Dragon King's Harem Chapter 345. Wounded Pride I

Standing beside Evelina, I observed the scene.

Evelina and the other healers worked tirelessly. The air was thick with the smell of medicinal herbs and potions, mingling with the faint scent of blood and decay from the dragon's injuries.

Her brow furrowed in concentration, she seemed to be pouring every ounce of her strength into her healing efforts.

Across from her, two other healers worked diligently to treat the dragon's wounds.

They cleaned the tattered wing carefully, applying ointments and medicines made from herbs to prevent infection and promote healing.

The dragon had remained in that state for quite some time, its wound left exposed to the open air for who knew how long.

"Do you need anything, Your Majesty?" Evelina's voice broke the silence, her focus remaining on the injured dragon before her.

"That should be my question. Do you need anything?" I replied.

Whoever did this went all out, doing everything they could to humiliate him, to strip him of his power and leave him feeling helpless.

Those severed wings? They were like a slap in the face, a clear sign of how deep the envy and hatred ran from the people who wanted to tear him down.

In their eyes, cutting off his wings was not just an act of physical violence, but a symbolic attempt to erase his identity and force him into a life of shame and degradation.

They tried to turn him from a proud dragon into nothing more than a pathetic lizard—grounded, stuck, and unable to fly like he was born to. For a human, something like that might break him, make him give up. But for a dragon? A creature whose whole being is tied to pride and honor, that kind of suffering could crush him in ways no one could even imagine.

Evelina glanced at me, her expression weary but determined.

"I appreciate the offer, Your Majesty, but I have everything I need for now," she said softly.

I nodded.

"If there's anything you require, don't hesitate to ask."

"No. Everything I need is here,” Evelina repeated. “It's just that the wounds were worse than I thought,” she continued.

Her words gave me a moment of pause. Yet, despite the severity, Evelina remained composed.

“He… Does he have a chance of living a normal life if we try to make him a prosthetic wing?” I asked, my voice tinged with uncertainty.

The idea of prosthetic limbs was not new to me, but the prospect of creating one for a dragon presented unique challenges.

At Igixar, where advanced magic and magic instruments coexisted, prosthetic limbs were a common sight. However, the process of creating them was intricate and time-consuming, requiring specialized knowledge and resources that were not readily available. It was because all creatures could be shifted from their beast form to their humanoid form.

Evelina's response was filled with regret. She shook her head from side to side.

“I don't know,” she said softly, her tone heavy with sorrow.

“On the outside, you have seen how bad his condition was. But inside, his condition was much worse than that,” she continued.

“He experienced malnutrition and dehydration,” Evelina continued. "His magical flow has been compromised as a result of his prolonged stay in the damp and cold dungeon."

“He also has several illnesses that either take a long time to get better or maybe won't get better at all,” she added.

She shifted her gaze to the wounds on the dragon's broken wing.

“Some of his wounds are so bad that they have begun to rot,” Evelina explained, her voice tinged with concern. “We might have to amputate to prevent the infection from spreading further.”

“We are trying to disinfect it first and see how much of the wing we can save,” she continued, her tone determined despite the grim prognosis.

When I first laid eyes on the prisoners, I knew they were in rough shape, but I never imagined it was this severe.

"And not to mention, he might experience significant changes in his personality and behavior," Evelina chimed in, her voice tinged with concern.
