The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Alix was surely not expecting madam Qian again so soon, certainly not today. She had assumed that they would get into contact after she secured the necessary funds to purchase the school.

She did not show the surprise on her face and maintained a neutral look on her face.

"Madam Qian, it's a pleasure to see you." Alix smiled stiffly at the woman and led her into her office.

From the corner of her right eye, she noticed Jin Kang waving at her urgently.

"What?" she mouthed at her.

"Do you need help?" Jin Kang mouthed back.

Alix shook her head and mouthed, "No." Of all things she needed help with, dealing with madam Qian was not one.

She turned her back on Jin Kang, went into the office and closed the door which she normally left open.

"Is it true that you are pregnant?"

Madam Qian asked the question before Alix could properly sit down.

"No." Alix answered.

Madam Qian leaned back in the chair, seemingly disappointed. "Oh, I thought that maybe you were and the rabbit's foot had somehow helped you.

I would be much more confident if you had successful reviews for your rabbits foot. Speaking of which, that thing disappeared."

She played with a trinket on her bag nervously.

"I am sorry for being careless with it and I am willing to compensate you a small fee for it."

Alix scoffed and smiled. So madam Qian was capable of politeness and embarrassment. For a small moment, Alix considered tricking madam Qian into thinking that it was a big deal.

She changed her mind however, they were not on a friendly basis that she would need to tease her. Besides, madam Qian would only know the true value of the foot when she discovered that she was pregnant.

For now, all it was to her was a worthless toy of sorts and she would offer a few thousand at most for it.

"It's okay, it fulfilled it's purpose and it has returned home." Things which were given and stored by the gaming system would return to her magically unless she sold them off.

Madam Qian's face stiffened and she sort of shrunk herself in the chair. She looked at Alix as if she was crazy.

"Ha-ha, you make it sound as if it hopped away on it's own."

"Something like that." Alix confirmed.

Madam Qian's mouth trembled, whether it was in laughter or anger, Alix could not tell.

"Is that it?" she asked the woman.

Madam Qian nodded and picked up her bag. She moved her body forward as if she was to leave but she sat back down when she recalled something.

"Oh, do you play your songs in public?" she asked Alix.

Alix had not done it before. She never got the opportunity to do so before. but now that her fingers were healed, she would start soon.

"I do." she confirmed.

Madam Qian's face lit up and she looked at Alix eagerly. "Excellent, this weekend on Saturday night I am hosting my annual benefit at La Perie gallery. I always hire an artist to perform and I think you would be perfect."

"Your sister has performed there for the last two years." her system told her.

Alix 's eyebrows moved up curiously. When did the system start taking an interest in her life?

"I am your system, of course I know everything about your life." the blue elf answered.

"So, what do you think?" Madam Qian asked her.

Whatever she had said, the last few words, Alix had not heard because she was listening to the system.

"I didn't catch that, sorry." She answered.

"I said that I am willing to pay you two hundred thousand yuan to perform at my benefit. It would have been perfect if you could play that song which you were teaching your students but I know you won't because it's a secret." Madam Qian sighed.

Two hundred thousand just to perform a few songs, hell yeah, Alix thought.

"I am in, I have other impressive compositions, don't worry." She replied eagerly.

"Dress code is black tie. If you can convince your husband to attend I will be even more grateful and work harder to lower the price of the school for you. It's not for publicity but because he has deep pockets.

It's a benefit for children from orphanages and poor families. The money we get sponsors their education and welfare. We could use all the donations we can get."

She looked at Alix hopefully, waiting for a positive answer.

Alix could not make any promises however when it came to Zhang Caishen's attendance. All she could do was make a request.

"I will ask but don't have any expectations. He is a busy man, very busy."

Madam Qian still smiled as if what she heard was a yes. "I will take that over an immediate rejection. I will have two invitations sent here and I will be looking forward to your performance on that day."

"Yes." Alix smiled more amiably at the woman than she had been before.

After bidding farewell to madam Qian, she taught another class before leaving at two o'clock to see Tai Ho Sun once again at TFK.

When she arrived, he was pacing around outside of his office and looking at his watch every few seconds.

The same female employee who had brought her to his office previously was the one who brought her over again.

"Manager, I brought miss Lin." she announced.

Tai Ho Sun looked up from the watch on his arm and smiled broadly.

"Miss Lin, you are here." he said eagerly.

Alix lowered her head slightly and smiled.

"I hope I am not late." she said.

"No, absolutely not, you have arrived just in time. Please come in, there are some people who would like to meet you."

He literally pulled her into the office, overly eager to show her the unknown people who were waiting to meet her.

Inside his office, was one person who she recognized, CEO Tai Heng and an older man she didn't recognize.

With them was the master who certified her paperwork and examined the jade she sold to them.

"This is my father, he wanted to meet you because it's not everyday that someone who sold an imperial jade says they have something better."

CEO Tai Heng, acknowledged Alix with a nod of his head.

"This is my grandfather, Tai Sun, he is interested in the history of your imperial jade. He has many questions about how your family acquired it and how you kept it safe for so many years."

The older man with thinning white hair, in a pair of round spectacles holding a brown walking stick smiled softly at Alix.

After smiling back at him, she turned her stiff stunned face to Tai Ho Sun. Why didn't he tell her over the phone that this was a family meeting with a quiz on top?
