Chapter 311
When Ethan was building the fence, Louis helped by holding the wooden planks. It wasn’t much help, to be honest. In fact, having Louis involved doubled the time it took to finish. But Ethan didn’t mind at all.
Louis was just too adorable.
He glanced at the boy, who was gripping the wooden plank with a determined expression. His looks were identical to Ethan’s, but he had Cherry’s charming personality. Could there be a more perfect child?
It would have been nice if Louis resembled Cherry in appearance, too, but still—his face combined with Cherry’s personality made for an interesting mix.
Would he be a good father?
He never wanted to be like Duke Lancaster. But since he had never seen or learned what it meant to be a good father, he always doubted whether he could do it right.
"Papa, am I doing a good job?"
Louis asked with a bright, innocent smile.
Ethan let out a small chuckle and ruffled the boy’s blond hair.
"Sir Louis! You’re doing an excellent job!"
"Yes! Capti!"
Louis raised both hands triumphantly and beamed.
Ethan finished securing the fence and then lifted Louis high into the air.
The child burst into laughter, his giggles ringing joyfully in the backyard.
Watching him, Ethan suddenly felt something warm swell in his chest. He pulled Louis in for a tight hug.
"Louis!"
Just then, Cherry came outside looking for them.
Seeing Ethan holding Louis, she broke into a wide grin.
"Oh, you were playing with Louis?"
What do you think?
