Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.614 Epic Dawn and other packs

CH.614 Epic Dawn and other packs

With the release of my first set, I was in the mood for some packs. And since my ‘Release Set 01’ was based on , I think I’ll start with some Epic Dawn packs.

Sure it will all be repeats, but I’ll hopefully still enjoy it.

Spoiler

As I said, nothing new. But Morphing Jar is always good. Next pack.

Spoiler

Yeah. Gene-Warped Warwolf is in this set. And yes, it was in the Release Set 01. And yes, it was popular in the tournament.

As was Gogogo Golem. It is a good wall.

That’s kind of cool. Utopia and Heavy Storm are both cards that weren’t in my Release Set. I didn’t want to print mass destruction cards like Heavy Storm, at least not yet. And I naturally didn’t want to release Xyz monsters yet either. So I got two cards you couldn’t have used in the release tournament.

But time for a set change. And I think I’ll return to the main sets. I want some new cards.

Starting with some .

Spoiler

Okay. Spellbook of Wisdom is new. And it can make a Spellcaster be unaffected by spells for a turn, which is great. And traps too, I suppose, but spells are more important.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Geargiarsenal is new. And it can special Geargia monsters, which is great.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Mahunder is not that great. An additional normal summon can be great in the TCG, but I don’t need it.

Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon on the other hand is great. I can easily get two additional materials on it, so I can just nuke everything my opponent controls.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Now it isn’t new, but I do wonder about Madolche Lesson. What skill would it give if installed into a person? Some sort of Etiquette skill? But I don’t have that skill, despite lessons in etiquette, so maybe there isn’t one. Could be something like Service, I suppose.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Madolche Waltz is kind of in the same book. Though it should just give the Dancing skill. … again, why don’t I have that skill? I suppose I only got the most basic of basic dance training, so maybe I just didn’t get to the necessary level?

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Spellbook Library of the Crescent just searches Spellbook cards. So good enough.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Generation Force is somehow new. One of those commons that just avoids the packs. And it is decent.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Gagagarevenge is basically just a Monster Reborn for Gagaga monsters. It does have the additional benefit of giving Xyz monsters a 300 attack boost, so it is sometimes better, so I might use it at some point.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new in the last pack. Though I did come up with a dumb idea with Cold Feet. I could give it to someone who doesn’t have Card Summoner, tell them to say Cold Feet, and boom, they can’t use spells for a while.

As I said, it is a dumb idea, but it could work. Against a moron. Or maybe I need to play up Cold Feet as some all powerful spell. Be all like ‘oh noes! My Cold Feet! What will I do now?!’

Okay. Enough of that. Time for a set change. Moving on to , and I think I’ll do 20 packs of that.

Spoiler

Hermit of Prophecy gains levels and attack each time a Spellbook is activated.

And Papa-Corn gains 1k if there is a Field Spell active, raising to 2200. Which is good enough. But more importantly, he is corn, so maybe he’ll make even better popcorn.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Mermail Abysslung is an attack redirector and an attack booster. So pretty good.

And Gagaga Caesar can manipulate the levels of Gagaga monsters. It is honestly kind of bad. I think it would be cool if the level modulation activated in the hand. Like you banish a monster, special summon Gagaga Caesar and then all Gagaga monsters become the level of the banished monster. That would actually be good.

Next pack.

Spoiler

The Humble Sentry is one of them bad cards. Why would I ever use it?

Tannhauser Gate honestly sounds like a Nordic card. I know it isn’t, but just that name makes me think of Nordics. But for what it does, it is fine.

And Spellbook Star Hall is great. Spell Counter generator that boosts attack of Spellcasters and even searches when destroyed. Just great all around.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Snow Dragon is pretty meh. Sure Ice Counters do … something, but it has to die to make those counters.

Unification is pretty bad. Again, it will limit me as well, so why would I use it?

Abyss-strom is fine. Mass Spell/Trap destruction is always nice. Though Heavy Storm is just a better version of it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Nimble Angler is great. … for TCG use. Dump it to the GY and you instantly get 2 Nimble monsters. Sure it has to go there from the deck, but still.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Grandram special summons itself if your opponent controls an Xyz monster. Which is fine in the TCG, but for me, I don’t need it.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Nothing new here. I think I’ll do 10 more, since Abyss Rising is the newest set I have.

So next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss … man you are bad. Like sure, lowering the attack of an opposing monster to 0 is nice, but because it has that ‘under 1000 life points’ condition, it is basically worthless. And it is too difficult to summon, since Shark Drake already needs 3 materials. With 3 level 4 monsters, you can get something way better than this.

Still a cool card to have in terms of collecting, and I do like how Shark Drake Veiss looks. That white and purple color scheme just works well.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Abyss Dweller is one of those cards. Those that really weren’t all that good when they were released, but became amazing later on.

For me though, it is pretty bad. Dead people don’t have effects, and neither do dead monsters. Unless Abyss Dweller can stop undead monsters. Then it might be really nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

Mermail Abyssturge looks cool, but the effect isn’t all that amazing.

Mermail Abyssgaios on the other hand is great. Not only does he prevent level 5 and higher monsters from attacking, but he can also mass negate effects. A great monster.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Madolche Queen Tiaramisu is nice. Shuffling monsters from the GY to the deck is way better for me than it is in the TCG, as it instantly removes any sort of summoning cooldowns. Sadly returning stuff to hand isn’t nearly as good for me as it is in the TCG, as it just forces people to retreat, but I guess that can be useful in some situations as well.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Bubble Bringer is nice. The attack limiting is fine, but the double Monster Reborn is even better. Sure it is situational, but so are all cards in these sets. The generic good stuff was printed way earlier.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Shore Knight is … not the greatest. But I guess he is useful, sometimes.

Next pack.

Spoiler

Lemuria, the Forgotten City is a common that has been avoiding me. And it is a Field Spell, so new Factory room. And as far as ‘Umi’ cards go, it is no Legendary Ocean, but Lemuria, the Forgotten City is still pretty nice.

Next, and last, pack.

Spoiler

Sadly the last pack had nothing new. But still, this second 10 of Abyss Rising was really good. 5 higher rarity cards in 10 packs is amazing.
