The hivemind is conquering for me?

Chapter 412: A Brand New Start

"Where is she!" A deep modulated voice yelled to one of his prisoners as he picked them up by the head. Talos had managed to catch up with the convoy that had raided his territory. He was finally expecting to decapitate the great offender, Jinx and offer it up to Z, but she was nowhere to be found.

Squeezing harder, the man in his grip began crying blood. "Where is she!" He yelled again, causing the man to yell back between screams. "Ah! I don't know!" The pressure was building up again, his screams of desperation paving way to the truth.

"She! She went a different way from us! She turned north while still in your territory! We have no idea where she is! Please stop! Ahhhh!" *Splat* Talos did as the man asked and stopped his suffering by squeezing the head into a pulp before dropping the limp corpse on the ground.

He could tell the man wasn't lying, so as he looked at the remaining prisoners he ordered his men. "Pike them, let Timmy come for their heads." While the cacophony of butchery played behind him, Talos turned his gaze north with a burning hatred.

There was too much ground to cover now, He could only hope that a group of his soldiers were able to intercept her, wherever she was going.

With a whimsical whistle, Jinx walked back to her vehicle, the skin of her face after taking a shotgun blast there was beginning to heal already. As she sat back in the driver's seat, she adjusted the mirror to look at herself and smiled.

"Good thing it wasn't an AP round huh Lele? I don't think I could have healed the damage in time for meeting my boyfriend if that was the case." Lele was a bit stunned. She knew Jinx was strong, but to kill thirty people by herself? Only getting injured as she was playing with someone she had hurt... A shiver ran up the young girl's spine.

She felt like needed to say something or she would be stuck in shocked silence for the rest of the drive. "H-How long until we reach your family Jinx?" Jinx then turned around in her chair and scared Lele more than she ever thought possible, by talking to her in a tone that was actually reserved for children by normal people, but by Jinx, it freaked her out.

"Aww, is someone excited to go to the party? Don't worry, we are almost there. We just have to cross into the neutral zone and from there it's a chipper two hours without getting shot at or having to watch the rooftops for scouts."

Lele hearing this was not relieved in the slightest. She did not know a lot of things about the war, as she was still sheltered by Jinx, even if it did not feel like it, but the one thing that was made clear by even White Death was. 'Do not cross into the neutral zone.'

The Child was good at many things due to her early maturation, but hiding her emotional thoughts was clearly not one of them. Jinx thought to herself before she turned around and began driving.

After she passed over the speed bumps that were totally there five minutes earlier, she spoke. "You don't have to fear where we are Going Lele. This is going to be a new chapter for you after all. I am going to tell everyone you died, as I think you are ready to join my family. A brand new start, away from all the violence, how does that sound?"

'Like it is too good to be true.' She thought, but simply smiled at Jinx's expecting gaze in the mirror.

"Hi again. How has your first time with us been so far?" The hostess from earlier said with a radiant smile as she stood behind the bar. "Yeah,It's not half bad. I like this place. Look, I have been sent out here to buy some drinks and I have already used the number you gave me earlier. All I have on me is this, are you able to accept this?"

Before I had a chance to say what it was, the woman before me said. "Ooh, a whole ingot of platinum? From an undisclosed mine as well judging from the stamp atop it. You got friends in the military?"

I nodded my head impressed. "Yeah, I got this stamped at a military checkpoint on the border of the core worlds." The hostess nodded her head. "Yeah, that makes sense, almost everywhere you can mine for platinum in the core worlds is owned by four or five noble families, that makes sense...

I was impressed by the woman's trivia, something she must have picked up on as she smiled at me. "My papa is a Jeweller. A high end one at that, I have seen my fair share of bars like this before."

"Oh, I see." I said and smiled before asking. "So, can you accept this?" The woman looked down at the ingot of platinum for a moment. "Hmmm. While the establishment cannot... Hang on a moment, I will be right back."

I waited for a couple of minutes until the hostess returned with a device I was familiar with. " You are lucky I always carry a halfway with me, not many people do. I also took a neutral credit chip from the back office. There is no security measures on it, so be careful with it. If you want, I will buy the ingot off you for 150,000 Credz. Does that sound good to you?"

I smiled and nodded my head. After the purchase, I was handed over the cred chip and immediately placed it back down to buy an order of drinks. After I paid and began to walk away, the hostess called "Sir! The price was 1000 credits. I think you placed in 10,000?

Turning around with my tray of drinks. I smiled flirtily and said. "I know." I then winked. "The rest was a thank you." I then proceeded away leaving the rosy cheeked hostess beaming with delight at the mega tip.

Re entering the private room the two inside were talking by the fireplace and all of a sudden stopped upon my presence returning. 'Well that's weird.' I thought to myself, but brushed it off. "Sorry about that ladies, I had some issues with my credit chip. All good now though."

I then placed our drinks on the table and took a seat on the right couch. After picking my own up once more, I took a sip, still revelling in the citrous taste after a couple hours of drinking the same drink.

As I placed it back onto the table, Delilah clumsily sat down next to me and hugged my right arm. "So Apollo, what are your plans for the rest of the night? Do you feel like going home yet, or do you feel like doing something adventurous?"

Delilah, thanks to the information Keyla accidentally brought back with her, closed off her under-link entirely. She wasn't betraying, the now most definitely irate, Sophia. No, she was just being of service to the king... Distractions could hinder her potential to service her king in any way he needed after all.

" I am up for adventure. It is the reason I am here after all." I said, too innocent for my own good. Zeona then shambled over and sat down to my left. "No Apollo. Don't- Don't trust Delilah. She is a man eater! She just wants to get you alone so she can pounce on you. We should go dancing!"

Zeona was wasted, currently that was. She could control her entire body, including her synthetic organs. She was currently limiting how fast her body was absorbing the toxins, leaving the little parts of her body that were still organic, most of her brain, to get incredibly drunk, incredibly fast.

"Sure, I'm not the best dancer, but I suppose we could go back to mine and-" Zeona suddenly grabbed my inner thigh hard and shook her head clumsily. "No. No... No. I can't go there. It will break the thingy... The thingy. You know, the thingy." She started clicking her metallic fingers together trying to think of the word.

" The neutrality pact?" Delilah chimed in. "Shut up bitch, I wasn't talking to you!" Zeona yelled at Delilah before smiling at me all happily. "The neutrality pact. If I am seen in the neutral zone, it could be bad for business. *Gasp* By the Stars!"

She said, causing me to flinch as she gripped my thigh incredibly hard to the point it would have ripped off mere months ago. "What is it babes?" Delilah asked curiously from my right.

"I am craving fast food so hard right now! Apollo, can we go get burgers before we go dancing please!" Zeona begged. Delilah then gasped to my right and hugged my arm even tighter. "Oh my! Apollo that does sound ama-amazing. Can we get burgers please!"

Looking to my left and right. I grew confused why it was my decision all of a sudden, we were all adults after all... But judging from the intense looks in their eyes, if I tried to explain that, they would just ask again.

"Sure, we can go get burgers." I said, causing the two to sync up and cheer like they won the lottery.
