Chapter 17 - Bigger and Thicker, It Feels Good
Chapter 17: Bigger and Thicker, It Feels Good
Seeing the two of them chatting, Jiang Zhou quickly said goodbye, ready to leave.
Zheng Yu had now become a full-blown simp, and not just any simp, he was clingy and relentless.
Jiang Zhou had no desire to stick around and watch. It was best to stay out of such situations.
But just as he took a step, Chu Yuwei called out to him again.
“Jiang Zhou!”
“What now? Something else?”
Chu Yuwei bit her lip. “Tomorrow, do you want to go to registration with me? Our schools are on the same road, after all.”
Jiang Zhou shook his head. “Nah, I already made plans with A-Wei. We’re heading out together.”
“Can’t you change your mind?”
“Why would I?”
Chu Yuwei was a little frustrated. “It’s a long way. Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone familiar with you?”
Jiang Zhou thought for a moment. “No thanks. I’m afraid if the new classmates see us, there might be some misunderstandings.”
Misunderstandings…
When she heard that, Chu Yuwei lowered her head slightly.
Was he referring to the girl he liked?
Could it be… she also got into Shangjing University?
And they’d be… together?
“Alright, you guys go ahead and talk. A-Wei’s waiting for me up front. Once registration’s over, maybe we’ll get a chance to hang out.” Jiang Zhou left that line behind and turned to leave the women’s section.
At the same time, Zheng Yu’s heart was pounding like crazy.
He felt like Chu Yuwei hadn’t really been talking to Jiang Zhou just now.
She had been using Jiang Zhou as an excuse… to talk to him!
Yes, that had to be it!
Yuwei wanted to go with him but was too shy to ask directly.
So she asked Jiang Zhou instead!
Zheng Yu was thrilled. “Yuwei, how about we go to registration together?”
Chu Yuwei looked confused. “Our schools aren’t even in the same place.”
“But they’re in the same city! I can help you move your stuff, then take a cab to my campus.”
“No, my dad will misunderstand. He doesn’t let me date.”
Zheng Yu got a little anxious. “I can explain that we’re just classmates.”
Chu Yuwei shook her head. “My dad’s a criminal investigator. He’s super suspicious.”
“Then… then maybe don’t let your dad take you. You could ride with us instead?”
“I said no. You go by yourself.”
Zheng Yu felt something wasn’t right. “Then why did you invite Jiang Zhou?”
Chu Yuwei blushed. “Our dads were comrades in the army, and my dad thinks he’s a decent guy. Plus, our schools are close.”
“Decent guy…”
“Decent guy…”
“Decent guy…”
Boom!
Zheng Yu felt like he’d just been struck by lightning.
By the time he came back to his senses, Chu Yuwei had already vanished.
“Why!
“Why!”
Zheng Yu still couldn’t believe it. “I don’t get it. I don’t get this question at all!”

Meanwhile, at the checkout counter…
Guo Wei was growing more and more anxious waiting for the “big butterfly” pads.
At that moment, Jiang Zhou returned and handed over the items.
“Why is this ‘Whisper Night Use’? I thought you were getting the ‘Sofy Slim Fit’?”
“This one’s bigger and thicker. Way more comfortable to step on.”
Guo Wei suddenly understood, and a new light of admiration sparkled in his eyes.
Brother Jiang-ge was truly Brother Jiang, he even knew these obscure tricks.
He was definitely going to learn well from him in the future.
After all, this kind of knowledge wasn’t something school would ever teach you.
“But wait… why is there a pack of Pocket Magic in your cart?”
Jiang Zhou paused. “Oh, right. That’s what Chu Yuwei bought.”
Guo Wei didn’t believe him. “Come on, Brother Jiang, quit messing with me.”
“For real. I just ran into her in the women’s section.”
“Yeah right, keep bragging. Let’s see what other wild stories you’ve got.”
Jiang Zhou smiled smugly. “She asked me to pay for it, but I turned her down.”
“You’re a legend!”
As the two of them chatted, the female cashier’s face gradually darkened.
Seven years in the business…
She’d never seen two guys openly talking this perverted before.
If they kept spouting nonsense, she was going to call security.

At 8 PM that night…
Jiang Zhou came home carrying bags and bags of stuff.
He rested on the sofa for a bit, then started packing his things: admission letter, daily essentials, and a car key he had hidden away.
“Son, are you sure you don’t want us to take you?” Yuan Youqin brought over a cup of water.
Jiang Zhou took a sip. “It’s okay. I’m going with Guo Wei. This is my first step toward independence.”
“So the boy you like… is Guo Wei, huh?”
“Mom, do you get joy out of this? Guo Wei was just here eating dinner yesterday!”
Yuan Youqin rolled her eyes. “It’s just that ever since you graduated, you’ve become less reliant on us.”
Jiang Zhou stood up. “I have to grow up sometime. I already had my birthday. I’m officially an adult now.”
“You’re maturing way too fast. We weren’t even ready for it.”
Ready?
How could they possibly be ready?
I can’t exactly tell them I came back from the future.
That I wasn’t 18… but 36.
“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of myself.”
At that moment, Jiang Hongshan walked over too. “Our boy’s grown up. Let him make his own choices.”
Yuan Youqin glanced at him. “You two really are just alike.”
“Our son’s so independent. We should be proud.”
“Proud? If he doesn’t need me, what’s the point of being his mom?”
“Come on, honey. Don’t be mad. Want me to rub your feet?”
“And shoulders too!”
“Alright, alright. Whatever you say.”
The couple chatted as they walked back into their room…
Leaving behind the single dog Jiang Zhou silently feasting on a huge bowl of dog food.
But it was fine.
Jiang Zhou consoled himself.
He was heading to university soon.
He wouldn’t be the lonely single guy everyone could pick on for much longer.
He sat on his bed and casually opened his social feed.
The school beauty had just posted a status three minutes ago: “We’ve become the most familiar strangers. From now on, we’ll have our own ups and downs, our own sorrows.”
It was a line from a 1999 Sandy Lam song.
Lately, it had become popular again.
Probably because there were too many simps these days.
Jiang Zhou casually left a comment: “You forgot your pads.”
What do you think?
