Chapter 365: Strength Returning
Chapter 365: Strength Returning
The moment they arrived on the other side, their eyes widened.
“Y-You!” Jane turned to Evangeline, grabbing her by the collar. “The f-fucking temple! We left the Chasm!”
“Whoops?” Evangeline tilted her head. “But hey, look on the bright side…”
She pointed around at the burning forest.
“Hmm… there’s not really a bright side,” Evangeline added with a sigh. “Anyways… what is this place?”
“Not the 11th floor. I can tell you that much,” Jane replied with a scoff.
The moment she did, a peculiar notification appeared in front of them.
<You’ve found a shortcut!>
“So we’re in hell. Wow. Just great.”
She didn’t miss it in the slightest, as the time she was put in limbo was simply miserable.
Even if she didn’t have many people to care for her, being put through it was one of the worst things she had gone through.
Or at least, definitely in the top 5 worst things.
First would probably have to be that one time she killed a horde of monsters, and in the end, they all exploded, covering her entire capital city in monster feces.
It took years to remove, and when she did… it happened again.
A shiver ran down her spine just thinking about it.
But it seemed like she had really angered Jane, as her hands, which held onto Evangeline’s collar, trembled.
Honestly, when she imagined a portal, she thought it was double-sided.
Turning to the side, Evangeline let out a sigh.
It’s a one-way portal. Yeah… good luck traversing the Chasm again… hehe…
After a brief moment of Jane angrily holding onto Evangeline’s collar, they finally parted.
“I’m done,” Jane said, clutching her head. “I’m f-fucking doneeeeee!”
“Wow, little miss saint just swore. What next? Surprise me,” Evangeline commented, amused.
However, Jane ignored her. “I-I picked you two because you seemed reliable… but what is this? You literally wasted my time… what if some demon enters the temple? They’re literally going to desecrate the corpses of the cardinals.”
“What makes you think they would? Honestly, I’m sure the demons who were already inside would have dealt with it, you know?” Evangeline replied. “But hey, if anything, I’m sure you can get another expedition to take you there.”
“No… we’re going to teleport there,” Jane said with determination in her tone.
Evangeline tilted her head. “…But I thought we couldn’t?”
“I lied.”
“…” Evangeline’s brows twitched. “You son of a bitch.”
Now it was Evangeline’s turn to get mad.
“You could’ve shortened our journey by what, 20 hours? You… I swear to—”
Her words were cut short, as in the far distance, she heard a loud thud, causing the ground to shake and Jane to lose balance.
That was when a large crack suddenly parted the ground, and just as Jane was about to fall inside, Evangeline leaned down and grabbed her by the hair.
“Touche. Do you want to see a helicopter?” Evangeline asked, tightening her grip.
But she wasn’t able to show Jane the helicopter, as she noticed a boulder hurtling toward her.
“Hey, miss saint, parry this,” Evangeline said, then suddenly used Jane like a morning star weapon.
To her surprise, it worked like a charm, as in the very last moment, Jane punched the boulder, cracking it and sending it flying back toward where it came from.
But as Evangeline was about to do it again, Jane suddenly bit her leg.
“Ow!” Evangeline let go of Jane, causing her to fall down to the ground.
Yet as she was about to splatter, Jane summoned a miniature shield of light.
It acted as a trampoline, cushioning her fall.
Jane glared at her, then raised her middle finger.
Evangeline gave her a middle finger back, then proceeded to glance toward where the attack had come from.
It seemed like the attack managed to put out most of the fires that had been circling the forest.
That was also when she finally spotted the creature behind that attack.
—Lesser Blood Frost Giant [Elite] (Level 1,000)
Oh… Evangeline’s eyes widened. That might be a little… tough.
She glanced down to Jane, and without wasting another second, flew down to her, picked her up, and dashed as far away as she could.
Sure, if she had more strength, she’d beat that fucker to the ground. But as it stood, she was way too weak.
If only I could have my… hm?

My strength is back and I didn’t even realize it? Huh… I ended off at level 233. That’s pretty good, I think. But why exactly can I… oh.
It didn’t take long to spot the pop-up.
<Finished!>
Huh. So that’s how it works. I see… Evangeline mused, taking a look at the Frost Giant behind her.
For some reason, it didn’t seem as menacing anymore. If anything, she wanted nothing more than to dash toward it and kill it.
But then again. Now that I have my power back, and a bit more, I can finally do this…
A demon manifested itself out of the miniature magic circle she had made, and of course, she gave it one very simple order.
“Do whatever you have to do. Find Neraxis.”
What do you think?
