Chapter 27 - 27 27 Interrogating Lv Yan (1)_1
27: Chapter 27: Interrogating Lv Yan (1)_1 27: Chapter 27: Interrogating Lv Yan (1)_1 She evaluated the reasons her family had not found her in her previous life, attributing some of the oversight to the remote location of “Dreamy Orphanage.” However, Situ Xin thought the main reason was that the woman, Lv Yan, must have used some means to mislead her family’s search efforts.
Otherwise, given the status of the Situ and Loo families, how could they not find her?
The Situ family’s living room was now filled with people; those from the Situ and Loo families who had come back from work or school upon hearing that Situ Xin had been taken away were all wearing anxious expressions.
Situ Jin, who had run home with great excitement, ready to compete with his grandfather for his sister’s attention, now sat on the stairs inside the house with a gloomy face after hearing that his sister had been abducted and was currently missing.
Old Madam Situ and Old Madam Loo were silently praying in their hearts, hoping to find their precious baby.
After Old Master Zhang had arrived at the Situ residence to deliver the news, clarifying where Lv Yan was, he hadn’t left; instead, he stayed with the family, waiting for updates.
He also called his son, Zhang Xinjie, to inform him about the incident.
“How is it?
Have you found her?” Old Madam Situ and Old Madam Loo, hearing noise outside, guessed that Situ Haotian and Situ Haoran had returned and quickly stood up to ask.
Everyone in the room, hearts in their throats, stared eagerly at the doorway.
When everyone saw Situ Haotian and Situ Haoran walk in with grim faces and holding a child, they were deeply disappointed.
Loo Yaxin was especially unable to accept the reality.
“Haotian, where’s Baby?” As she spoke, darkness encroached her vision, and her body went limp, collapsing.
“Yaxin.” Loo Yaxin’s sudden faint caused chaos in the Situ household.
Fortunately, Huang Xia, Yaxin’s sister-in-law standing beside her, quickly reached out to catch Loo Yaxin.
Situ Haotian also rushed to his wife’s side and lifted her into his arms at once.
“Haotian, quick, take Yaxin to the room,” Old Madam Situ instructed her son.
After Situ Haotian carried Loo Yaxin to the room, everyone else returned to their senses.
Old Master Situ, looking troubled, asked Situ Haoran, “Where is Lv Yan?”
Following Situ Haoran’s cue, two people dressed in camouflage uniforms, with assault rifles slung over their backs, escorted Lv Yan inside.
Upon entering, Lv Yan looked around the room.
Seeing her father-in-law among them, glaring fiercely at her, she knew he didn’t like her.
Still, facing such hostility in front of so many outsiders made her uncomfortable.
With a bitter smile, she took some solace in the fact that her husband in name was not present.
“Lv Yan, where did you take my granddaughter?” Old Master Situ asked sternly.
“I’ve said it before, I sold your Situ Family’s young miss to traffickers.
And, you’re looking for Aunt Wu, but I’ve sent her packing, and you’ll definitely not find her.
Actually, even if you did find her, it would be useless, because Aunt Wu never knew I had already sold the young miss of your family to that trafficker.” Lv Yan was utterly fearless, as if daring the Situ Family to do something to her now that she’s refusing to talk.
Back at the train station, before Lv Yan was forced into the car, Situ Haoran’s threat to sell her daughter as well had indeed frightened her.
However, once she sat in the car and thought about it, she realized something.
Her daughter wasn’t just hers; she was also a granddaughter of the Zhang Family.
Even if her own father-in-law disdained her and usually turned a blind eye to her daughter, her daughter was still the bloodline of the Zhang Family.
Even if the Situ Family was so vindictive as to sell her daughter to traffickers to get back at her, her father-in-law would never allow it.
Situ Haoran’s threat to sell her daughter was simply to scare her into revealing Situ Xin’s whereabouts.
Upon realizing this, Lv Yan felt a wave of relief.
Thankfully, she had not been frightened by Situ Haoran into telling them where Situ Xin was.
Upon hearing Lv Yan’s confession about selling Situ Xin to traffickers, Old Madam Situ and Old Madam Loo swayed unsteadily on their feet, almost fainting; fortunately, the various daughters-in-law at their sides caught them.
“Mom, are you okay?
Do you need to rest a bit?” Both Old Madam Situ and Old Madam Loo shook their heads.
How could they rest at such a time, when their precious child’s whereabouts were unknown, all because of that wicked woman?
The eyes of everyone present flared with rage upon hearing Lv Yan’s words.
“You monster, you, you…” Old Master Loo was so enraged by Lv Yan that he nearly went up to her and gave her a beating.
When everyone’s attention was elsewhere, a figure suddenly charged from behind them.
As Lv Yan stood there, taking delight in the fury she stirred among the crowd, the figure rushed up beside her, grabbed one of Lv Yan’s hands, and bit down hard.
“Ah.” A scream of agony then came from Lv Yan.
“Let go of me.
Let go,” Lv Yan then tried to hit Situ Jin, who was biting her, with her other hand.
Fortunately, the two people who had been escorting her in grabbed the hand she was using to try to hit Situ Jin.
It was indeed Situ Jin, who couldn’t contain himself upon hearing Lv Yan say she had sold his sister to traffickers, and thus had lunged out, biting her fiercely.
Situ Jin, who clung to Lv Yan’s hand for a long while before letting go, wiped his mouth and stared at her fiercely.
“How dare you sell my sister.
I’ll bite you to death, not just you, but your daughter as well,” he declared venomously.
The bite Situ Jin gave was not mild by any means; he nearly tore off the flesh from Lv Yan’s hand.
But those present merely watched as Lv Yan clutched her wounded hand and cried out in pain, all wearing expressions that seemed to say she got what she deserved.
“Lv Yan, if you just tell the truth, if you bring back Situ Xin, we can pretend today’s incident never happened,” Old Master Zhang stepped forward, trying to extract Situ Xin’s whereabouts from Lv Yan.
With tears caused by Situ Jin’s bite falling down her cheeks, Lv Yan remained unrepentant.
“Dad, do you really think today’s incident can just be forgotten?
Hehe, let me be honest with you, after going through so much trouble to sneak the Situ Family’s young miss out and sell her to traffickers, do you think I’d just tell you?
I’m not the kind to exert effort for nothing.
Moreover, from the moment I planned this, I never intended to disclose the child’s whereabouts,” she said, with a hint of madness.
What do you think?
