Chapter 26 - 26 26 Fishing Tactics
Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Fishing Tactics Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Fishing Tactics Editor: Larbre Studio Chu You stepped into the cave, which had a peculiar structure. The walls inside showcased a light purple web-like structure, making it seem as if he had ventured into a beautiful beehive.
Suddenly, a Scout King Bee appeared at a bend in the path ahead. Chu You quickly dodged into a corner. The monsters in the wild had a wide field of vision and once they saw you, they witnessed everything unrestrained by their perceptual range.
The trajectory of this patrolling King Bee seemed to be from the cave’s entrance to somewhere within. He couldn’t afford to be careless; who knows what might await at that bend.
Chu You had a wealth of experience in cave exploration.
The King Bee slowly approached Chu You’s hiding spot. When they were only one meter apart, the bee seemed to sniff out the scent of a stranger and halted in its place. Its wings quivered and it instantly flew up, ready to strike at any moment.
Chu You quickly jumped out, stabbing its face with his blade. He glanced behind the bee but didn’t notice anything suspicious, therefore, he immediately engaged in battle with the bee.
One-on-one, Chu You defeated the Guardian without damage. His long scimitar swung fiercely in the air and cleaved the King Bee into two.
Chu You ventured deeper into the cave. Upon reaching the bend, he discreetly peered around the corner.
It was an uneven path leading upward into an unseen end. The faint light from both sides illuminated the corridor. It was unusually void of any bees, making it desolate.
Chu You emerged from the bend and activated Sprint Mode. He quickly sprinted through the area, running straight up the slope.
Soon, Chu You froze as three pathways appeared before him. Not giving it much thought, he hastily chose one. Continuously running, he veered towards the left path.
The terrain here was immensely intricate with winding and twisting paths. If not a bend after a few steps, there would be a fork in the path, making the topology as complex as a labyrinth.
“Have I killed all the bees?” Chu You thought. Just as this thought crossed his mind, there was a rustling sound from the passage on the left. Chu You immediately slowed down and walked over.
Peering into the tunnel, he saw a heap of honey, half a meter tall, glowing enticingly. Beside the honey, four bees were swarming, carrying the honey deeper into the tunnel.
Seeing this, Chu You immediately sprinted over. The moment his footsteps echoed, the bees transporting the honey stopped abruptly. They spotted Chu You with fury in their eyes.
It seemed that these bees differed from those outside gathering honey; these bees had an active attack feature.
Perhaps because he intruded their hive.
Seeing the angry bees charging at him, Chu You chuckled. This was exactly what he wanted – to lure them out and take them down. Now that they had become proactive, this made the situation even better and saved him the trouble.
The space he was in was a bit cramped. Chu You was bitten a few times, but it was only minor. Rather than evade, Chu You decided to launch an attack whenever he saw an opening. To ensure all the bees were hit by his Sweeping Blow skill, he would attack while retreating, leading the bees to gather in front of him.
Chu You’s damage was too high; these ordinary bees couldn’t withstand his attacks and soon collapsed and died.
These four bees were the transporters of honey. As such, Chu You harvested honey from each of their bodies. Each chunk of honey gave him 50 experience points. The more he accumulated, the greater the experience he could convert – far more efficient than common monster killing.
After killing the four bees, Chu You turned his attention to the half-meter tall honey stack not far away. He wondered with anticipation whether he could pick up that item. If so, how much experience could he possibly exchange it for?
Chu You swallowed nervously. With an uncertain heart, he approached the stack of honey.
Upon approaching the half-meter tall honey, Chu You suddenly reached out a hand, his eyes sparking bright anticipation.
The tall stack of honey transformed into fine pollen-like grains and was all sucked into Chu You’s backpack.
You obtained X10 Bee Honey.
10 jars of honey are worth 500 experience points. Not bad, not bad. Chu You is suddenly tempted at this moment to clear out the entire map.
He consumed the half-meter high honey without pausing, and proceeded deeper into the place. He kept plundering down the passage.
Quickly, two Scout King Bees appeared before him. Chu You squinted, advanced quickly and as he got within striking range, he immediately swung his cleaver.
He had to save time now. He should be the first player to discover this place. Therefore, all the honey here theoretically belongs to him.
All of it is his!
The realization filled Chu You with a strong sense of urgency. It was only a matter of time, perhaps even before the night was over, before other gamers discovered this place. Once the secret was out, all these experience points that came from killing beasts and the extraction of sweet, juicy honey would quickly deplete as gamers overran the place.
The two King Bees engaged Chu You. After avoiding their skill attacks, Chu You took the lead: a split, a thrust, a slash. He swept his cleaver, never stopping his footwork, and quickly killed the two mobs.
Seeing that his health was still pretty good, Chu You pressed on with the same intensity.
Along the way, Chu You obtained three and a half meter high honeys. After defeating all the “Guardians”, Chu You arrived at the depth of the passage.
He arrived at the end, relaxed his pace, looked up and saw rough stairs. They were low, and he could see the hall inside and heard various sounds like those of a marketplace.
Chu You, bent over, immediately rushed over. In no time, Chu You finished crossing the steps. He hid behind a wall and peered inside.
What he saw was a bustling scene. Six bee bugs in a group tirelessly transported high piles of honey. There were at least ten such groups, meaning there were ten large piles of honey. They carried a lump of honey in their mouths and delivered it to the innermost hive room.
Upon seeing the hive room, Chu You also spotted an oddly-shaped bee standing in front of it. He quietly locked his target on it.
Emperor Bee, Level 7, One Star Elite, Big Boss.
Considering the irregularly distributed piles of honey and the seven King Bees moving about and the 68 bee monsters in total, should he be discovered by one, it could cause a chain reaction and possibly result in death.
Observed from the corner, it seemed the only choice for Chu You was to retreat.
However, at this moment, Chu You was actually smiling, a confident smile.
Chu You quietly opened his backpack, and…dropped a lump of honey on the ground.
After doing this, Chu You quietly retreated down the steps, quickly tossed another lump of honey, and then tossed another lump at the turning point…
Chu You silently sat down on the other side of the passage, resting and regaining his health, waiting for a catch.
A King Bee near the entrance stopped. It seemed to have smelled something, and after a moment, looked towards the entrance where a heap of honey stood. Its simple mind couldn’t comprehend why its favorite food was there.
The King Bee quickly arrived at the entrance. It suckled the honey from the ground on the spot. Just as it was about to go back with satisfaction, it saw more honey ahead. Two heaps, one in the middle of the passage and one at the end where there was a corner leading to another passage.
Chu You listened carefully, and soon, to his delight, a victim had taken the bait.
Just as a thin, black proboscis was about to suck in the honey left at the corner, a blade swiftly came slashing.
God damn it, you’ve stolen two lumps of honey, and that’s enough to send you to your grave…
Chu You’s attack was extraordinarily timely. He interrupted the bee just as it was about to draw in the honey.
Shortly after, Chu You killed the hooked King Bee and returned to the entrance, to “fish” using the same method as before.
This method had proven itself infallible time and again, following which Chu You disposed of all seven King Bees still in a roaming state.
Now there were only 60 ordinary bee swarms and one Big Boss left on the other side.
Looking at the extraordinarily busy ordinary beetles, Chu You felt that the previous method wouldn’t work anymore, even if he tossed another lump over, it would be hard to attract them, as there were half a meter high seemingly endless piles of honey in front of them.
So he decided to observe a bit longer…
After observing for a good five minutes, Chu You gradually got a clue.
The half-meter-high piles of honey were perhaps more than 30 meters away from the innermost nesting chamber. The ten piles of honey were irregularly placed here, some farther away, some in the corners. The honey piles and the nesting chamber were not a straight distance from each other, and there was an unknown stuff piled up along the path, forming obstacles. Judging from their shape, these should be old nesting chambers, which served as breeding grounds for beetle larvae. They had apparently been abandoned and piled up over time.
At this moment, when the Big Boss Emperor Bee inside was looking to the right, it was at this very moment!
Chu You seized the opportunity precisely and immediately ran over, crouching at a large protruding rock on the left, bending his waist. Now Chu You was really close to the nearest pile of honey, these low-level monsters didn’t have the perception ability to detect the enemy nearby.
All the beetles transporting this pile of honey were now carrying honey to the nesting chamber in their mouths. He took a surreptitious look around and found that due to the obstruction of the obstacles, the other beetles couldn’t see this place. Then Chu You quietly extended his hand, starting to absorb the honey pile, and soon, this pile of honey was put in Chu You’s backpack.
You obtained Beetle Honey × 10.
Chu You did not think too much, immediately started to spy around in hiding. Finding that the Big Boss was still staring at that side and its six transporting beetles hadn’t returned yet, Chu You immediately returned to the entrance and threw down a lump of honey at the same time.
At this moment, when the six beetles who had run out of honey turned around to continue, they saw the endless piles of honey in their eyes just disappeared, countless question marks appeared in their minds, unable to make a judgment, they came to the place where the honey disappeared, and the six beetles started circling around there.
After a while, one of them seemed to smell or see the honey at the entrance of the passage, the six beetles immediately flew over and discovered there were two lumps of honey in the passage. It seemed to be their instinct to transport these honey to the nesting chamber, this mission seemed deeply imprinted in their souls.
Having stored the honey at the entrance in its belly, the six beetles flew away from the stairs and came to the last place.
Then, the battle abruptly ensued.
The Big Boss Emperor Bee suddenly realized something was wrong, the beetle squad that had left had not returned for a long time, it which had a bit of intelligence was puzzled. Its wings flickered, then it immediately flew up, hovering in mid-air for a moment before slowly flying towards the entrance.
When it flew to the entrance, the lump of honey at the bottom of the passage suddenly came into its view.
What… what happened?
Lost in its thoughts, it hesitated. Then, it emitted a slight sound towards the passage. The fluctuation of this sound seemed able to reach far, however, there was no response after waiting for a while.
Finally, the Big Boss flew down the stairs and flew towards the honey at the bottom of the passage.
Just at this moment, a strange creature appeared in its field of vision, and it saw the giant creature bending down to pick up the lump of honey…
The battle was about to begin, Chu You did not have time to pick up the honey on the ground, nor did he think about it. When he saw the six beetles occupying the advantage in a slightly narrow place, Chu You had no choice but to lead them to a place with a more open terrain, which was the place where the honey piles appeared, because only that place could bring out his fullest abilities.
After dealing with the six beetles, Chu You did not stop and ran over here, returning to the path leading to the entrance of the hall once again. The lump of honey was still quietly sitting there. Chu You didn’t hesitate and just ran over to pick it up.
Then…
Then the scene suddenly became silent, looking at the passage, there was an extra Emperor Bee Big Boss appearing at some unknown time, Chu You was absolutely confused.
“I picked this up from the ground, do you want it back?”
The Emperor Bee, which didn’t understand human speech, immediately switched to slaughter mode. Chu You saw that the Emperor Bee had four limbs and wings, implying that its speed was very fast.
Indeed, the Emperor Bee swiftly approached Chu You like a shooting star, just as Chu You retreated into another channel.
Missing its first strike, the Emperor Bee immediately pursued, its six legs all ending in sharp claws.
With a flick of its tail, the ‘Bee Sting Poison’ skill appeared, causing Chu You to become vigilant.
The bee shook its body, and six black stingers were launched from its tail. Chu You, focused and careful, noted that although the skill name was the same as that of the Scout King Bee, the latter only fired one stinger, but this one fired six!
If hit by even one, both the damage and poison effect would be more terrifying than the King Bee’s.
The moment the poisonous stingers appeared, Chu You made a judgment. Having activated Sprint Mode, he immediately lunged toward the left, narrowly dodging the attack, and hastily retreated backward.
The Emperor Bee immediately caught up. Although Chu You was slower, there wasn’t much difference, and his expression remained calm.
Through his prior judgment, Chu You estimated the bee’s attack range. Using his acute consciousness, Chu You strived to detect the bee’s moves.
A slight breeze blew, sending chills down Chu You’s spine. He instantly evaded, causing the Elite Emperor Bee’s strike to miss again. Chu You managed to put some distance between him and the bee, then made a precise stab.
-107.
The bee’s health started to drop.
The terrain here was too narrow, and the bee moved too fast, its attacks too frequent. As a close combat professional, Chu You couldn’t beat the bee head-on. He could only dodge during the sprint and wait for the opportunity to counterattack. Relying on the increase in his attack range, Chu You chose the ‘kite’ tactic.
After running a certain distance, Chu You narrowly evaded the bee’s attacks, quickly turning to slip forward, dodging another round of attacks, then sprinted back the way he came.
Soon, Chu You was running out of stamina, and it was almost time to consume the pastries. Chu You ate another pastry, his eyes filled with determination.
The bee’s health, after being reduced by Chu You’s ‘kite’ tactic, was more than half gone. Chu You’s high hit rate and Armor Penetration played a key role in causing significant damage to it. Without the high enhancement of these two factors, Chu You’s situation would not be as optimistic.
Upon reaching a slightly wider area, Chu You decided to make his stand here.
Thus, an intense fight began.
A flash of light slashed across, and Chu You lost -114. Then, Chu You made a sweeping blow, and the bee lost -210, followed by a decapitation of -200.
Chu You had enough magic power to launch another Decapitation skill. His brain worked at high speed, and he narrowly dodged the bee’s attack again. Seeing the bee’s repeated attacks, Chu You gritted his teeth.
-109, Chu You took a hit from the bee.
-110, Chu You counterattacked.
The bee’s attack swung again, but Chu You’s attack speed was still restricted, forcing him to evade once more. The restriction on his attack speed made it difficult to strike.
Concentrating intensely on the bee’s health, Chu You had a plan. As long as he didn’t take two hits from the bee and only took one, he believed that the bee would die first.
Indeed, when both sides had only 300 health left, he launched a Decapitation skill, killing the big boss Emperor Bee. Immediately, a multitude of equipment sprang out of the bee!
This was the first time that Chu You had seen the full equipment drop phenomenon since he started playing the ‘Celestial World’ game.
What do you think?
