"Elder Basalt."

Gao Yang thought it was a full team meeting, but it turned out he was the only one there.

"Seven Shadows, you've been promoted, so we're on the same level now. You can just call me Basalt." Basalt smiled, clearly just being polite.

"I wouldn't dare." Gao Yang replied modestly, maintaining a composed demeanor. "Elder Basalt, is there a mission?"

"Yes, although I could have told you over the phone, since you were coming here anyway, it's better to discuss it in person."

Gao Yang nodded. "Please, go ahead."

Basalt's expression turned serious. "An hour ago, there was a theft at the morgue in the Rosefinch Branch."

"What?" Gao Yang couldn't hide his shock.

Basalt frowned slightly. "The Rosefinch Branch stores the bodies of Awakened Beings, as well as some beasts, mainly for research purposes. Now, some of these bodies have been stolen."

Basalt paused, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Among them were members from our Group 4 and Group 5."

Hearing this, Gao Yang felt a surge of anger. They had sacrificed their lives less than three days ago, and now their bodies were being stolen.

"Why would someone steal bodies?" Gao Yang couldn't understand. "What use are they?"

"I'm puzzled by this as well. Once a body is over 24 hours old, it's generally only useful for dissection and research. That's why the morgue has never had a theft problem before."
