Ch.1.1
Ling's eyes locked onto the General's, a fierce determination burning within him. He knew that he couldn't defeat the General in a straight-up fight, not yet. But he had to escape, had to survive long enough to uncover the secrets of his past and claim his true destiny.
With a sudden burst of speed, Ling sprinted toward the nearby palace gates, the General and his guards hot on his heels. The orphan's feet pounded the stone floor, his heart racing with every step. He could feel the weight of the Dragon Emperor's last will bearing down upon him, driving him toward his goal.
As he approached the gates, Ling spotted a gap between the guards and made a break for it. He dived through the narrow opening, rolling across the cobblestones as the General's sword bit deep into the wooden gate, mere inches from his fleeing form.
Ling sprang to his feet, his eyes scanning the surrounding streets for any sign of pursuit. The Imperial Guards were closing in fast, their shouts and clangs of armor echoing through the night air.
Without hesitation, Ling sprinted down a nearby alleyway, his feet pounding the damp earth. The walls seemed to blur around him as he ran, the orphan's senses heightened to the maximum.
He burst out of the alleyway and onto the main street, the city's bustling nightlife swallowing him whole. Ling weaved through the crowds, his heart still racing from the narrow escape.
As he ran, the whispers of eternity grew louder, guiding him toward his destiny. The Dragon Emperor's last will had set him on this path, and now he had to see it through to the end
