The Extra Seeks Chaos

Chapter 229 229: Initiating The Plan [End]

"Stop here."

Arin instantly stopped immediately he heard Fang's voice.

Tessa was standing beside Fang, and Arin was standing in front of them.

They were at the back of the storage room in the village.

Fang folded her arms as Tessa, who was beside her, stared at Arin.

"Alright, I'm listening," Fang said.

Arin nodded.

"You must have heard about what is going on, right?" Arin asked.

Fang squinted her eyes, observing Arin.

"Yes... The Vampires have attacked a few cities, though, I didn't expect them to attack this village," she replied.

"The attack of the Vampires affected the Academy," Tessa said.

When Chaos told Tessa that the location they would be coming to was Brownleaf Village, she told him that she had once come here with someone and that she knew the leader of the village.

Because of this, she had an important role to play in the plan.

"Affected the Academy?" Fang furrowed her brows. "How?"

Arin sighed.

"All Academies in the Kingdom have been shut down, and all the students have been assigned to different cities to join the army in those cities."

Fang's eyes widened a bit as she stared at Tessa as if asking if what Arin was saying is true.

Tessa nodded. "That's what happened."

Fang furrowed her brows.

"I knew it... If the Academies in the Kingdom have been shut down, then it's really serious..." she whispered.

Arin heard what Fang was whispering, making him curious.

"Wait... Apart from today, have the Vampires attacked here before?"

Fang shook her head as she folded her arms.

"No... But I knew that if they had already attacked five cities, then it was bound to be serious, so I made a request."

Arin didn't interrupt.

He just let her continue.

"I wrote a letter to the King asking for support in case the Vampires attacked, but deep down, I knew that the letter wouldn't get to him because it's from a small village like mine.

So, I wrote a letter to the Duke who it was most likely to get to, but there was no response. I wrote another one, and this time, I received a response, but I wasn't even surprised after seeing the response."

It seemed like Fang had even forgotten that Arin was supposed to be the one explaining who he was and what he was doing here because she just continued talking and even seemed to let her guard down.

"What was the response?" Tessa asked.

"They said they wouldn't be able to send some soldiers and support to this village..."

"That was all..." she added as her expression slowly began turning into anger. "They didn't even mention that they would consider it..."

"In summary, you can say this village has been abandoned."

'Villages will suffer a lot in this upcoming war,' Arin thought.

"I'm the only hope this village has, and I'm afraid that I won't be able to fully protect them all if Vampires attack."

She suddenly looked at Arin before continuing,

"That is why I must thank you first... Thank you for helping us defeat the Vampires."

"You're welcome," Arin said.

"We didn't want to join any army, so we decided to follow Tessa's advice and settle down in a village for now," he added.

'Pro liar mode activated,' Arin thought as he grinned inwardly.

"I see..." Fang muttered.

"And about the mask and cloak, I have a tendency to not show my face," Arin continued. "Moreover, they are both items that boost my strength, so I always keep them on."

"It's the same for the other masked lady you saw," Arin added. "As for the other two boys, they are both students like me and Tessa who decided to not join any army."

Fang believed that they were students, especially with Tessa being there.

As for the masks, she knew that there must surely be a reason why he was wearing it.

'Items that boost strength, huh?' Fang thought. 'I've heard of enchanted cloaks and masks before, so these might be one of them.'

Though she looked like she was still kinda hostile towards Arin, she was very thankful deep down.

Thankful for the fact that he came with Tessa and the others at the right time, just in time to help them.

Arin was the one who began killing the Vampires first, and he even killed six out of the twelve Vampires, which showed that he was powerful.

"So you all plan on settling down in this village, huh?" Fang muttered.

"Though, why don't any of you want to join an army?" she asked. "I mean, it's the best option."

"It's simple, really," Tessa replied. "We just want to be away from all that. Even my uncle told me that being in an army isn't as good as it seems. There are a lot of things attached to it."

"He's in the army and he advised me not to join, further strengthening my decision," she added.

Arin nodded in agreement before speaking.

"Please, just let us stay here, and in return, we'll protect the village."

He continued,

"Honestly, we didn't expect that the Vampires would also attack villages, but that doesn't mean we will run away from here because of that.

In return for staying here, we will protect the village if the Vampires attack."

"Hmmm..." Fang muttered.

It was a really tempting offer.

She knew that Tessa was strong.

And from what she saw today, she knew that this masked dude was also strong, including those who came with them.

If they all stayed in her village, then she would be confident that her village will be safe, especially if the only Vampires who attack are those that aren't stronger than them.

At least, from the strength she saw them exhibit, especially the masked dude, then she was sure of her village's safety.

As if knowing what Fang was thinking, Tessa smiled.

"And we're even stronger than you think we are..."

That was the last push Fang needed.

Instantly, she spoke.

"Alright. I accept. But..."

She stared at Arin and Tessa.

"Beast Tides happen from time to time, so if a Beast Tide happens, you'll also join in protecting the village."

Tessa nodded as Arin stretched out his hand.

"Deal..."

Fang stared at his outstretched hand before stretching out her own hand.

She shook him.

"Deal."

With that, they had come to an agreement.

"Alright, I guess we can head back now," Tessa said with a smile.

A smile that seemed to make Fang blush.

'Is she into girls...?' Arin thought.

Finally, they reached where Riya, Leon, and Ethan were standing.

Arin nodded, and Riya instantly understood that the mission was successful.

"I'll take you all to where you will be staying, and after that, I'll inform the villagers about what is going on," Fang said.

"Thank you," Riya said.

Fang smiled.

At least, from the few things she had noticed, they seemed to be polite and have a good character.

"I'll get rid of these bodies," Arin said.

Fang nodded.

"Alright, the others can come with me."

Tessa walked towards Arin before whispering, "I'll come with you."

With that, Riya, Leon, and Ethan began following Fang while discussing with her.

As for Arin and Tessa, they easily carried the bodies.

Well, technically, they didn't carry anything.

Arin just put the eleven bodies in his inventory since they were already dead.

Meanwhile, he dragged the red-haired Vampire by his hair.

He had once regained consciousness, but Arin sensed it and quickly delivered another chop to his neck, rendering him unconscious once again.

The both of them began walking towards the forest outside the city.

Tessa was twiddling her fingers, and Arin noticed it.

He had been with Tessa long enough to know what it meant.

Arin glanced at her.

"You have something to say. Say it."

Tessa quickly looked at him, slightly surprised.

"Uhm... No... It's nothing. It can wait."

"Are you sure?" Arin asked.

"Yes..." Tessa muttered.

They continued walking in silence again before Tessa spoke.

"That went better than I expected."

"True," Arin said. "The attack of the Vampires worked in our favour."

Tessa smiled.

"Now we just have to hope that Alex will get involved with all this."

"I'm sure he will," Arin said as they reached the forest and entered. "And like I told you before, the King will also get involved, after all, we've disobeyed him."

Tessa furrowed her brows.

"Hmm, not just because we didn't come to the castle, but also because we are with items directly from the Royal storage."

Tessa knew that the last reward they were given was really precious, after all, it was directly from the Royal storage, and moreover, it was powerful.

Though, she didn't know that there was more to these items than just being items.

They were BLESSED ITEMS!

Unlike Arin, she didn't know that they were blessed items neither does she know their origin.

"When the day breaks, everyone will finally realize our absence, and that's when it will all start," Arin said as he dropped the red-haired Vampire's body on the ground.

"And what do you plan on doing with him?" Tessa asked curiously as she folded her arms.

"Information," Arin replied with a grin.

'There are many ways to get information out of a person, and torture is most likely the most ideal option in this case,' Arin thought.

'But I won't be using knives or swords...'

His grin suddenly widened as he bent down, staring at the Vampire who was still unconscious.

"I have the best torture weapon just for you..."
