Dragon King's Harem Chapter 343. Prisoners

Jyne gasped, her hand instinctively covering her mouth in shock. Her eyes widened in horror as she took in the scene before her.

The two dragons lay limp and broken. One of them had a broken wing, hanging at an awkward angle.

The other dragon's wings were in a similar state, with only half remaining and the rest torn and tattered. It was a heartbreaking sight.

But it wasn't just them. Several other dragon tribes lay nearby in their humanoid forms. Their injuries were no less severe, with whip wounds crisscrossing their bodies, some of them still raw and oozing.

Evelina and the healers moved among them, tending to their wounds as best as they could, but the extent of their injuries was evident.

Many of the prisoners had lost their nails, a common form of torture inflicted by the lizards.

The scars of their ordeal were etched into their bodies, telling us the suffering they had endured. Despite Evelina's skill and care, I knew some wounds would never fully heal.

A member of the Serpent tribe, his once sleek and glossy scales were now marred by patches of missing scales as if he had been forcibly stripped of his outer layer.

But it wasn't just the Serpent tribe member who bore the brunt of their captors' cruelty. Nearby, a fairy lay on a cot, his wings torn and tattered. One of his wings was missing entirely, leaving him lopsided and unable to fly properly. Bruises mottled his skin. And to add to his suffering, one of his fingers was missing.

Jyne's voice broke the heavy silence. "This is so cruel..." she murmured, her eyes wide with horror at the sight before her. And I couldn't agree more.

I didn't say anything.

I could recall the sense of urgency that had gripped me when I saw them the first time. And though I had hesitated to reveal my portal skill to the lizards, the urgency had left me with no choice but to act swiftly and decisively.

Evelina and the healers' attention drew to us, causing them to look up from their work. They were ready to acknowledge my presence.

However, before they could act, I raised my hand in a firm yet reassuring manner, silently conveying that formalities were unnecessary.

Understanding my unspoken directive, Evelina and the healers returned to their duties without delay.

I approached Al, his intense expression caught my attention immediately.

He stood near the entrance, his hands emanating a dark aura characteristic of his witch tribe heritage. Between his palms floated a small leather pouch, barely the size of a palm. It was his magic pouch, a tool capable of storing items or creatures within a certain size and quantity for a period of time.

Al's focus remained fixed on the pouch, his brow furrowed in concentration.

“How's your pouch?” I inquired as I reached his side.

Al glanced up briefly, acknowledging my presence before returning his attention to the pouch. “A bit torn, considering the strain from accommodating so many people,” he replied, his tone matter-of-fact. “But it's nothing I can't mend,” he added, his confidence evident despite the damage.

I nodded.

“Those dragons must have taken up quite a bit of space,” I remarked.

Al nodded in agreement, a hint of exhaustion flickering across his features. “Indeed,” he admitted, his gaze returning to the pouch. “They're not the easiest passengers.”

“Do you need anything?” I asked.

"No thank you. I will order the servant to do it for me,” he replied politely. His soft chuckle echoed. “Which subordinate will order his king to get something for him?” he mused.

I chuckled lightly, understanding his point.

“I mean I can get something that isn't here with my portal skill,” I clarified.

His expression shifted slightly.

“I will tell you if I need it,” he conceded, his smile taking on a more genuine quality.

“Okay,” I affirmed, nodding in understanding. “Just tell me if you need it,” I added, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

His gaze met mine, and I could see a glimmer of gratitude in his eyes.

"Thank you for your hard work, Al," I expressed sincerely.

Al nodded appreciatively.

“Anytime, Your Majesty,” he replied. His smile curled up as he returned his gaze to his pouch, a glimmer of pride evident in his expression. “I am your servant, after all. It's my duty,” he stated.
