The dragon's harem

Chapter 1151: Good Morning, Sunshine

On the ground, Altair froze. Her legs refused to move, and her eyes couldn't look away. The massive dragon in front of her stood as tall as the mountain behind, almost a kilometer tall and several kilometers long. Even if she were in her draconic form, he'll be able to swallow her with a single bite.

But unlike Gaia, who attacked, she could feel something else in her bones. Arad was still asleep, or at least didn't fully wake up. His gaze, while sharp and heavy, was that of inspection and not of malice. She had never felt such a painful and uncomfortable gaze thrown at her, but at least knew what to do.

She slowly moved back, shifted to her dragonic form, and started moving away from Gaia. Arad recognized her as one of his kind, so he wouldn't attack, and his attention had shifted to her. She has to keep his eyes away from Gaia until he wakes up.

What's more, Arad knows her unlike Gaia. Right now, something must be slowly turning inside his sleepy brain, trying to search his memories and recognize her. Three weeks of hibernation and an evolution, that's bound to make him more confused and disoriented than a human waking up from a coma.

The problem with Arad is that he isn't a human that two doctors or a few straps can keep from lashing out. He was a titanic dragon capable of destroying kingdoms with a single breath.

With her tail rattling, she moved further and further away from Gaia as Arad's massive head followed her. She gulped, ^What the worst that can happen? I'll just have to keep him busy for a few seconds. How much time had passed since I arrived? Five seconds, damn it. How long will it take his brain to wake up?^

It was then that she felt something strange. The desert was empty, but she seemed to have hit something. And this thing she hit… it felt like scales. All blood drained from her limbs as she slowly turned back. Another titanic dragon was standing there, the exact copy of Arad. She didn't notice him as her gaze was focused on Arad.

Arad's head turned back to Gaia as his clone kept an eye on Altair. This was bad, and Altair tried to speak but couldn't. Her throat dried, and her vision started to narrow, focused on the dragon in front of her. For a moment, she considered fighting back, but that won't buy her time. Worst, she could end up like Gaia with a hole in her torso. Or worse, eaten alive.

But to their luck, it was then that Arad's eyes shifted from draconic, cat-like eyes into round humanoid ones. The pressure on the two faded, and the dragon slowly pulled his head back. The clone also disappeared as if it never existed.

It took Arad eleven seconds to fully orient himself; half of it was thanks to Altair's presence. He knew her, and her presence helped pull him back to reality.

"This…" He said, his voice almost shattering Altair's ears. As he noticed her flinch, he then started whispering. "The desert, right?"

Gaia sighed, lay on her back, and looked at him with a tired face. "Good morning, sunshine. Want to apologize for putting your foot through my torso?"

Arad blinked; he couldn't exactly remember how he woke up. But a strange sense was left in his hazy mind, "Yeah, I can see traces of my magic on you. But… I believe you attacked me first."

A large smile appeared on her face. "I attack whoever I want, even you. And who said that sniffing the back of a lady's neck isn't a reason to be attacked?" She sat up with an energetic thud and glanced at him. "So, where is my apology?"

After looking at her for a second, Arad could recognize the strong spiritual magic in her. "You're the Earth Spirit queen?" He lifted an eyebrow, but in his draconic form, it was just a large bone plate that was above his eye.

"Mother Earth, now apologize."

Arad's eyes looked at her, the ground beneath his claws, the mountain destroyed behind his back, and the sparks of his magic still burning in her flesh…stone? Whatever her body was made from.

"I'm sorry. For everything."

"Can you shift back to your humanoid form?" Altair was already in her human form, and she approached, "It's hard to talk to you like this." He was indeed too large, loud, and gave them a sense of danger.

"I'm looking for clothes in my stomach. It has grown much larger, and my body seems to have grown as well." He went silent for a moment and then sighed, almost blowing the two away.

"I found some clothes, but I don't like them that much." He sighed, slowly shifting back to a human. The two gasped seeing him finally in his humanoid form.

Arad had grown taller again and now stood at almost ten feet tall, his muscular body grew a bit leaner, and he now had a thin beard on his face. He looked older, more mature, with a sharper face and silky black hair. But the two couldn't help but laugh, Gaia even rolled on the ground, holding her stomach in pain.

Arad was wearing one of Aella's robes, and it barely reached his knees. All of his clothes don't fit him anymore. He could've just worn his scales, but Altair could see through that, and he wouldn't be walking naked at her side and expecting her to keep a straight face. The robe was simple and white, but still.

Arad looked at them for a moment, "If you have a better idea, then enlighten me."

Gaia was still laughing with tears flowing from her eyes, "Listen… didn't you learn size magic from that fairy Plum? Use that to get a bit smaller."

Arad held his face. "You're right… damn it." He did wake up, but his mind still isn't fully there. And he could guess why, the evolution of his brain that Aria talked about. The large information she dumped into his mind, and his new sharp senses that his brain needed to sort.

Arad's body grew a bit smaller, and a new set of clothes appeared on him. This time, his regular clothes. But now, as he returned to his height of around seven feet, he looked a bit thinner than before.

"Will you keep growing larger?" Altair asked with a worried face. Arad thought about it for a moment, he now understood his body enough to reply.

"Depends on how much of my full power I want to use in the humanoid form."

But before he could explain more, Gaia stopped laughing, wiped the tears off her face, and waved her hand. Suddenly, a large pile of uranium ore appeared beside them. "First, your breakfast… well, two bites at least. But I can give you more."
