Chapter 47 47: A pervert for jewels
"Excuse me, can I please see your manager." Alix spoke to an employee in a beautiful jewelry shop that dealt in diamonds, gold, gems and all sorts of beautiful stones.
TFK jewelry, was where she went, choosing one of their biggest branches where one of the sons of the company owner operated from, personally.
TFK group was a company dealing in jewels, it was a listed company founded in 1954, among the best jewelry brands in the country.
It was sixth in place among the top ten jewelry companies in the country and fifty second world wide.
She came to one of their shops first because they had a long history, were known for their forthrightness and because they were the nearest to her work place.
The worker she approached was standing behind a jewelry counter. She was smartly dressed in her black and blue suit, with white gloves on her hand.
She smiled politely at Alix.
"Good morning, you are welcome to TFK jewelry. May I ask why you need to see the manager?"
"I want to have something appraised and then sell it off." Alix told her.
"I can take a look at it and make an appraisal for you, if you don't mind." The female employee said.
Alix put her obviously brand name bag on the counter and opened it slowly.
The female employee studied the bag, and then her wyes widened.
"Madam, I will take you to the manager's office."
Suddenly, out of the blue she seemed to have changed her mind.
Alix did not ponder on the reasons for the change, she simply picked up her bag and followed the employee to the office of the manager.
They had to take an elevator to the next floor. The building had ten floors, and all were owned and occupied by TFK jewelry.
The woman guided her into an already open office. She did not waltz in anyhow, stopping to knock on the door.
"Manager, I brought a client."
She stepped aside and presented Alix.
Inside the office, was a young man, he was looking at some papers keenly, holding them up for observation.
On hearing the words of the employee, he looked at the entrance to his office.
Alix recognized him, Tai Ho Sun, the third son of Tai Heng, current president of TFK jewelry.
His face was a common one on red carpets, award shows, fashion shows and events of such calibers. He always had a model, actress or socialite on his arm. That woman would be decked in TFK jewelry.
He was the one she had come hoping to meet.
As she observed him, so did her to her. He gave Alix a once over, from head to toe, trying to figure out what made her qualified to come to his office. She was dressed in a designer suit, her bag and shoes similarly high quality brand goods.
She barely had any jewelry on her, just two bracelets, one a pearl bracelet, old and forced to stick together. The other a brown beaded bracelet on her right hand.
His eyes moved to her ears, and he looked at the pink diamond studs which she had probably chosen carefully to match her pink and white pant suit.
"Re-ceer." he said.
Alix did not understand what he said, but the female employee seemed to.
"Come in." he said.
He put down the papers and sat down in a leather chair behind his cluttered desk.
He pointed at her ears and said, "The diamond studs in your ears are from Re-ceer jewelry. A part of this years pink feel line which they debuted two months ago. They cost two hundred thirty thousand yuan, and only thirty were produced. There are a lot of fakes circulating in the market but yours are very much real."
"Oh." Alix answered. "Thank you." she said unsurely.
"I did not pay you a compliment, I think we have much better jewelry here at TFK than Re-ceer. It gives me great pleasure to steal a client from a competitor." he spoke lazily and candidly.
Shrugging as if the everyday wealthy young woman who could afford the pink diamond studs in her ears, Alix casually said. "Well, hmm, you can steal me as a client depending on how our next business goes. I have a family heirloom which I want to sell, it's something I inherited from my mother."
In her mind, she was screaming, "OMG, OMG, I am walking around with two hundred thousand yuan on my ears. This is so crazy."
She had dressed nicely because of where she was coming, using the new items which Caishen said he had asked his mother to purchase for her. She did not know exactly how costly they were.
But, why did he buy her such expensive things? Was he afraid that her old and mostly mended clothes would embarrass him?
"And he would not be wrong. The wife of a billionaire CEO cannot go around dressed like the old you." the system told her.
"Lets take a look at that family heirloom." Tai Ho Sun put on the white gloves which had been casually laying on his desk.
Alix removed an exquisite green box from her bag. It was about the size of a box in which five luxury watches were kept. She opened it and exposed a green gem, which she then placed on the table.
Tai Ho Sun was like a pervert when he looked at beautiful gems, he admired the one in the box like a man suddenly overcome with lust.
"Oh my!" he gasped.
His fingers danced, as they went closer to the gem.
She had chosen to go with one of the gems dropped after she killed the guardian of the Naga queen's temple. The red diamond was too big to expose anyhow.
This was smaller and she could test the waters first with this sell. According to the system, she should at least get fifteen to twenty million for this one gem.
With that money she could take care of the music school's accommodation problem and still have money left over. Perhaps she would invest it in something.
"My mother said it brought incredible luck and protection to my ancestors. I think...."
"Shhhh!" Tai Ho Sun silenced her.
Alix pursed her lips and rolled her eyes. This Tai Ho Sun looked as if he wanted to make out with her gem.
"Imperial jade!!" he said, gasped. "Imperial jade, ha-ha-ha." He laughed and kissed it and caressed it gently as if it was a woman's body.
Alix made an astonished face and thought to herself, "What a weird pervert."
Tai Ho Sun looked at Alix and he shook his head, his eyes expressing myriad confusion.
"You don't look like someone that can afford imperial jade." he said. "Where did you get this?"
Trying hard not to be offended by his words, Alix calmly answered, "I told you, it's a family heirloom."
"Do you have any paperwork that proves this belongs to your family?" he asked.
TFK did not deal in stolen jewelry. Tai Ho Sun desperately sent up prayers, hoping that she had paperwork otherwise he would have to let go of this beauty and he really didn't want to do that.
Confidently, Alix took an old document from her bag. She was a woman with a system, how could a small thing like forging papers be an obstacle to her?
What do you think?
