Chapter 69 - 69: Teaching Her to Dance (1)
Cloudy Capital.
7:45 pm.
Dining Room.
Under the radiant glow of the crystal lights, Mia Ginger kept her head low while eating, remaining silent. She had been silent almost since she got in the car, not uttering a single word.
Koa Jackson was also a man of few words.
As a result, the entire dining room felt suffocatingly quiet.
Time ticked by second by second, and the three people accompanying them were a bit at a loss, watching as Mia Ginger took forever to finish a bowl of red bean sticky rice porridge.
Not drinking the porridge, she took the chopsticks and poked the dish in front of her for ages.
Not a single piece of vegetable was picked up.
Koa Jackson looked up at her, pondering silently without speaking.
With a "plop" sound, a tear from Mia Ginger fell onto the table, startling the people around her. Aunt Lee's heart tightened, and she quickly said, "What's wrong? Is it not to your taste?"
"Aunt Lee," Mia Ginger looked up at her with red eyes, choking, "I want to eat meat."
"Pfft." Little Darcy couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Aunt Lee was stunned for a moment, then regained her senses and laughed too, "If you want to eat meat, just eat meat, why cry? Don't cry, don't cry, I'll go stir-fry some meat for you right away."
As she finished her words, she glanced at Koa Jackson.
She just felt that this third young master was too strict with this young girl, look at how aggrieved the girl was, crying just because she wanted to eat meat.
If she mentioned this at home, the old master would laugh!
This time, Aunt Lee didn't consult Koa Jackson and went straight to the kitchen.
To stir-fry meat.
Mia Ginger was feeling stifled and uncomfortable, and crying made her feel a bit better. When Aunt Lee brought out the stir-fried meat, she lowered her head and ate fiercely without making a sound.
Seeing half the dish being devoured, Koa Jackson felt a bit uneasy in his heart.
He lifted the dish and handed it to Aunt Lee.
He sighed and said to Mia Ginger, "Don't eat so much at night, have some porridge. Didn't you want to learn the waltz? I'll teach you later."
"..." Mia Ginger glanced at him.
Then lowered her head to drink the porridge.
Feeling full, she put down the bowl and stood up to head back to her room.
"This..." Uncle Lewis looked at her back worriedly and said to Koa Jackson, "Is the child alright?"
Koa Jackson lowered his eyes and sipped his tea, not replying.
"Children, it's normal to have a bit of a temper, you need to give in a bit more," Uncle Lewis hesitated and advised, thinking the two might have been unhappy on the road, "Especially girls, they need to be coaxed, this girl is not even twenty yet, she seems quite obedient to me, you can't be too strict."
Too strict?
Koa Jackson glanced up at him once, "It's not what you think."
"Then..."
Uncle Lewis wanted to say more, but Koa Jackson had already gotten up and returned to his room.
In recent years, the Ginger Family had changed residences several times, and today was his first visit to the Ginger Family after returning to the country, where he witnessed an unexpected scene.
He had met Aiden Jiang and Charlotte Chester at the front, then saw Zuri Ginger and Bob Ginger later, he could imagine that Mia Ginger's situation in the Ginger Family must not be very good, yet he hadn't expected her to be so isolated and unsupported.
Yet, he was merely an outsider.
In terms of seniority, he was even lower than Charlotte Chester and Aiden Jiang.
He could get engaged or married after she turned twenty, but in his heart, he felt they hadn't reached that point yet. Although he had the intention to protect Mia Ginger, it wasn't that strong for the time being.
And Mia Ginger...
He didn't even understand what kind of mentality she had when she agreed to the proposal to live together.
Thinking back to the scene he saw at the hospital a few days ago, Koa Jackson uncharacteristically felt a bit displeased, so he took his clothes and went to shower.
By the time he came out, it was already 8:30.
The summer was hot.
What do you think?
