Chapter 238: A Mother That Cleans Her Son’s Mess
Chapter 238: A Mother That Cleans Her Son’s Mess
-----
After noticing that Galaxy Man wasn’t in charge but a strange, ghostly god that had possessed his body, which Orion had assumed was just part of his powers, he quickly went to stop him from doing anything funny, such as fully reviving that alien.
“Well, would you look at that! There were two of you, huh?”
After noticing, he immediately teleported in front of the corpse and then extended his hand, made completely out of silver and golden light, and pierced Galaxy Man’s soul with it, grabbing it alongside whatever else was possessing him.
Indeed!
He pulled out both Galaxy Man's and the Saurian God’s souls. It seemed that the Saurian God Soul, or a part of it, had parasitized the Soul of Galaxy Man, partially merging with it.
Orion didn’t seem to care about that, nor did he have any intentions of saving Galaxy Man’s soul either.
“S-Stop! STOP RIGHT NOW! Anything! I’LL GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT, BUT LET ME GO!”
The ghostly divine soul of the Saurian God, or a part of it, begged for mercy in the hands of the young man; he felt completely powerless without a vessel and also while not even being in his original world.
Despite his tremendous power and how he could possess literally anything, he seemed completely powerless before Orion, whose clutch seemed to cancel all his powers at once.
Orion smiled at him; without saying a word at all, he seemed to not even care what the Saurian God could ever say in defense, nor on anything he offered either.
He slowly dragged the soul of the Saurian God and that of Galaxy Man into his mouth; the ghostly divine soul resembled a small, green, and golden-colored, ethereal snake, squirming around while hanging from his fingers.
“W-WAIT A SECOND! W-WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO DO?! YOU CAN’T EAT ME! YOU CAN’T! I’LL POSSESS YOUR BODY!”
The Saurian God glanced at the sharp young man’s sharp teeth and then at the throat, noticing something strange there.
An endlessly spiraling black void.
“W-What the fuck do you have in your stomaaaaAAAAAAGGH!”
CRUNCH!
“Gulp.”
Orion swallowed without hesitation as the Saurian God quickly cut off the fragment of his soul from his original Divine Soul somewhere else.
The young man seemed slightly annoyed; the flavor wasn’t to his liking, it seemed.
“Disgusting.”
He ended up spitting something, a blue and white-colored soul; it was small and not at all remarkable, but it was filled with purity and a kindness to the point it made Orion feel a slight stomachache.
“Despite having such a strong body, your soul is incredibly weak, like that of any person,” laughed Orion.
The soul glanced at Orion, resembling a small, white, and blue-colored will-o'-wisp, manifesting two worried, adorable eyes.
The soul flew towards the corpse of Galaxy Man, looking completely shocked and screaming in horror, although it made tiny sounds that couldn’t even be understood.
“Stop crying.”
He quickly descended back to Earth, without even caring if the superhero died or anything at all.
Meanwhile, within Earth’s atmosphere, Bing Xue was glancing at the skies as if everything happened.
“Sheesh, this young man really doesn’t hold back at all! So that’s where he was…” Bing Xue smiled happily. “Well, I’m glad he helped out at the end… and big time at that! But did he have to leave such a mess behind? All of those pieces of metal lingering everywhere are going to fall into Earth for a while. What a pain…”
Bing Xue quickly went to greet him, rushing to where he was. Orion stopped descending, stopping as she blocked his path.
“What? Do you want to fight again?”
Orion smiled, gripping his fists tightly as he released a large quantity of Divine Primal Power he had absorbed from the Soul Fragment of the Saurian God.
“Of course not! Why would I want to fight my own son? I want to talk with you!”
“Talk? There’s nothing to talk with you about anymore.”
“I wanted to first thank you for taking care of that problem.”
“I don’t need your thanks.”
“Second, I wanted you to come with me. Let’s go to my Pagoda, so you can meet all of your siblings and even the young version of yourself! I’m sure you’ll like it…”
“So he was already born, huh…”
Orion looked down at Earth; for a moment, he fell silent. Bing Xue realized he was hesitating and didn’t cut the conversation off immediately.
“Your mother… Urbosa, she wants to talk with you. Hekita, your sister, too! Athena as well! Rainbow Eyes and Kalana… Please don’t tell me you don’t care about them!”
“…”
Orion hesitated for a moment; his angry face changed as he became slightly emotional. He opened his mouth, about to say something; his eyes looked filled with slight light.
Bing Xue saw through him the child that was traumatized, the lonely boy who lost everything, and yet…
“…No.”
He stopped himself, waving his head as he sighed.
“They don’t need to see me. And I doubt he wants to see a twisted version of himself either.”
“Orion! W-Why would you ever think that?! They want to meet their big brother!”
“Enough!”
Orion roared angrily again, his white fur growing spiky with anger.
“Don’t pretend that I have forgiven you for what you did to me… Sealing my soul…! I won’t forget that!”
“I did it because I had to stop your mad rampage!”
“Tch! If you don’t want to fight, then leave me alone!”
TRUUUM!
Orion released a powerful shockwave, pushing Bing Xue out of the way as he descended back to Earth. As he did, Bing Xue felt her entire body trembling.
“He had become even stronger... He’s still so much stronger than I am too!” She thought. “But he’s also so stubborn… And his mind is not in the right place. At the very least, he is not attacking me anymore. And he seemed hesitant. Perhaps if I push enough, he’ll eventually accept.”
As Bing Xue thought that she quickly felt something, a little soul touching her clothes, she noticed the soul was rather ordinary, but it held something within it that made it somewhat special to only those that could see it.
“This is… A soul reinforced by the Dao of Hope?”
Her son had never seen that because his mind was dark and muddy, he was unable to see the Dao of Hope. And therefore, he could not see the light and what made this ordinary soul special and also what made it so he couldn’t eat it.
“You’re the soul of Galaxy Man!”
Bing Xue held the little soul in her hands, smiling lightly. She realized that man has been a victim this entire time, and with the Saurian God vanquished, there was no reason why he should pay for the crimes he was forced to commit.
“I’ll save you… But you have to promise me something.”
The soul nodded; it seemed it would literally do anything if Bing Xue could somehow revive him. Bing Xue explained to the soul about her reviving abilities and their limits, and then…
“I know you don’t want to become my disciple, and I accept that. But you will become an active ally, and we will share information. And we will have a talk, understood? You need to learn when it's time to take down a foe for good.”
“…”
The Soul seemed sad; it didn’t want to do that, though it was perhaps too pure. But Bing Xue sighed as she flew back to Galaxy Man’s corpse.
It had yet to even freeze, showcasing its incredible durability and molecular density that surpassed almost everything she had seen before.
“Very well now…”
She unleashed a flash of bright golden light, healing the body completely, although it took her thousands of times more energy than her usual usage of this technique because Galaxy Man’s body was so incredibly tough.
She also took some of his blood, flesh, and bones for herself, as she wanted to investigate and analyze the DNA composition of this race of incredibly durable aliens as part of the deal they had discussed before, and then once his body was completely back to normal.
“Now…”
She placed the soul inside the body and then.
“{Soul And Body Union}!”
FLUOSH!
The soul merged with the body, as Galaxy Man’s blue eyes opened wide, gasping for air for a moment, as he had that reflex of breathing.
However, as he breathed, he realized he couldn’t breathe anything, seemingly beginning to gag for a while before he calmed down, realizing he didn’t even need to breathe.
“Better now? Your alien biology gives you the ability to not even need to breathe in outer space… Seriously, your kind is way too gifted, Galaxy Man. I’ll make good use of those DNA samples.”
“Ugh… Please just don’t use them to… Ugh, my head…”
He grabbed his head, feeling a throbbing pain right where Orion had cut him; it might be some sort of phantom pain that will remain there for a while.
“My son sure cut through you good; that’ll remain there as a reminder to not mess with him.”
“I-I wasn’t doing that! the monster that possessed me—Oh god! What have I done?! I’ve done so many terrible things! A-And Nightman, Jade Star, and Marvelous Woman! Where could they be?! I need to find them! And Martian Man, where is he?!”
“Martian Man… He was possessed by the Saurian God, and my son killed him.”
“W-What?!”
“His body was disintegrated and his soul destroyed…”
“N-No…”
Galaxy Man looked filled with despair, glancing at Bing Xue with eyes filled with sorrow and slight hope; he ran to her side, begging her, lowering his head, and asking her to bring him back.
“P-Please bring him back! I might be strong, but I cannot bring people back; I can’t do so many things…! You can do it right?! You can do it with your abilities…! P-Please tell me you can!”
“…”
Bing Xue looked at the man; despite his inexperience compared to hers, if the Dao of Hope inhabited his soul, it meant he was a man of purity, sincerity, and kindness like nobody else.
Although she had mostly neutral feelings about Galaxy Man before, she began to respect him a bit, despite everything.
“I will try once. If it doesn’t work, I won’t do anything else.”
“T-Thank you! Thank you so much…! I owe you! I owe you everything…”
Galaxy Man continued crying; despite being so burly and manly, his cries were like those of a child that had lost everything.
She moved to where the debris was, the exact location. She didn’t really know, but… It was worth giving it a shot.
“{Partial Time Reversal Formation}: {Targeted Time Reversion Revival}”
By reversing time within a certain area through a powerful and large formation using her River of Time and her own aura, Bing Xue gathered what remained of Martian Man into a single spot, and through time reversion, rapidly reversed every piece back together.
Small fragments of his soul were also accompanying them, as Galaxy Man saw in awe the miracle that nobody in his world could ever accomplish!
“T-This is incredible…”
FLAAAASH!
And then, out of nowhere, a green-skinned, bald Martian appeared, floating in midair, with his eyes closed, until he slowly opened them; they were completely red in color.
“A-Ah! Where… Where am I? What happened to me?”
“Martian Man! It’s me! Galaxy Man!”
Galaxy Man ran towards his friend, hugging him happily.
“Huh?”
Martian Man was still confused, as Bing Xue squinted her eyes.
“W-Who… Who are you?”
Martian Man pushed Galaxy Man away, looking at him with confusion.
“W-Wait, don’t you remember me? We are old friends! You and me…! We…”
“I don’t remember anybody named Galaxy Man.”
“Hmm…”
Bing Xue nodded as she sighed.
“It wasn’t perfect; I told you it wouldn’t be,” Bing Xue said. “It seems I was unable to recover him completely. Perhaps some fragments of his soul or brain that stored a lot of memories are gone for good… My son’s attack was incredibly devastating after all.”
“T-That’s…” Galaxy Man seemed a bit sad, but even then, he was grateful Martian Man was alive at all. “No, it’s fine… We can help him get new memories then. Come with me, Martian Man; I will tell you what has happened along the way!”
“H-Huh?” Martian Man was confused, but he went along for now, following Galaxy Man and Bing Xue back to Earth. “Okay…”
As they descended, he looked back at Mars for a moment, however.
“…”
