The Male Leads Are Trapped in My House

Chapter 321

I turned back to Cecil.

“You know where Scientist F’s test subjects are being held and where his laboratory is, don’t you, Your Highness? Can you draw me a map?”

I pulled out a map of the Briwood Kingdom, flipped it over, and spread it out on Gebung’s head before handing him a fountain pen. Cecil accepted the pen.

“My drawing skills are really terrible, though…”

With a reluctant expression, he hesitantly began sketching the palace’s internal layout on the map.

Unfortunately, Cecil truly couldn’t draw.

In the end, I gave up on trying to make sense of the crude map he had drawn. Instead, Cecil decided it would be easier to explain the locations to me directly.

As I looked toward the distant royal palace and planned our approach with him, I finally asked the question I had been meaning to ask for some time.

“But why are you helping me, Your Highness? Is it because Sir Theodore betrayed you?”

“You’re asking that now?”

“I’m not actually curious, but at this point, it seemed polite to ask. More than anything, I just like to be sure about things.”

“…The Briwood royal family is rotten from the inside out. When the virus spread, they were the first to shut the gates. They didn’t care whether their own people lived or died—only their own safety mattered.”

It seemed that the corruption inside the Briwood Kingdom was no different from anywhere else. Why were royal families always like this? At least Graydon had Seymour, a solid pillar holding everything together. But Briwood…

I looked at Cecil with a skeptical expression.

Cecil was hard to trust. He was just pretty—there was nothing particularly sharp or reliable about him.

“I wasn’t a great crown prince either. I let F and Sir Theodore manipulate me. Even now, I don’t think I’m much of a decent person. Until I met you all, I didn’t even hesitate at the thought of kidnapping Louis and killing you.”

Cecil lowered his gaze to his hands as he spoke.

“Since the fall, my sense of moral conviction has become blurry. I don’t even know what kind of person I used to be.”

His voice carried a resigned tone as he continued.
