Chapter 468: 79: No Credibility
Chapter 468: Chapter 79: No Credibility
Xu Mo spent these days in the Deep Sea, and the Federation was not peaceful either.
Since the Deep Sea incident, the relationship between the Federation and the aliens had become especially tense, particularly with Lancelot Star, where conflicts were fierce.
The death of Xu Mo was still a considerable blow to the people of Byron Star. However, with the passage of time, Xu Mo was gradually being forgotten. Only a few who revered him as a belief would occasionally remember him and still felt a twinge of heartache.
Talent does indeed incite jealousy.
In the Capital, Chuanxing City, Lin Jue and Olivia received a message from Steel Dome City to return, but Lin Jue insisted on staying in the Capital to study. Both Lin Jue and Olivia were very upset by Xu Mo’s demise. Every time they thought about it, they felt an incredible heaviness in their hearts, as if someone like him should not have died young—he was Byron Star’s future star.
However, Su Rou, Sun Xiaoxiao, and Benjamin discussed among themselves and decided they wanted to return. Xiao Qi and Sun Xiaoxiao said they planned to move back to live in Steel Dome City. This made Sun Xiaoxiao waver, and after talking it over with Sun Xiaoxiao, they decided to return to Steel Dome City as well.
Brother Xu Mo was gone, and that silly Xiao Qi was going back too. What was the point of her staying in the Capital? She missed Brother Xu Mo so much. Sometimes, she would dream of him and unknowingly cried in the deep of the night.
How could such an outstanding person like Brother Xu Mo die, whereas that silly Xiao Qi was still alive and well? Why didn’t he die, boo hoo hoo!
Stark Group.
Ye Qingdie was preparing to leave after finishing up some business when Stark Hao saw her out.
“Sister Ye, are you really going?” Stark Hao asked.
He knew that Xu Mo’s death was a big hit to Ye Qingdie. Although she still wore a smile in recent days, her eyes no longer shone, somewhat dull and in a daze.
She had arranged things here and requested that he take care of Xu Yao and Mia; she was ready to leave the Capital. Perhaps for her, Chuanxing City of the Capital was a place of sorrow.
“Yes,” Ye Qingdie nodded. “Please take care of everything here.”
“Rest assured,” Stark Hao nodded. Although Xu Mo was gone, as a man of his word, he would still take care of Xu Mo’s affairs.
“Thank you,” Ye Qingdie said before turning and leaving.
As Stark Hao watched Ye Qingdie’s retreating figure, he let out a sigh. Just then, his communicator vibrated. Stark Hao didn’t look at it until Ye Qingdie got in the car, and only then did he glance at the communicator.
Seeing the name on the communicator, Stark Hao showed an extremely strange expression and his heartbeat quickened.
What’s going on?
He looked up at the car that had just started and shouted, “Wait.”
Ye Qingdie was startled, she rolled down her window and looked at Stark Hao, puzzled.
Stark Hao connected the communicator, not saying a word. Was he seeing a ghost?
“So quiet?” A familiar voice came from the other end of the communicator.
“I…”
Stark Hao blurted out a swear word. He was indeed seeing a ghost.
His arm trembled slightly as he asked, “Alive?”
“What do you think?” the voice on the other end asked.
“How are you still alive?” Stark Hao asked.
“???” Xu Mo cursed. “Do you really wish I were dead?”
Stark Hao finally realized that he was indeed alive.
Ye Qingdie seemed to have sensed something, for she had already gotten out of her car and was walking towards Stark Hao.
“Get to Coastal City as fast as you can to pick me up. I’ve got something good ‘for sale,’ bring more people for protection,” Xu Mo said.
“Okay,” Stark Hao nodded. Seeing Ye Qingdie standing before him, he said, “Someone wants to talk to you.”
With that, he handed the communicator to Ye Qingdie.
Ye Qingdie glanced at the name on the communicator, and her eyes instantly reddened. Xu Mo, realizing the silence on the other end was only filled with breathing sounds, guessed something and called out, “Sister Butterfly?”
Tears flowed down Ye Qingdie’s face. It was Xu Mo.
Alive!
“Sister Butterfly, you’re not crying, are you?” Xu Mo continued.
Ye Qingdie still didn’t respond, angry that this guy would contact Stark first instead of her. She stopped crying. Not worth it!
“How did you not die?” Ye Qingdie asked.
“…” Xu Mo was bewildered, was everyone hoping for his death?
This is not going as expected!
“What would become of Sister Butterfly if I were dead? I’m still short of a captain,” Xu Mo laughed.
“Where are you?” Ye Qingdie asked.
“On the sea, about to send my location to Stark for him to come pick me up,” Xu Mo replied.
“Okay,” Ye Qingdie hung up the communicator abruptly and handed it back to Stark, saying, “Let’s go.”
“Let’s go!” Stark Hao nodded, running toward a certain direction, with Ye Qingdie also running, wiping away her tears as she went.
“I always knew Brother Mo has great luck,” Xiao Qi muttered, “That’s Brother Mo, how could he possibly die.”
Saying so, he and Shadow also ran to catch up.
Coastal City.
Zero stood quietly by the seaside, where she came every morning to wait.
Many people in Coastal City walked along the shore, looking at Zero with emotion.
Xu Mo’s death had already shaken Coastal City, and Zero was rumored to be Xu Mo’s girlfriend. With her exceptional beauty, she was very conspicuous, and the news of her daily vigil had spread—there were even media reports about it.
Many young people in Coastal City were moved by the sight of Zero, wondering if this was what youthful love looked like.
To this day, she seemed unable to accept the news of Xu Mo’s death—perhaps the blow was too much for her.
What do you think?
