Chapter 509 - 481: Furious Killing

The little girl's mother drank the healing potion, and her wound quickly scabbed over; her faint breath stabilized. Then, her mother opened her eyes.

"Mommy, Mommy, you're awake, you're awake," the little girl said excitedly as she wiped away her tears.

The mother quickly sat up and hugged the girl tightly, kissing her on the forehead as her eyes brimmed with emotional tears.

In her excitement, the mother's gaze fell on Lin Tian and the others, and she trembled in fear, shielding the little girl with her body and asked apprehensively, "You... who are you...?"

"Mommy, brother and sisters are good people, they're the ones who saved you," the little girl said in her childlike voice.

American soldiers often roamed the area, and Lin Tian didn't want to linger, so he took the food from Xiahou Qingyi's hand and handed it to the mother, saying, "We come from Huaxia and have some matters to attend to. Seeing the little girl was so endearing, we helped; we have no other intentions. This is food. Keep it and leave this place as soon as you're done eating; it's not safe here."

Lin Tian stuffed the food into the mother's arms and then led everyone away.

Holding the food, the mother stared at the departing figures of Lin Tian and his group, and then she came to her senses, urging the little girl, "Quick, thank the benefactors, thank them."

"Thank you, brothers and sisters, thank you, benefactors," the little girl called out.

They didn't look back, heading straight into the forest towards Iren.

"Over there with the commoners, kill them."

They had just reached the forest when they heard the raucous voices of American soldiers.

"Not good," Lin Tian shouted, turning back at once.

"Bang! Bang!"

Two gunshots rang out, and the mother and daughter, who had been eating joyously, were shot dead, collapsing to the ground with food still in their mouths and contented smiles on their faces.

"You beasts," Xiahou Qingyi said fiercely, clenching her fists. She looked at Lin Tian, signaling him to order the execution of these American beasts.

Innocent women, naive children—they posed no threat to them, and yet these men ruthlessly took their lives with two shots.

These American soldiers were unworthy of the title "human" and were worse than animals.

Remembering the little girl's innocent and adorable appearance, Lin Tian became furious.

There were about a hundred American soldiers in front of him, but Lin Tian was not afraid. His eyes turned bloodshot, and he bellowed a single command.

"Kill!"

"Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh...!"

Flying Daggers tore through the air; the five of them acted simultaneously, and in moments, more than a dozen American soldiers were hit between the eyes and dropped dead.

"Over there, the enemy is over there," the American soldiers shouted as they quickly aimed their guns at Lin Tian and his group.

Lin Tian used his Flight Technique combined with the Neural Response Speed Ability, increasing his speed to the extreme. In the blink of an eye, he was in the center of the American soldiers.

A military dagger in Lin Tian's hand danced like a dragon amidst chaos, a series of white flashes passed, blood spurted, and bodies dropped.

Slashing through soldiers like cutting vegetables, being in the very center, the American soldiers couldn't open fire and had to engage in bayonet combat with Lin Tian.

Xiahou Qingyi, Jiang Hui, and Li Chong also joined the fight. Xiahou Qingyi wielded her Qingluan Sword, beheading five or six soldiers with each stroke, while Jiang Hui turned into a three-meter-tall giant—each punch or kick ended the lives of three or four men. Li Chong activated his superpower, his arms covered in thick scales, and with gigantic fists wide as plates, he frantically harvested the American soldiers' lives.

As for Wang Ying, he stood still, his eyes scanning the entire battlefield, instantly shooting anyone who attempted to fire at them.

In under a minute, the hundred-plus American soldiers were all slain by the five, who fought with a thrilling satisfaction.

They quickly dug a grave and buried the mother and daughter together.

Lin Tian ordered, "Along the way, if we encounter American soldiers and it doesn't delay our mission or put us at risk, execute them on the spot!"

"Yes!" all four nodded in agreement, invigorated.

As they killed and advanced, by evening, they had slain more than six hundred American soldiers; compared to the casualties of the previous battles with Hedan, the American army hadn't lost that many men, but in a single day, they had inexplicably lost more than six hundred, causing them to panic.

At ten o'clock in the evening, as they saw Iren, Lin Tian said, "You four stay here and wait for me. I'm going to check things out."

The next moment, he turned into a shadow and disappeared into the night.

Half an hour later, Lin Tian returned, saying, "I've found Hast's location, but he is surrounded by numerous bodyguards, and I haven't ascertained their strength. We will stealthily investigate the strength of Hast's bodyguards, and afterward, we'll make our plan."

"Remember, this time we're just scouting. You must protect yourselves and not get injured."

"Yes." They nodded together and immediately began to move.

In the outskirts of Iren, within a sparsely populated forest, a few tents were pitched, housing the scientists and Hast, guarded by five thousand soldiers on the periphery. Beyond that, fifty thousand soldiers were stationed to extract oil.

Lin Tian effortlessly avoided the gaze of the fifty thousand soldiers. The five of them hid in the dense forest, watching the movements inside.

These scientists were America's elite, and the five thousand soldiers guarding them were part of America's elite forces. The defenses of these five thousand were indeed formidable, with continuous patrols, a post every five steps, and a guard every ten steps, protecting the tents in the middle like an iron barrel.

Add to that the experts concealed in secret spots; it seemed nearly impossible to kill Hast under such guard.

Lin Tian said, "Take action, and pay attention to our own safety."

The five of them dashed out like ghosts, taking cover in a trench and waiting quietly for the right moment.

A patrol squad of seven was approaching Lin Tian and his group, step by step.

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh...!"

Seven flying daggers whistled through the air with a piercing sound. The seven soldiers heard the noise but before they had time to turn around, each was hit in the temple with a dagger.

All seven fell simultaneously, without making a sound.

Lin Tian and the four others quickly rushed out, dragging the seven bodies into the trench and stripping off their own clothes to put on the uniforms of the fallen.

After that, they boldly walked out, impersonating the patrolmen as if nothing was amiss.

The five of them pretended to patrol, but their minds were not on their duty at all.

Ten eyes scanned rapidly, searching for hidden experts in the dark.

Xiahou Qingyi whispered, "72 degrees to the right and up, there are three strong enemies, at least with Mirror Breaking strength."

Wang Ying said, "There are snipers lurking at the four high points around us."

Jiang Hui added, "At least ten strong enemies are squatting inside the fence by the tents."

Li Chong reported, "Behind the tents, at least a hundred fully-armed American commandos are lying in wait."

Lin Tian noted, "The strong man sitting between the tents wielding a sword has at least the strength of Qing Mirror, he's their strongest."

Having roughly assessed the strength hidden in the shadows, Lin Tian and his companions prepared to withdraw.

Just then, another seven-man patrol team walked towards Lin Tian and his group.

"Just walk by boldly, they might not even notice us," Lin Tian murmured.

The two groups walked past each other, and initially, nothing seemed amiss. But after they passed, the leading American soldier sensed something was wrong since patrols consisted of seven members, but Lin Tian's group had only five.

"Stop," the leading American soldier shouted.

"Get ready to act," Lin Tian whispered.

He turned around and asked, "What's the matter? Is there a problem?"

"Patrol teams consist of seven members. Why are there only five of you? Where are the other two?" the American soldier demanded.

"They went to pee. People can't help it when nature calls, they're bursting. They've already asked for leave and will be back soon," Lin Tian replied with a smile.

"Peeing," the American soldier said angrily, "Do you know who's inside those tents? Do you realize how dangerous it is here? Are you aware of the heavy responsibility we carry on our shoulders? And you dare to pee during your patrol? Even if it's blood, you should carry on patrolling. Come on, catch them and take them back, report to the superiors and have them dealt with by military law."

His speech reeked of petty officiousness, a man who loved to tattle and show off, convinced of his own sense of duty.

Lin Tian really didn't understand, urgent matters required peeing too, right? If someone gets too antsy, they wouldn't even be able to run. If the enemy were to come, were they supposed to be cannon fodder?

Seven men quickly pointed their guns at Lin Tian and his group. Lin Tian yelled coldly, "Do you have any idea who I am, daring to point a gun at my head?"

"An irresponsible soldier, a brat who doesn't know how high the sky is or how deep the earth is, nothing but an ant," the American soldier scoffed.

"I am your granddad."

"Take action."

Working in unison, Lin Tian plunged his dagger into the temple of the American soldier, and his team swiftly killed the rest.

"Enemy attack, enemy attack...!"

The inside soldiers triggered the alarm, shouting loudly.

Wang Ying acted swiftly, taking a shot that killed a soldier, following with several more to take down the first ones out. The remaining soldiers quickly sought cover, not daring to poke their heads out.

"Break out."

Lin Tian ordered coldly, throwing a flying dagger that killed the soldier aiming the spotlight.

In the darkness, without lights, they were as good as blind. Lin Tian and his people rapidly escaped, with shouts and killing sounds thundering behind them, but their shadows eluded capture.

Once in the dense forest, the five shook off their pursuers and hid.

Xiahou Qingyi asked, "The enemy's defense is too tight, what should we do? We can't even get close to them."

"Exactly, just a bunch of ordinary soldiers are enough for us to deal with, not to mention that group of experts we just faced hasn't even made a move yet," Li Chong complained.

After thinking for a while, Lin Tian finally said, "Now, there's only one viable option for us."

Wang Ying eagerly asked, "What solution?"
