Chapter 168: Chapter 168: Soaking in Water
Just a while ago in the hall, the main course had been served, and both Miss Ade and Su Qingtong had a small bowl of steaming porridge in front of them, its milky white color exuding the aroma of mushroom soup.
Miss Ade took a small sip, and her eyes instantly lit up, the delicacies brewed into the soup tasted delicious, and the porridge was also exceptionally scrumptious.
At the end of the dining table, Yao Qingzhi sat emotionless like a wooden block, with her eyes fixed and unyielding.
Without concern, Su Qingtong buried her head and ate bitterly. Miss Ade looked at both of them, then turned and instructed Song Ma to prepare another lunch, who nodded slightly before turning to start the preparations.
After the meal was served, Yao Qingzhi didn’t refuse to join.
Su Qingtong scoffed.
During lunch, Miss Ade and Su Qingtong talked endlessly, and silver-bell-like laughter occasionally rang out through the dining hall.
Yao Qingzhi finished her meal much quicker than they did and then just sat and stared intently at Su Qingtong, her gaze seemingly saying, if you keep dawdling, I’ll keep staring.
At last, Su Qingtong could no longer bear it, and stood up to tell Miss Ade, “I’m taking him to Lingcheng Mountain, and I won’t be back tonight. I have to go back and discuss some matters with Sister Liu.”
Miss Ade nodded, “Alright, you go ahead, and don’t worry about me.”
“Call me if there’s anything,” Su Qingtong said, gently rubbing Miss Ade’s head, her voice tinged with reluctance.
Miss Ade was also reluctant to let her leave, so she got up and hooked her arm, saying softly, “Let me walk you out.”
Outside, the sun was shining brightly, and the sky clear. They walked to the door hand in hand, reluctant to part.
“When you’re free next time, let’s go on the Ferris wheel together. I saw one on the way to Lingcheng Mountain a few days ago.”
“You like that, huh?” Su Qingtong’s finger hooked under her chin, “Sure, we’ll do whatever you want.”
Yao Qingzhi opened the car door, Su Qingtong ignored him and got straight in, the car window rolled down, “I’m leaving now.”
Miss Ade waved at her, “Bye.”
The car took the bridge, and only when it disappeared from view did Miss Ade turn to return to the hall, feeling suddenly quiet around her, and inexplicably lost inside her heart.
Seeing this, Song Ma suggested, “Miss Ade, would you like to go see a movie or go fishing outside?”
Cradling a pillow against the sofa, her eyelids heavy without interest, Miss Ade listlessly said,
“When is Qin Yu coming back?”
Song Ma responded, “Young master might not be back until tonight. If Miss Ade misses him, you can give him a call.”
“Never mind, I won’t disturb his work.” Miss Ade stood up, “I’ll go watch a TV series instead.”
Once in the cinema room, Miss Ade curled up in a spacious chair. The screen flickered relentlessly displaying a foreign science fiction movie about a monstrous sea creature fighting humans, the special effects were impressive, but the plot was mediocre.
The male and female leads kept biting at each other everywhere, from an initial flushed face Miss Ade became indifferent later on.
She eventually fell asleep watching.
It was an uncomfortable sleep, Miss Ade was woken up by the heat, kicking off the blanket covering her, her eyes wide open observing her surroundings, although the air conditioner was fully on, yet she still felt a burning heat inside her body.
It felt like a fire was burning within.
Supporting herself up, Miss Ade grabbed the juice from the table and gulped it down, an ice cube lingering in her mouth brought some temporary relief from the heat.
However, the ice cube couldn’t last in her mouth, and once it melted, the fire inside her body intensified further, burning hotter.
Her mouth dry, her tongue parched, it seemed as if the blood in her body was boiling, steaming with heat gradually drying out.
She looked like a thirsty fish.
Ah Da’s emotions were out of control, she began to feel restless as she lacked the energy in her limbs, and groggily pushed open the door of the video room. Staggering, she supported herself against the wall and stepped towards the entrance of the outdoor swimming pool, where she unexpectedly felt a chill.
She swallowed her saliva and staggered over.
“Splash~”
Her body entered the water, the cold water glided over every inch of her skin, soothing her heat, and Ah Da comfortably sighed softly, closing her eyes and letting her body sink to the bottom.
When Song Ma brought the chopped fruit into the video room and found no one there, she was so frightened that she immediately went out to ask. But the servants all said they hadn’t seen her, and immediately organized a search around the area.
Luckily, it wasn’t long before they found Ah Da in the pool. Song Ma breathed a sigh of relief and hurried to the swimming pool.
There indeed lay a young girl soaking wet, prostrate at the edge with only her head showing, her hands propping her chin and the rest of her body submerged in water.
Song Ma waved everyone away and walked into a nearby changing room, retrieved a large white towel from a locker, draped it over her arm, and walked to the poolside.
The Wuqiong Water Pavilion’s swimming pool was divided into two sections, one outdoors and one indoors. Since the pavilion was near the lake, a cool breeze would brush by, day or night.
Ah Da lay there, eyes closed, letting the surging water splash against her body. She felt that only in water could she alleviate the heat within her body. If it hadn’t been for someone calling her name, worrying they might be frightened, she probably wouldn’t have surfaced from the bottom.
She could have quietly lied on the bottom for hours.
Song Ma crouched next to her and gently laid the towel over her back, “The living water is cold, Miss Ade, don’t soak too long, be careful of catching a cold.”
Ah Da opened her eyes, her large eyes even more bright and clear after the soaking, “It’s okay, Song Ma, you go on with your tasks. I’ll soak a bit longer, it’s so hot.”
Song Ma saw her cheeks were slightly rosy, worried, she touched her forehead and found the temperature normal before she felt assured.
Ah Da squinted, letting her touch her forehead, her rosy cherry lips parted slightly, the corners of her mouth lifted in a slight curvature, “The water feels nice, I like it here.”
Since she liked it, Song Ma had nothing to say, “If Miss Ade likes it here, that’s fine. If you want to change, you can choose from the changing room next door, and feel free to ask for anything you’d like to eat.”
Ah Da lazily responded, “Yeah, I know.”
After Song Ma left, Ah Da turned around and dived back to the bottom, swimming to the outer edge. Through the glass, she saw the clear blue lake and the lush green Qingshan.
The scenery was wonderful.
Even as the sun set in the evening, Ah Da was still soaking in the water, her complexion different from ordinary people, even if she soaked for a long time her skin wouldn’t wrinkle or turn pale; instead, it became even more moist.
When Qin Yu came back, Song Ma immediately informed him about Ah Da’s situation.
“Are you saying she has been in the water the whole time?”
Song Ma bowed her head, “Yes, she entered the pool from after one in the afternoon and hasn’t come out yet. Don’t worry, young master, someone has been watching, Miss Ade is fine.”
Qin Yu’s face shifted subtly as he took off his coat and handed it to Song Ma, while unbuttoning his cuffs as he walked towards the pool.
He descended the stairs and saw a young girl at the railing of the outdoor pool, dressed in a white dress, her long hair draped behind her and spreading like ink.
Qin Yu walked along the shore to stand in front of her; she remained completely oblivious.
She tilted her head, her cheeks resting on the towel, water dripping over her hair, cheeks, and neck, silently sliding down her spine, the white dress revealing nothing, yet delineating her exquisite curves.
Qin Yu’s eyes darkened, slowly squatting down.
Ah Da was sound asleep, eyes slightly closed, her cherry lips parted slightly, her skin clear and delicate, glowing with a soft pink, like a gentle sunset in the sky.
Perhaps due to the intensity of his gaze, Ah Da seemed to sense something, her cute nose wrinkled, and her eyelashes, wet with droplets, trembled as she lifted them, her glassy eyes slightly bewildered upon seeing Qin Yu.
What do you think?
