Chapter 93: Both People Are Strong
[Son of a... this is... fucking brutal!!]
The Demon Lord of Envy, Leviathan, let out a scream.
It was the price for concentrating her authority to momentarily interfere with Asmodeus’ time-stop ability.
Each Demon Lord had their own proud domain, but even looking at it again, Asmodeus’s time-stop authority was just absurd.
It was only a single human using it.
And yet it was this hard to interfere.
If it weren’t Amayel using it, but Asmodeus herself in her prime, they wouldn’t have been able to touch it at all.
[I said it’s hard to hold! Are you doing anything over there?!]
Leviathan’s screech made Belphegor and Satan yell back at her, annoyed.
[Not yet! Hold on! If we miss this chance, it’s all over!]
The three Demon Lords had combined their power to detect the only moving being in the frozen world of time.
And then, by forcefully tearing into that time-stop, they opened up a space where their followers could be sent through.
While Leviathan was interfering with time-stop, Satan’s followers began to move.
[My followers are entering! Hold it, Leviathan!]
At Satan’s words, Leviathan turned to Belphegor.
[Belphegor! You?!]
[Don’t rush me, Leviathan. As soon as the saint moves away from Belia, my followers will enter.]
[Fuck, hurry up already!! I told you, I’m barely holding on!!]
It was because Asmodeus’s power had become unimaginably strong.
Even though she was only using a portion—just enough that a mortal like Amayel could bear—it was still bringing massive resistance.
[Just a little more. It won’t take long. He’s only human, right? He can’t possibly fight off over a hundred of Satan’s followers.]
Belphegor said it confidently.
She rubbed her hands together and stared hard at a single spot in the human realm—currently the only place where time was flowing.
[Yeah, Amayel. You can’t fight while carrying the one you’re supposed to protect, can you?]
Amayel sets Kanya down.
Then moves forward.
Just a little more.
Just a little farther apart.
[There. That should be far en—...?!]
And at the exact moment Amayel moved far enough from Kanya—
He vanished from Belphegor’s sight.
Satan’s eyes widened.
[My... Chosen One?]
An unbelievable sight was unfolding.
This was Lust.
A Chosen One of Lust shouldn’t be this powerful, right?
Even in the Great Celestial War, Asmodeus hadn’t been one to win through brute force—she fought using time-stop, striking from behind.
And yet—
What the hell was this scene in front of them?
Amayel had just crushed one of Satan’s Chosen with sheer force. That was how the fight had begun.
[Wh-What is this? Why is this happening? Belphegor!!]
While Leviathan disrupted the time-stop, preventing it from being used,
Satan’s followers would engage Amayel—
And in that opening, Belphegor would abduct Kanya, the vessel of Belia’s divine power.
That was the original plan.
But the entire operation was falling apart.
Amayel was too strong. Far too strong.
No choice now.
[Belphegor! Quickly! Grab Belia first!!]
[I know!]
Originally, they’d planned to act after Amayel had tired out or been restrained. But with no better option, Belphegor had to dispatch her followers immediately.
[Belia! Capture Belia, now!!]
****
[Focus, Amayel! FOCUS!!]
Kon was shouting inside my head.
Steam still poured from my body.
With thought acceleration from Absolute Hypnosis, Body Modification, and a 3000x increase in sensitivity, my body had become so strong and hyper-aware it was terrifying.
Everything looked slow.
Even the two knights, drawing their swords in horror after watching one of their own get crumpled—
Even the men aiming rifles and machine guns at me—
Even the black mages, raising their staffs to cast spells—
All of them looked slow.
My heart pounded.
So fast it felt like it might burst.
But Kon was maintaining constant, hyper-precise Body Modification, real-time adjustments I couldn’t even dream of replicating. That’s why I could endure it.
I inhaled deeply.
I felt the massive rush of air fill my lungs—
And then I moved.
The time-stop warhammer swung at another of the two remaining knights.
What scared me was that the guy reacted.
He raised his sword to defend.
But that was all.
With a sickening crack, the sword shattered—and the knight was crushed along with his armor, sent flying into the distance like a splattered insect.
One left.
Just one.
I was taking out the most dangerous ones first.
[Amayel!! SLOW DOWN!! You’re moving so fast I can’t keep up!! Your body mod can’t match that pace!!]
Kon was screaming, but I couldn’t stop.
Sorry, Kon.
If I don’t finish them now, I might not get another chance.
Wipe them out now, and things will be easier later.
I was about to charge the last knight when—
Suddenly, I froze in place.
Looking down, I saw my wrists and ankles being grabbed.
Sticky, blood-colored hands had emerged from the ground and latched onto me.
The six black mages were chanting furiously with their staffs raised.
“NOW! FIRE!!”
The followers took aim.
Like popcorn in a kettle, bullets rained down on me—dozens of them.
Most bounced harmlessly off the time-stop armor—but a few slipped through the gaps.
A searing pain bloomed in my side, like a drill boring into me, then faded as quickly as it came.
[Healed! You’re good, Amayel!]
“Thanks, Kon.”
[Please tell me we can win this! Please!!]
I don’t know.
Whether we can win—
Or more accurately, I hope we can’t.
I hope the Demon Lords get so pissed from all the foiled plans that they come down themselves and rip my soul apart.
3-on-1? Not even Asmodeus could save me from that. Right?
As I took a few bullets to the side, the last knight came charging in—his sword now cloaked in a dark red aura.
I easily blocked the incoming strikes with my boosted reflexes.
But my arms and legs felt heavy. Dangerously heavy.
Turns out the blood-colored hands had a debuff effect too.
If this kept up, I wouldn’t last much longer.
“Kon!”
[I know what you want! That attack, right?!]
“Please!”
The moment I spoke, the warhammer in my right hand began to shift and reshape.
It transformed into a long spear.
I gripped it tightly.
I slammed the knight with it, sending him flying.
Then I spun and aimed the spear at the black mages and followers still targeting me.
“Ready?”
[Throw it anytime!!]
Before he even finished, I hurled the spear with everything I had.
It tore through the air faster than the eye could follow—then split mid-flight.
A hundred smaller shards burst from it like shrapnel, scattering across a wide area.
Kon’s fine control and my brute strength had produced a monstrous result.
“Grkh!”
“Kuhhhk!”
Bulletproof vests or not—it didn’t matter. The sheer force pierced right through them all.
In an instant, most of the dozens of followers were shredded and collapsed like torn-up sacks of flesh.
The black mages, caught off guard, scrambled to cast defensive spells and couldn’t maintain the restraints they had placed on me.
Naturally, the blood-colored hands that had been clutching my body vanished as well.
[That’s it! Amayel! Now—holy shit!! LOOK OUT FRONT!!]
Before Kon could even ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) finish his sentence, a skin-crawling sonic boom erupted as a knight lunged at me.
I had no weapon in hand.
I raised the gauntlet of my time-stop armor and blocked the longsword strike with my forearm.
The moment the sword and the frozen-time space collided, a shockwave burst out like a mortar shell exploding.
My ears went numb from the pressure—but quickly returned to normal. Kon must’ve handled it.
A few exchanges followed.
As I fought, a fresh chill crept up my spine.
Three thousand times amplified reflexes.
A massively overdeveloped musculoskeletal frame.
This body was absurdly powerful—superhuman in every way.
And yet the man in front of me... was holding his own.
What the hell was this knight?
I tried counterattacks, swinging at his openings with my enhanced limbs, but strength alone wasn’t enough—I had no proper combat training. My hits never landed clean.
“Kon! I need a weapon!!”
[Making one now!!]
The broad time-stop zone dissolved, and another weapon began forming near my right hand.
This time, it was a sword.
A massive greatsword, thick and long—very similar to the one the knight was swinging at me.
I deflected his strike and seized the blade Kon had made—then swung it with force.
Same shape, same length—but mine was superior in every way.
As the two swords collided, a slicing sound rang out—and the knight’s sword was cleanly severed.
[Bwahaha!! I sharpened the blade’s edge to hell and back!! THAT’S what time-stop is for!!]
Kon, you glorious bastard.
That was some solid support.
“It’s over now!”
I raised the sword overhead.
And brought it down, hard.
The knight barely dodged backward, just outside my attack range.
But—
[You can extend it, dumbass!]
In that instant, the blade of my greatsword elongated violently, canceling the knight’s escape.
A horrific sensation pulsed through my grip—
And the knight was cleaved clean down the middle.
He collapsed, vertically split.
That was it.
The three strongest were dead.
Now all that remained were a few minor followers and the six black mages.
[Let’s wipe the rest quickly—Amayel!! KANYA!!]
Kon’s scream snapped my head toward Kanya.
Men in black.
The same outfit worn by the bastard who’d stabbed her heart with a dagger the first time.
My eyes widened.
“Ka—!”
I tried to run to her, but blood-colored hands surged up from the ground again and grabbed me.
And not just that—
“Hold him down!!”
Three black mages focused on restraining me, while the other three began blasting spells in my direction like madmen.
“Shield!!”
[On it!!]
Kon transformed the greatsword in my grip into a large shield and deployed it in front of me.
As the shield automatically moved to intercept the barrage of magic—
“Spear! One more time!”
A spear formed in my hand.
I was panicking.
If they took Kanya again, everything was over.
I rushed to throw the spear—
But the surviving black mages and followers, already hit by this tactic once, weren’t about to fall for it again.
They scattered in every direction, spreading out.
The priority was the black mages.
I clenched my teeth, raised the spear, and took aim.
At that moment—
[A-Amayel!! Kanya!!]
Kon’s shriek tore into my mind, followed by a sharp gunshot behind me.
From Kanya’s direction.
No.
No no no.
Kanya—
I jerked my head around.
And saw the complete opposite of what I’d feared.
[Kanya’s going fucking wild over there?!]
It was the last thing I expected.
Kanya was holding a handgun.
And with chilling precision—
She was putting bullets straight into the skulls of Belphegor’s followers.
What do you think?
