Chapter 164 - 164 164 Your Ending

Chapter 164: Chapter 164 Your Ending Chapter 164: Chapter 164 Your Ending “So, who’s in that body now, Faralis, or someone else? Are you still you, huh?” Miles said.

“But none of that is any of your business.” Taking advantage of the moment Miles was distracted, Chen Ke activated his murderous intent trigger.

After using it several times, Chen Ke discovered that the most effective way to use the murderous intent trigger was when the opponent was distracted. If they were mentally prepared, the effect of the murderous intent would be greatly reduced.

For an opponent like Miles, the current murderous intent trigger still couldn’t cause him any substantial impact, but with just a brief moment of distraction, Chen Ke could seize the opportunity to turn the tables.

Miles felt as if something was trying to interfere with his mind during that brief daze. The moment he snapped back to reality, he heard Chen Ke’s snapping fingers.

Not good, he thought to himself.

The next second, Miles was sent flying, crashing heavily into the outer wall of a roadside shop, knocking down a large chunk of concrete. His shield also flew out of his hand, landing seven or eight meters away from Chen Ke and reverted back to the Holy Diamond.

“It seems this is your finishing move, right, Chen Ke… What else can you do besides this?” Miles said with a smile, rising from the ground, his gauntlets glowing as if red-hot iron.

Like a gale, Miles charged at Chen Ke. It was now definitely too late to retrieve the shield. Gritting his teeth, Chen Ke summoned Faralis’s enormous sword, the Unyielding Fury.

He had only one second to react, to discern the direction of the opponent’s attack and then tilt the sword to deflect it.

This sword was indestructible, so it could absolutely withstand this attack.

Chen Ke hadn’t specifically practiced this kind of parrying technique, but he was clear on the basic motions, and the principle was rather simple.

When the potential energy of the opponent’s attack hadn’t yet transferred to oneself, using extra force from a different angle would deflect the opponent’s attack, achieving an effect of deflecting it without injury.

Of course, easier said than done. Even if one were holding a shield and performing a shield deflect, in reality, it wasn’t as easy as in video games. Because it wasn’t about timing, but the use of strength and choice of angles.

Miles’s fiery gauntlets, in Chen Ke’s eyes, were like a meteor hurtling toward him. Discarding all distracting thoughts, he tensed the muscles in his arms and chose the right point of deflection.

“Clang!”

In that split-second moment, he exerted force in his arms, holding the tip and hilt of the sword, and from the bottom left to the top right, he fiercely blocked the punch.

Striking the gauntlet between the thumb and fingers with the sword horizontally, he bit down hard and lifted it upwards, causing Miles’s punch to veer off course and brush past his face towards the empty air behind.

Miles looked at Chen Ke in surprise, unable to stop his momentum due to the inertia of his charge and punch. Having his power diverted by Chen Ke left his chest and abdomen completely exposed.

In an instant, Chen Ke recalled the Unyielding Fury back into the Holy Diamond, then made a thrusting motion forward, and the great sword reappeared, stabbing into Miles’s abdomen.

“Well done!” Miles exclaimed, grabbing the hilt of the sword embedded in his abdomen and headbutting Chen Ke.

Chen Ke hadn’t expected him to use this move and was hammered in the face, bleeding profusely from his nose like a faucet.

“You’re so pathetic, Chen Ke, that in the face of my experience, even with your unfathomable power, you can’t beat me,” Miles laughed heartily.

Chen Ke gripped the hilt of the sword tightly, trying to shove the great sword further into Miles’s belly. Yet Miles fiercely grabbed the blade, and even though his abdomen was bleeding profusely, the sword hadn’t penetrated deeply.

Stabilizing his stance, Miles turned his left hand into a knife-edge and viciously struck at the sword, attempting to chop the Unyielding Fury in two.

However, it was like striking a stone with an egg. When his gauntlet made contact with the great sword, it surprisingly cracked.

“This sword…” Miles gasped in shock.

Chen Ke sneered as he recalled his greatsword, stepped back, lowered his stance, and made a slashing motion with both hands. From the upper right to the lower left, he hacked towards Miles.

“Don’t use the same move twice on me,” Miles said, blocking the sword slash with his right gauntlet. With a short step, he moved in front of Chen Ke and launched a fierce punch towards his abdomen with his left gauntlet.

The searing hot gauntlet, combined with Miles’s brute force, burnt away Chen Ke’s white shirt, turning his six-pack abs into charred flesh. His entire waist and abdomen were scorched black. Moreover, it shattered his internal organs.

Chen Ke was punched into the air, coughing up a large mouthful of blood, his eyes actually becoming hazy… Chen Ke forcefully regained his consciousness. That punch just now would have killed an ordinary person.

The wound on his abdomen healed at a speed invisible to the naked eye, consuming 80% of Chen Ke’s lifespan.

With the severity of the injuries varying, the more lifespan consumed, and no longer like when he had just crossed over, when he could recover in 20 minutes.

For him now, lifespan was an amplifier for his Transcendent Skills, a resource to be consumed. If he was constantly forced to use his lifespan to heal, his combat power would plummet.

Miles, aware of Chen Ke’s healing speed, didn’t wait for him to react. A flurry of punches landed on his waist, chest, and head.

Miles was likely a professional boxer; up close and exchanging blows with him, Chen Ke couldn’t gain any advantage—his hands couldn’t keep up with Miles’s punching speed.

“Motherfucker!” Chen Ke cursed, taking a punch from Miles on the face. The flame burnt off half his hair and an eyeball and shattered half his cheekbone. But it also brought him a fleeting opportunity.

He flicked Miles’s bald head with his finger, and a force pushed down from above slammed him hard onto the cement ground, creating a large crater.

“Keep going!” called Lucina from the side. She picked up a Holy Diamond from the ground and threw it to Chen Ke.

He caught the diamond—it was that heavy shield. Chen Ke stepped on Miles’s chest while the other man tightly grasped his leg, flipping him into the air, readying a Rising Dragon Fist.

“Whoosh!”

The large shield materialized in front of Chen Ke. He snapped his fingers at the shield, and like a door being slammed shut with a smack, Miles was once again pinned to the ground.

Chen Ke landed right on the shield and snapped his fingers again!

“Arghhhh!!!!” Miles bellowed, his arms struggling against the shield, resisting the eruption of one hour’s worth of Spiritual Energy. As soon as the snapping stopped, he violently flipped the shield to the side. At that moment, Chen Ke leaped high off the shield.

Forming a reverse grip on the sword handle with both hands, he dove towards where Miles stood. With a flash of golden light, the sword reappeared, plummeting from the sky.

He couldn’t freely swing the sword now, but objects are inert, people are alive. If he couldn’t swing it, so be it. He only needed to make it appear in the nick of time!

Miles wanted to step back and evade, but he found that Lucina was clinging to him, preventing him from moving. He could only raise his hands to guard.

Faralis’s Unyielding Fury stabbed from the palm, pierced through the elbow, and impaled Miles’s right arm. Chen Ke cut forcefully, amputating his entire arm.

“Ow!!!! You bitch!” Miles cursed, his left gauntleted hand igniting into Flame, reaching for Lucina’s arm.

“Forget it.” Chen Ke made an upward thrusting motion and swiftly severed Miles’s left arm too.

Both arms, spurting blood, fell to the ground. The gauntlets flashed blue and turned into two Holy Diamonds.

“Miles, I told you, after one year, your ending would definitely be grim,” Chen Ke said.

“Did you say that?” Miles puzzled.

Chen Ke struck his head off with a sword, his neck spurting blood like a human fountain into the sky. The bald head rolled around on the ground several times before coming to rest, still bearing a look of confusion.
