The Male Leads Are Trapped in My House

Chapter 300

Ethan, Nox, and I stayed at the lord’s castle in Luwaton. Luwaton was a small territory located at the southernmost edge of the Graydon Kingdom. Because of that, it was also the last place the virus reached.

Ethan and I had never actually spent our honeymoon together after our wedding. We had been constantly deployed in the mission to eradicate the virus-infected monsters, leaving us with no time for anything else. Eventually, Theodore couldn’t bear to watch any longer and ordered us to take mandatory leave.

However, now that we had time off, we didn’t know what to do with it, and boredom quickly set in. It was Ethan who suggested we travel south. He remembered that I had once mentioned wanting to rest while looking at the sea.

“This is perfect. I was curious about the situation in the south anyway. Maybe we can even join the reinforcements.”

“Hah. Miss Cherry, you really are... If you’re planning to officially join the southern reinforcements, why not bring a doctor along as well?”

“Should I?”

At my question, Ethan shook his head, as if he couldn’t believe me.

We were sitting in the Happy House watchtower, talking, when Nox climbed up to call for us but overheard our conversation. His face immediately brightened. Ethan looked extremely displeased but had no choice in the matter.

The truth was, taking a vacation in this situation was a luxury, and the south—where conditions were even worse—clearly needed a doctor who was well-versed in the virus. That was how Nox ended up joining Ethan and me on our so-called honeymoon.

And so, after several twists and turns, we finally arrived in the southern region of Luwaton.

The lord’s castle in Luwaton resembled an iron fortress. It was said that Lady Irene Milk Luwaton had single-handedly maintained its defenses. She appeared to be around my age, with messy red hair, oversized glasses, and a face covered in freckles and scars. Just thinking about the hardships she must have endured as a noble lady to survive until now made my heart ache.

“We don’t have much to offer, but please eat as much as you’d like. Thank you so much for saving our Lady Irene.”

The people of Luwaton were incredibly kind. Judging by the circumstances, food must have been scarce, yet they had prepared a warm meal for Ethan, Nox, and me.

Beef and potato stew. In this post-apocalyptic world, it was a rare luxury. Even in the capital, the circulation of food supplies had only recently resumed. The south, where the virus had spread later, was bound to be even worse. And yet, they willingly shared their precious meat with us.

Ethan and Nox devoured the beef and potato stew like starving men. At this rate, no one would believe they were nobles. But given how poor the food had been during our journey to the south, I could understand their reaction.

Fortunately, thanks to Gebung, the virus-infected monsters in Luwaton had been mostly dealt with. The people of the lord’s castle looked relieved. Their faces radiated a trust and unity that reminded me of our own Happy House.

‘It’s just like our Happy House.’

The thought struck me. Would the people of Happy House wear the same expressions? If outsiders saw us, would they feel the same way? The idea filled me with pride.

“Lady Irene, where’s the nearest beach?”
