Chapter 209
"Tiel!"
Ferdie quickly raised a flame barrier to block 'that power.'
It was Rowen's power.
The sharp, frozen darkness power flew toward them like ice crystals but melted away, dissipating harmlessly when it hit Ferdie's barrier.
"Tiel, we need to hurry. If it doesn't work, let's leave. This place is too dangerous."
Ferdie spoke while still maintaining the flame barrier. He {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} couldn't let his guard down, not knowing when another attack might come. Tiel looked back at the fallen ones.
Some of them had already turned to powder at their fingertips and toes, disappearing, and even with Tiel’s power, the 'disappearance' couldn’t be completely stopped.
"If it doesn't seem like it will work, we leave them behind. I can't let you be in danger too."
Ian Dross spoke, shaking his hand and standing up. It seemed like he was preparing to leave the area with Ferdie right now.
'But if I leave...'
These people will die here.
Tiel squeezed her eyes shut and then opened them. She used her abilities again. A small light glimmered from the tips of her fingers. The phenomenon of their bodies turning to powder stopped.
But it started again. And since then, it had been a continuous cycle. Over and over.
Tiel knew she wouldn’t last much longer. She also knew that her abilities couldn't even provide a temporary fix anymore.
"Tiel, if it’s not working, there's nothing we can do. Sometimes, you have to know when to give up."
"But it worked before. It definitely worked before..."
What do you think?
