Chapter 318
"Papa. Papaa… Louis, Louis is… really glad… to be born."
At that moment, Louis spoke as if he had read Ethan’s heart.
"I'm the happiest in the world because Papa and Mama are my parents."
The child’s eyes met Ethan’s, and he smiled bashfully.
"Thank you for being my Papa."
Ethan finally buried his face into Louis’ small chest. His eyelids burned as if they were on fire. His shoulders trembled.
In the end, he couldn’t hold back the tears anymore.
After what felt like an eternity, Louis finally fell into a deep sleep.
Ethan gazed at the sky outside, now completely swallowed by night.
Beyond the window, the residential districts of the city stretched out before him. By tomorrow, they would enter the palace, and by tomorrow, he would get the antidote.
If those bastards lied to me and they don’t actually have it…
Then he would show them what true destruction looked like. He would burn Briwood to the ground.
A violent, deranged light burned in Ethan’s eyes.

We were hiding inside a deep forest cave, about twenty kilometers away from Igreve, avoiding the virus-infected monsters.
"Crown Prince, is there anything you can do?"
I asked, watching Cecil struggle to light a fire. He shrugged nonchalantly.
"Does a Crown Prince have to do something? I’m a Crown Prince. That’s enough."
"Then go get some firewood."
Cecil obediently turned around and began gathering firewood.
What do you think?
