A brief silence passed.
In that time, Theodore, who had transformed into a virus monster, broke through the wreckage of the stairs and fully emerged onto the ground level.
In the end, Cherry raised both hands and took a step back.

She picked up Louis and turned away so that Theodore was out of sight.

Thud—!
Gunshots rang out, followed by the sound of multiple impacts, and then, the monster’s cries ceased entirely.
When Cherry turned back, she saw Ethan and Cecil standing there, panting for breath. Beneath them lay the monster’s corpse, torn apart beyond recognition.
Ethan held a sword. Cecil had fired his gun.
For a long while, they simply stood there, gasping, staring down at Theodore's lifeless body.
“The monsters are closing in. Let’s go, now.”
Cherry covered Louis’ eyes before climbing onto Gobungi.
Ethan and Cecil followed soon after.
