Dragon King's Harem Chapter 330. Clear Evidence
Argod’s PoV
Exiting the portal, we found ourselves in a dense forest, the air thick with the scent of moss and earth.
A massive structure, resembling a stone castle, loomed not far away, its chimneys exhaling plumes of smoke – a sign of its operational status.
The forest was like a giant curtain, hiding the factory tucked inside. But even with all that greenery, I spotted a flash of green crystal in the distance—sitting on top of a tower that looked like it came straight out of a dragon tribe palace knockoff.
The resemblance irked me, the lizard tribe's attempt at imitation almost comical. It was like they were trying way too hard to copy the dragons’ style, but totally missing the mark. That palace of theirs? A cheap knockoff. All it did was scream how far behind they really were.
Viperax's fiery rage lit up the air with swirling flames as he blasted out his fire skill. Honestly, a lizard trying to pull off dragon moves was kind of hilarious. Everyone could see it—his fire thing felt more like he was trying to be a dragon than actually using the earth powers he was supposed to be good at.
Al, standing across from him, swiftly erected his Shadow Barrier in response. It was an impressive display considering Al's status, and the fact that he could effectively deflect Viperax's fire was proof of his skill.
My own reaction was quick. With a thought, I activated my 'Shadow Walk' skill, morphing into a shadow and reappearing beside Al.
Viperax's flames danced futilely against Al's barrier.
I extended my hand, fingers poised with purpose. 'Freeze,' I commanded, unleashing my own skill.
The stream of ice surged forward, crashing into Viperax's fiery onslaught. The clash erupted in a cacophony of sound. A deafening boom accompanied by the sizzling hiss of elemental conflict.
The collision of fire and ice sent shockwaves through the air, creating a turbulent of opposing forces.
Once the clash broke out, a thick wave of steam rolled in, blanketing everything and killing visibility. The air was heavy with tension, and through the haze, I caught a glimpse of Al moving like he knew exactly what he was doing. He didn’t wait for me to say anything—just tapped into his Shadow Manipulation again, using the steam as perfect cover.
Taking advantage of the obscured battlefield, Al's shadow power resonated through the shadows, and they responded swiftly.
The shadows multiplied, appearing in greater numbers than before, and they moved with enhanced speed. With calculated precision, they closed in on Viperax, weaving around his frozen form and binding him in a web of darkness.
Through the dissipating mist, Viperax’s restrained form came into view—frozen by my ice skill and locked down by Al’s shadows. I stepped forward, voice firm. “Viperax, you agreed to this. Quit attacking me and my assistant!” Viperax writhed against the shadows, fire still burning in his lizard eyes like he hadn't gotten the memo.
His response was a thunderous roar, a defiant proclamation. "That should be my line! What do you want, Argod?!" he bellowed.
With a calm yet resolute demeanor, I pointed toward the imposing structure not far from us, the very epicenter of our dispute. "Like I said, I want to solve the problem between our tribes, and I've decided to start with the factory," I declared.
My gaze remained fixed on Viperax, my eyes unwavering.
"That building is the factory," I reiterated.
The day prior, I conducted a meticulous investigation using my Spy Worms and my True Sight skill.
This location, a stone's throw from the lizard tribe's capital, perfectly aligned with the witness's detailed account.
My findings painted a grim picture. The factory wasn’t just shady—it was basically a hidden prison. The people I’d managed to track down were locked up inside, most of them from the dragon tribe, with one Serpent and a lone fairy thrown in. What they were going through… it was brutal.
Venturing into the factory's dungeons, I found the chilling reality. The place reeked of pain. The dragon captives had been completely wrecked—wings torn up so badly some would never fly again, bodies covered in scars from straight-up torture. One of them was barely hanging on, their life force so weak it was a miracle they were still breathing.
The dire state of my kin fueled the urgency. There was no more time to play nice. Seeing them like that pushed me into action. Our whole deal with Viperax was based on fixing this nightmare, and now I was more fired up than ever to shut this place down and end the suffering—dragons, fairies, anyone caught up in it.
Al gestured towards the distant lizard capital. "As you can see, Your Majesty," Al began, his tone steady and unwavering, "it's under your nose. The location isn't far away from the capital, and we can still see your proud palace from here."
I maintained my focused gaze on Viperax, waiting for his response. The evidence was laid bare.
Viperax struggled to find words.
