It didn't take long for the man to finally run out of energy, his movement stopped at one of the Beast's giant statues. He took a moment taking a deep breath trying to gather his strength, afterward he painstakingly pulled himself up to sit and then leaned his tired back against the statue, His chest moved up and down as painted heavily, meanwhile his once luxurious white uniform was stained with dirt, sweat, and blood, completely lost it's all previous glory.

"It's that it?" there's a hint of disappointment in Zhao Li Xin's voice, perhaps he's expecting something more.

The man shot daggers at Zhao Li Xin, rather than a wound on his body, it was a wound on his pride that he couldn't bear.

"You… you are not a Gifted people, aren't you?" he probed the chance of Zhao Li Xin's expression

Zhao Li Xin's expression remained impassive, "You haven't asked my question, yet"

The meaning was clear, Zhaolixin wouldn't answer anything if he didn't answer his question first. The man gives an exhalation of frustration but what else he could do, with his current condition it'll be good he's not dying from blood loss first "Fine, you want to know why... why we are here, right?!"

"Go on" Zhao Li Xin clasped his hands behind his back, he looked down at him like a monarch waiting for his lowly subordinate to speak.

The man feels ashamed and upset, he thought the Dark Age war had made him stronger than anyone besides his lack of gifts he believed he had no other shortcomings therefore after he received this power he believed other than the twelve paladins called the Constellation no one could defeat him but the reality slapped him hard.

He took a deep breath and then spoke in a whisper "We here to preserve this place from any disturbance..."

"Why?" Zhao Li Xin briefly asks.

The man was a bit hesitant but a a moment later he looked at Zhao Li Xin sharply " Because this is the entrance, a gate if you may say"

Zhao Li Xin narrowed his eyes, "A gate for what?"

The man chuckled "The gate for God..."

Zhao Li Xin frowns and the man laughs but then coughs blood yet his eyes still glint with excitement, he wipes the blood from his mouth and then looks at Zhao Li Xin "You don't believe it right...well no one does...untill we saw the proof...The God have given us the seed...the seed of God"

What seeds? Zhao Li Xin was curious.

The man pursed his lips, "Save me and I will show you..."

"Not so fast" Zhao Lixin raised his hand dismissively, "You said you were here to preserve this place from any intrusion, what does that mean?"

The man sneered, "The meaning is simple, when the masquerading spell wears off, we come to rejuvenate the spell..."

"So you came to rejuvenate the spell, but I thought only the gifted people could use spells?" Zhao Li Xin cautiously examined the man's expression to see if he would lie.

"Ha, there is another way to activate the spell, a simple way but not... my job is to clear the place before another team comes to rejuvenate the spell..." The main didn't try to hide it from Zhao Li Xin.

Zhao Li Xin tilted his head "Other team?"

"Before that, Why don't you join us?" The man's eyes glint as he spoke "The S.A.I.N.T. organization would welcome a powerful man like you, therefore...if you save me, I will take you to my organization..."

How could Zhao Li Xin not know what his thinking, he was amused by the offensive offer, ""Why should I? No matter how strong your organization, can you win against Harland Kingdom, furthermore the Lucient family?" The man let out a raucous laugh untill he coughed blood, he almost fainted yet he managed to hold on. The man clenched his aching chest, "Not only the Lucient family, soon...soon, there will be no more talented people...left...in the world, except those we allow to live..." his eyes glint strangely like a lunatic at the same time, his whole body trembles with joy.

Zhao Li Xin's expression hardened "What's that supposed to mean?"

The man smiles in contentment "What I mean cannot be more clear..." he chuckles "The Lucient family will fall, Harland will fall, and without their protection...there will be no Gifted people be free"

Anger surged within him like a volcano, Zhao Li Xin kicked the man's chest and then pressed his feet against his body until he vomited blood. "Tell me everything you know, or I swear I'll make your dead will be long and painful"

"Ha-ha...ah, why you..are..so angry?" the man perked up when he saw Zhao Li Xin show trouble emotion for the first time "You look worried...is there someone important who was Gifted people, hm?"

Zhao Li Xin pressed the man's chest with his feet untill the man gasped for air "Don't test me, maggot, Never been a patient man"

Instead of being frightened, the man grinned widely, "Didn't anyone ever tell you...it's...not...nice..to be so...arrogant" All of a sudden he pressed his bloody palm against the statue.

It turned out that while they were talking he had carved a symbol on his palm and then waited for the right moment to brand the bloody symbol on the beast statue.

Not long after the statue shook violently and started to collapse, the man took advantage of this opportunity to roll away from the statue while Zhao Li Xin had long since jumped back after that he stared at the debris falling from the collapsed statue.

[Master – Master, I feel a very strong energy from that statue, be careful!] The fire spirit that was hiding all this time suddenly shot towards Zhao Li Xin and then frantically circled him.

'CLAP!' Zhao Li Xin clapped the poor firespirit so that it stopped circling around him like an annoying mosquito.

[Calm down,] Zhao Li Xin ruthlessly calmed the spirit.

The fire spirit slowly ignited again, [Master, I was just worried...] the spirit felt dejected, he just worried okay.

Zhao Li Xin as usual ignored the fire spirit, [ Tell me what is that?] Zhao Li Xin folded his arms on his chest as he curiously stared at the strange creature. that came up from inside the stone statue.

The Paladin leader laughs like a madman, "You going to die now. that is the ancient creature from another world the guardian of this place, you are going to die now!!" [Oh?] Zao Li Xin pursed his lips.

[He said it...] The fire spirit replies.

The giant creature was shaped like a tree with protruding horns on its head and his body was covered with big and small branches, the creature had thick limbs and eyes that looked like a black hole with only small glowing green eyes inside that now turned toward Zhao Li Xin.

"Kill Him, KILL THAT MAN!" shouted the Paladin leader scream ecstatically, he couldn't wait to see the creature tear the arrogant man into pieces but all of a sudden the creature stretched out its hand and a second later the vines stretched out like snakes and stabbed the noisy man's body mercilessly it hang the man body like a lifeless doll. The man's body jerk then blood flew down from the vines onto the ground soon it became a puddle of blood.

"Wh-why?" he didn't seem to expect to be attacked by the creature.

The creature threw the lifeless body aside like trash and then turned his attention back to Zhao Li Xin.

Zhao Li Xin was annoyed to see the man die when he still had many questions to ask that man.

"You one obnoxious creature!" Zhao Li Xin was enraged his plan was now ruined.

The creature let out a furious roar so hard it blew away the Paladin corpses that were previously scattered on the ground like a dry leaf. However, Zhao Li Xin was unaffected by the impact of the immovable mountain, the only thing moving was his twitching nose, he waved his hand in disgust [What a stinky breath!] he grumbled.

[Yes master, Imagine how long it had become a statue, the creature wouldn't have time to brush it teeth, right?!] The fire spirit is being sarcastic.

[Hm, you are right!] yet, Zhao Li Xin agrees with the spirit for the first time.

[....] the little spirit feels complicated.

Once again another battle commenced, Zhao Li Xin moved swiftly and sharply as he evaded the creature's heavy attack, despite it size the creature was able to move very fast using it vines to pull itself from one side to another side, and the roots of the creature could emerge suddenly from the ground to attack Zhao Li Xin.
