Chapter 1358: Section 1359: Nidhogg Demon's Metamorphosis
Chapter 1358: Section 1359: Nidhogg Demon’s Metamorphosis
There were hardly any people in the audience.
As Angel used an illusion to explain to Lyon, his actions also drew the attention of others.
Shan, included, took notice of the scene at the observation platform.
“Using an illusion to replay the battle, he must have a strong grasp of the illusion node,” Shan murmured softly, judging by that illusion alone, she could tell that the person’s strength was definitely not weak, “Could it be a contestant here to probe for information?”
After her match, Nausicaa had come over to Shan and, hearing her muttering to herself, couldn’t help but turn her gaze in the same direction. At that glance, she was stunned.
Nausicaa had encountered many apprentices from the Illusion Series and had seen illusions cast by different students, but the one she found most unforgettable was the illusion released by Angel.
Because Angel’s illusion contained a strange power that made the illusionary art all the more realistic, and it made those immersed in the illusion unable to find any flaws. It was said that this power seemed to be inherited from the lineage of the Illusion Demon Island.
Now, as Nausicaa watched the shifting illusions, she also sensed that strange power.
Could it be someone from Illusion Demon Island?
But, the only person from Illusion Demon Island who was still at an apprentice level was Angel, right? And the man’s face was not Angel’s.
As Nausicaa was puzzled, a familiar voice suddenly reached her ears.
Was someone using the Spell of Whispering on her?
Her expression instantly turned to utter shock, she looked around and finally, her gaze settled on the man who had cast the illusion earlier.
Step by step, Nausicaa walked towards him.
When she stood in front of him, Shan also ran over and asked in a puzzled tone, “Nausicaa, what’s wrong with you? Weren’t you going to register on the fifth floor?”
Shan noticed that Nausicaa was facing the man who had cast the illusion earlier, “Do you two know each other?”
As soon as Shan finished speaking, that slightly unfamiliar man spoke, “I remember a letter you sent back earlier, in it, you wrote that when you returned, we’d be surprised by your change.”
“David even speculated whether it might be that after the success of your bloodline fusion, your body would develop some strange features. But now it seems, there’s not much change?”
Nausicaa’s normally calm expression suddenly burst into a smile upon hearing this.
“David’s not wrong, my body did undergo a slight change, my current state is actually one I’ve deliberately suppressed,” Nausicaa said with a smile, “Are you planning to see my true form?”
“May I?”
The corners of Nausicaa’s eyes crinkled with a smile, “Of course, but since I’m unsealing my true form, it’d be boring not to do something fun.”
“What do you mean?”
Nausicaa raised an eyebrow, “Let’s have a fight. It’s been a long time since we’ve sparred, and I want to see how much you’ve changed over these years.”
After a while, Angel and Nausicaa took their positions on the private platform rented at the Infinite Battle Tower.
Shan and Lyon stood on the side of the platform. Shan still felt a bit dazed, was that man really Angel? Had it not been for Angel’s own admission and Nausicaa’s corroboration, Shan would have never guessed that Angel had used a disguise technique.
“He is Angel… did you just say you’re his brother?” After regaining her senses, Shan turned to Lyon.
Lyon nodded, although it was strange to him why that little girl was riding such a large creature, but after seeing enough oddities over the last few days, Lyon just gave it a glance.
Shan noticed where Lyon’s gaze went. She patted the large creature beneath her, a subtle emotion in her eyes, “My name is Shan, and I’m with the same Witcher Organization as Angel. And this…is Ganke, an Alchemy Golem.”
An Alchemy Golem? Lyon looked at Ganke with curiosity and indeed saw a metallic luster flickering in Ganke’s eyes. And there were obvious metallic patterns beneath its skin.
“I once had a servant named Ganke who was a living being, but in the end, he left. I missed him so much that I had this golem made,” Shan seemed to be explaining to Lyon but also seemed to be talking to herself.
Lyon looked at Shan and felt increasingly that this little girl was odd.
However, before Lyon could probe further, his attention was drawn to the commotion on the platform.
“I didn’t expect that, rare as it is to see you, we’d end up directly on the platform,” Angel said.
Nausicaa tossed her hair, her voice languid, “I’ve seen quite a bit of news about you recently. Given the rate you’re advancing, I suspect if we don’t spar now, by the next time we meet, you’ll have become an official wizard, and then what would be the point in fighting?”
Every time Nausicaa saw Angel, she felt as if his advancements were as effortless as play, his strength surging with just a few days out of sight.
This time, although sensing Angel hadn’t yet advanced to an official wizard, when she got close to Angel, the Demon bloodline hidden within her began to tremble ever so slightly.
This was the first time Nausicaa had experienced such a phenomenon since she had fused with the Demon bloodline.
Whether it was excitement or fear, she did not know.
“Didn’t you want to see my true form?” Nausicaa smiled radiantly. The muscles in her body slowly bulged, and a white steam began to cover her gradually.
When the white mist dissipated, Angel finally saw Nausicaa’s true form.
Her frame had grown slightly larger, her back sprouted black wings like those of a bat, a demon tail extended from her coccyx, and her feet transformed into hoof shapes.
Most importantly, she was enveloped in a faint layer of electric light.
It was as if innumerable glowing Lightning Serpents slithered around her.
“I told you my transformation would be significant. This is the aberration form of the Nidhogg demon,” Nausicaa said with a smile. Her face remained unchanged, but combined with her altered features, she radiated a fallen demon’s charm.
“Since I fused with the Nidhogg demon bloodline, I have never fully utilized it in battle, so you better be careful.”
As she finished speaking, Nausicaa flapped her wings and flew into the sky.
As the battle began, Nausicaa didn’t hold back in the slightest. Not only did the Spiral Magic Pattern stir up a violent hurricane, but a vast amount of Thunder Light converged as well.
The storm and lightning met, accompanied by the sizzling sounds.
Nausicaa seemed to transform into a graceful Succubus, master of electricity; with a light flick of her finger, arrows of lightning were born, aiming straight for Angel.
Angel moved swiftly across the arena, avoiding each and every arrow of lightning.
But Nausicaa didn’t seem to care, continuously unleashing a rain of arrows.
Lyon, watching from the side of the arena, initially thought this was an exercise in futility. Not only was she wasting her magic power, but she also couldn’t threaten Angel.
However, when thousands of arrows of lightning struck the ground, Lyon gradually sensed something was amiss.
Though these arrows were pure energy and began to dissipate upon contact with the ground, the electric light remained, interconnecting to form a layer of electric net on the floor.
And when Angel made his final dodge, as soon as he landed, he was enveloped by the electric net.
In an instant, bursts of electric light coursed over Angel’s body.
A flicker of concern passed through Lyon’s eyes, but it didn’t last long, because although there were flashes of electricity on Angel, they seemed to cause him no real harm.
Nausicaa narrowed her eyes slightly as she saw Angel move freely through the electric light.
Nausicaa knew that the electric currents wouldn’t significantly affect Angel, but what truly surprised her was that Angel had yet to use any Transcendent methods, withstanding it all purely with his physical body.
That was beyond Nausicaa’s expectations.
However, there was no change in her expression; the streaming electricity in the arena was not her final move.
Nausicaa swiftly changed her strategy. She gathered the electric light emanating from her body, fused it with the hurricane, and formed a small Thunder Light Sphere.
Initially, the sphere was only the size of a baby’s fist, but as it absorbed countless electric lights, it grew to an astonishing size in an extremely short time.
The Thunder Light Sphere, tens of meters across, even reached the widest part of this private arena.
At that moment, with thunder and wind in unison, Nausicaa held the Thunder Light Sphere with one hand, like a true Thunder God!
With a fierce shout, the Thunder Light Sphere descended from the sky!
Blinding white light engulfed everyone’s vision, Lyon could only hear the spread of electric currents. What changes had occurred in the arena was unknown to him.
When the white light had dissipated, Lyon immediately turned his gaze back to the arena.
The transformation of the arena was distinctly evident, with a dome akin to a “Domain Field” settled over the arena. Inside the dome, electricity ran wild!
And Nausicaa, having descended from the sky, now stood in the arena, locking eyes with Angel not far away.
“It seems the Thunder Light Sphere didn’t harm you; the strength of your physical body is beyond my imagination,” Nausicaa said seriously.
“Your Thunder Light Sphere wasn’t meant to cause direct damage, was it? Was it all for this dome?” Angel gazed at the dome covered in electric light, which oddly reminded him of the dome over Sleepless City.
“Correct.” As a bloodline user, Nausicaa naturally wouldn’t rely solely on a few long-range electrical attacks to secure victory.
She had acquired some talents related to electricity from the Nidhogg demon bloodline. Creating this dome was because within it, an electric field could be maintained for some time. In other words, when she was within the dome, all her attacks would carry the attribute of electricity.
“Be careful, I won’t hold back,” Nausicaa warned, then sprang into action.
Electricity sparked, and two figures instantly merged.
Lyon could no longer make out the movements on the arena, and even Shan frowned.
It was the first time Shan had seen Nausicaa fight with such exertion. Upon activating her bloodline transformation, her speed was comparable to short-range teleportation!
Yet what astonished Shan even more was that Angel could keep up with Nausicaa’s pace, relying solely on his physical strength.
Was Angel planning to stand toe-to-toe in the domain of close-range combat, an area where bloodline users excelled, with Nausicaa?
Rolling thunder resonated from the arena. Towards the end, even Shan was struggling to discern the details of their battle.
What do you think?
