Chapter 26: Chapter 026: Yisen, I no longer need your apology
When Xu Yisen heard Qin Muni’s words, he instinctively looked up at Qin Muni, who was sitting across from him, smiling gently.
Her expression was overly calm, as if she were evaluating his cooking skills rather than discussing the unfairness and harm he had caused her in the past.
In his memory, there seemed to have been a time... He had just returned home from a business trip and heard from Aunt Chen, the nanny, that Qin Muni had a severe cold.
When he went to Qin Muni’s room to check on her, Qin Muni had just woken up and asked him if he could make some porridge for her.
At the time, he seemed to want to agree, but then Xia Yuge’s assistant called, sounding anxious and saying that Xia Yuge had been in a car accident and was in the hospital.
What happened afterward? It seemed he told Qin Muni to let Aunt Chen know if she needed anything, then turned and left her room.
"I’m sorry."
The quiet restaurant was suddenly filled with a deep male voice; the words "I’m sorry" sounded exceptionally beautiful and sincere coming from his mouth.
His unexpected apology made Qin Muni look up in surprise.
Sitting across from her, Xu Yisen’s face showed a hint of regret, and his eyes, soft as flowing water, held shimmering waves as he looked at her.
Faced with his sincere gaze, Qin Muni reined in the surprise on her face, and her lips broke into a serene, crystal-clear smile like a spring of water.
"Mm."
She softly murmured, withdrew her gaze, and continued to scoop up porridge, gently blowing on it before putting it in her mouth.
Yet Xu Yisen had read her response from the way she looked at him just now.
Her gaze seemed to say to him... Yisen, I no longer need your apology.
"Munni."
"Hm?"
"Whether you need it or not, I still want to apologize to you. I’m sorry for the things I did that hurt you and for the times I overlooked your feelings."
His voice was as melodious as a song, like the elegant melodies played by a pianist, slowly flowing into Qin Muni’s ears and gradually reaching her heart.
She struggled to suppress the sudden surge of inexplicable emotions, and looking at the man with the refined features opposite her, she responded with a gentle smile, "Didn’t you already apologize when we divorced? There’s no need to apologize again."
After speaking, she put down the spoon in her hand. "I’m full, thank you for cooking; it was delicious. Just leave the dishes in the sink, and head home early after finishing. Good night."
Watching Qin Muni hurriedly get up and leave, Xu Yisen could clearly see her trying to avoid him, and a bitter smile unconsciously formed at the corners of his lips.
This must be what people often refer to as facing the consequences of your actions, because youthful recklessness hurt those around him.
And now, when he wanted to make amends, the other person didn’t even dare to give him a chance, fearing he would completely hurt her again.
After Qin Muni left the table, Xu Yisen also put down his spoon, cleaned up the dishes on the table, and carefully washed them in the kitchen.
It wasn’t until he left that Qin Muni walked out of her room, stood in the hallway, and stared down at the door to the house he had just closed.
...
When Qin Muni got up the next day, she saw an unread text on her phone screen from Xu Yisen’s secretary, Tang Haoliang.
In the message, Tang Haoliang informed Qin Muni to contact him if she was awake.
After hesitating for a few seconds, Qin Muni called Tang Haoliang, and their conversation ended in less than a minute.
She knew Xu Yisen was always efficient in his work, yet it was surprising that in just one morning, he had his secretary negotiate with the landlord, and all she had to do was go sign the papers.
After washing up and dressing, Qin Muni drove to the agreed-upon café.
What do you think?
