The Country Life Diary of a Gangster’s Secretary

Chapter 133

The heavy metal door creaked open as Park Yul entered, his face radiating frustration as he tapped his phone.

"Ah, damn it..."

He sent a text and then, full of anger, threw his phone forcefully across the room. The phone hit the wall with a loud thud before clattering to the floor, its screen shattered. Park Yul ran his hand through his hair in frustration as he stared at the broken phone.

"That bastard wants me to go back to Pohang? He always does whatever he pleases."

A cloud of smoke wafted through the room as Park Yul lit a cigarette and slowly approached the sofa. Since Jung Se-jin had ordered him to wrap things up and head down, he had no choice but to comply, despite his reluctance. He didn’t want to go back there, but with his only source of income demanding it, he had no other option.

"Did those kids spray perfume in here or something?"

Park Yul picked up a large bag carelessly thrown on the floor by the desk. There was a faint, soapy scent lingering in the room, which made him suspect that his subordinates had been up to something strange again.

After gathering the items he needed, he approached the desk. The first thing he packed was the laptop. He was just about to open the drawer when—

The broken phone he had forgotten about buzzed, rattling on the floor. Annoyed, he roughly set the bag on the desk and picked up the phone, which was cracked and barely functional.

"Yeah, what is it? If you're done cleaning up, just load it into the car..."

He tossed the cigarette butt onto the floor and crushed it under his foot as he listened to the person on the other end of the line. His eyes scanned the room as he absorbed their words.

"Got it. I'll be there."

Ending the call, Park Yul exited the room.

"...."

About a minute passed before the silence in the room was broken by the sound of a chair being pushed back from the desk. Hyesung, who had been tightly curled up and hiding under the desk, slowly emerged, cautiously looking around.

"Phew..."

He sighed in relief. It seemed the man who had entered earlier had left without noticing him. Hyesung wiped his forehead with his sleeve. He wasn’t one to sweat easily, but the tension had drenched him, making him feel sticky and uncomfortable.

In the end, the very thing he had feared had happened. The original plan was to search the place while the gang members were away, find any evidence, and then slip out.

But they had returned much earlier than expected. Hyesung cautiously peeked through the gap in the curtains and looked outside. About four cars were haphazardly parked in front of the building.

They must all be back, and it wasn’t even 9:20 yet.
