized he had no comeback.
Indeed, there were too many people secretly in love with Wen Yangzhi, from his peers to girls four or five years younger or even more. Once, at a formal dinner where high-ranking officials mingled, a young girl chased after him, asking why he wouldn’t give her a chance.
Wen Yangzhi merely glanced indifferently at her parents, who hurriedly came forward, apologizing and saying the child didn’t understand.
He was of the same generation as her parents, could be called Director Wen, uncle, Mr. Wen, but certainly not a subject of romantic interest.
When Wen Yangzhi said that secretly loving him was quite normal, it was a simple statement of fact without any hint of narcissism.
He wasn’t any less charismatic than he was at twenty, and now with age, his appeal was even broader; the same girls he could bewitch back then were still susceptible, and now the allure even extended further up the age scale.
At times, Jiang Jianqing wondered why he didn’t have that kind of allure as he aged. Was it because he was married?
Jiang Jianqing fired back, “Then I’ll send the invitation to Zhou Xing.”
“Mhm.”
Jiang Jianqing was inquisitive, “Why did you pick Zhou Fei, I remember you said there was another junior who was also very suitable.”
“The bank thrives in sunshine but declines in shade.”
Jiang Jianqing chuckled lightly, “What, have you started believing in metaphysics now?”
“Some matters require a woman’s touch, men can’t solve everything,” Wen Yangzhi stood tall and poised on the balcony, looking out impassively.
Jiang Jianqing assumed, “Oh, I got it, you and Lin Zhidong’s party are at odds, wanting to rough it up, so find someone who can talk sweetly and soften things up, right?”
Wen Yangzhi had deeper reasons for bringing Zhou Fei into the bank, “It’s not like that.”
In the room, Yun Yuwan discovered that Lin Chu had sent her several messages she had yet to reply to, but at that moment, she felt as blissful as a soap bubble soaring into the sky, smugly and arrogantly texting back:
“I also think, Wen Yangzhi super loves me, loves me the most.”
Yun Yuwan unabashedly flaunted her romance.
On the other end, Lin Chu felt like retching, “Damn, I really want to spit on you.”
Yun Yuwan giggled, “What, you’re drooling over me?”
What do you think?
