As Danacus was speaking, Pannis abruptly waved his hand, his index finger tracing an arc in the air, releasing a crescent-shaped blade of energy from between his fingers, slicing through the air toward Danacus. Danacus remained sitting on his throne, watching the blade approach without changing the pace or falter in his speech, merely stretching out his left hand with fingers spread to block in front of him. Just before the energy blade met his palm, he gently grasped it, and against all reason, the blade, over a meter long, was held in his small hand. The clash of energies roared within Danacus’s palm but not a single shockwave was emitted.
