TOAD – Chapter 92
TOAD – Chapter 92
A girl spends her entire life hearing about this day, and mine had finally come. Of course, my wedding was a bit rocky. What wedding didn’t have its challenges? For me, I was knocked unconscious by an insane priest who wanted to castrate me, abducted by a group of adventures, and plotted against me with the intent of murder. This morning, I had to mind-control an entire army and then force my way into the capital just for the privilege to stand before my groom.
It was a shame that my bachelorette party got a little wild and I ended up pregnant with another man’s baby. My groom didn’t need to know about such details. After all, we had bigger things to worry about, such as the fact that two armies were on our doorstep laying siege on the city. One army demanded that the groom step down from his throne, and the other sought the head of the bride.
Putting all of that aside, the wedding was quite lovely. There were several hundred guests, all of those who had already thrown their lot in with King Oberon. For most of them, it wasn’t so much loyalty or choice, as an inability to change sides. They had already done actions which meant they could never reconcile with the opposing side, and would likely be hung alongside their King. They had no choice but to follow Oberon and hope for a miracle.
Yet, the faith in King Oberon had been waning since long before I had come into the mix. Only the oldest and most concentrated lines, which also meant those fewest in number, followed him. These were all old families, such as the Gorgon, the Spriggan, and the Oni. They all had family names, but it was easier to remain them by the race they represented. Gorgons were the children of basilisks, Spriggan the children of Ent, and Oni were the children of Ogres.
While the kingdom was seemingly falling apart at the seams, King Oberon had sealed up the city walls and moved forward with an unpopular wedding while ignoring the open rebellion just outside. To anyone who didn’t understand, and that was most of those present, it seemed like King Oberon was overtaken by madness. Some guests believed I had already bewitched him, and that King Oberon was a puppet under my control. At least, that’s what I gathered from the whispers I could hear.
The only people who weren’t looking at this wedding with confusion and distaste were the servants and soldiers maintaining order and making sure no one attempted anything funny. Many of them were now under my mental control, and they were little more than puppets. The rest were too terrified of becoming the next puppet to step out of line, especially after seeing their coworkers turned into zombies.
I’ll admit that I might have gone a bit overboard. After the Truthsayer became mine, I took a large quantity of the castle too. It was just enough to make me feel secure when facing the Demon Lord Oberon, but I might have bitten off a bit too much. Oberon hadn’t reacted to my overreach though. It was possible that Oberon simply wasn’t aware, but that presumed he was a fool. I didn’t believe him to be a fool, so the alternative was that we had an understanding between us.
It wasn’t a complex understanding. In a few hours, the gates would open and the armies would march through the streets, murdering wantonly. The entire city would become a bloodbath. He would harness that soul energy and turn himself into a god. At that point, he would be beyond mortality. He wouldn’t need the servants or the guards. He’d be an immortal being surrounded by worshippers. So, it didn’t matter that I stole them since I and my child were what would be left in the aftermath.
Presuming I survived, then I would have his child. They would rule the demon realm while the Demon King went on to rule the planet. There was just that tiny problem of me holding the dragon god’s child now. I had agreed almost impulsively. I had disliked the idea of the King essentially abandoning me with his child so he could live on high. I’d rather be the mother to a god than the wife of one. However, that was a problem for later.
“Do you, Demon King Oberon, take this bride to be yours until the darkness consumes us all?” An old draconic priest who somehow looked even more decrepit than the one I had met before finally asked.
“I do.” Oberon declared.
So, there I was, standing at the altar. We were in a massive church. The room used to be some kind of religious chamber for dragons, and so its size was massive. Only a small part of it was used to hold the wedding. To their credit, it was decorated beautifully. I had only been to one wedding, and I had gotten blackout drunk and didn’t remember much. I never would have guessed the next wedding I attended would be my own. To be honest, I had always seen myself as one of those girls who would run away when the time came to commit. Then again, this would be a rather short commitment. We’d have a single night of passion… and then? Whatever was going to happen, would happen. I took a deep breath. I was ready.
“Do you, Mother of Monsters, Aria, take this man to be yours until the darkness consumes us all?”
I looked up at the tall and imposing demon. Of anyone who had that name, he looked the most demonic. With his red skin, horns, and massive body, he was probably the manliest man a woman like me could ever get. I had no reason to deny it.
“I do,” I responded.
“Then, under this congregation of witnesses, I now pronounce you husband and wi-“
Boom!
At that moment, a loud sound erupted and the entire room shook. The priest looked a bit flustered and some were whispering until a guard ran up and spoke to Oberon. He spoke in a voice that could be heard by everyone though. It was likely that he wanted everyone to know, the consequence of someone who wasn’t a puppet. They could make these passive decisions on their own.
“The gates were blown open by some kind of powerful spell.” The young soldier spoke loudly. “The armies are both attacking in unison!”
Oberon nodded as if this was all expected before turning to the guests present. “It seems like we will have to postpone the wedding festivities for now. Attempt to push the armies outside of the gates.”
“That might not be possible…”
“Try your hardest.” Oberon snorted. “If you need to, collapse buildings, set fire. Delay them as long as possible. General Grand?”
“M-My lord!” An old man stood up and saluted, someone from the gorgon race.
“You will lead the charge. Anyone who resists… turn them to stone.”
“Y-yes my lord.” He nodded excitedly.
“I expect you all to put your lives on the line.” King Oberon bellowed. “However, if you must fall back into the castle, make sure to barricade it.”
“Where will you be?” One of the younger men present demanded.
It was a testament to how shaken everyone was and how much respect Oberon had lost that someone would dare challenge him.
“Insolence!” The Old gorgon slugged the boy, causing him to fall back and whimper.
“I’ll be making sure the victory is ours.” He responded, reaching out and grabbing me.
There were a few cries of excitement, but there was considerably more muttering in disappointment or anger. With my hand in his, he led me from the room. It looked like instead of fighting to protect the city, King Oberon was taking off to get his dick wet on his new wife. Well, it wasn’t like I didn’t understand.
“Will that be enough?” I asked.
I was worried that the discontent was enough that some of his men may turn to the other side or surrender to prevent death.
“General Grand used to be known for being as steady as a rock. He was loyal to a fault, and dogged in his pursuit of whatever goals he was asked to complete, regardless of the cost to human life. As he grew older, he only grew more reckless. I eventually pulled him from active duty because he would kill nearly as many of his troops as he’d kill the enemy. He is best suited to begin my ascension.”
Beginning Oberon’s ascension, was a pleasant way of saying he wanted to murder a few thousand civilians. I supposed that in the grand scheme of the world, the few thousand deaths would be meaningless.
I decided not to ask any more questions, and King Oberon didn’t offer any more answers. He pulled me into his official room and then closed the door.
“Well- how about…” I began when I felt two hands grab my dress and pull.
I heard a ripping sound as my dress was torn from my body. I was a bit stunned as I watched the beautiful thing fall to the ground. Most women coveted their wedding dresses and hung them up in a closet to collect dust for the next twenty years. My wedding dress didn’t last five minutes after I said I do. It was now just a pile of fabric on the floor. It felt like it might be an indicator of the relationship it represented.
I recovered from my shock quickly and spun around, smirking as I showed my body. “You like?”
Of course, I wasn’t naked. My dress was merely the frosting on top. Underneath was a set of exotic lingerie that was sexy enough to make even a pole dancer blush. If my body didn’t already take on a perfect sexual form, the outfit would have helped push things into place and exude sexiness. As it were, it only served as an outline, displaying all the goods that I had to offer.
Oberon barely looked before grabbing my lingerie and tearing it off of me too. “None of this is necessary. We do not have time for foreplay. I must go to the ritual room after I am finished here.”
I gasped. “You just want to go in raw and dry?”
He narrowed his eyes. “Given what I know about you, going in dry is an impossibility. You know as much as I do that your job here is to become pregnant as quickly as possible. If you are not capable of doing so, then this entire wedding was a mistake.”
Although my heart had become a rotted, desiccated thing, I still found the harshness of his words to hurt a little bit. He usually tolerated my flirtatious side and even if he looked annoyed, he allowed me to play a little. It seemed he was under a lot of stress and had dropped the façade. This was the true Demon King. Ruthless and focused on his goal.
I felt a bitterness inside of me, and any guilt I might have had for making that deal with Bahamut dissipated. In the end, I would be the one who had the last laugh.
“Fine then,” I said dryly. “How do you want to begin?”
He stared at me for a moment, but then he shrugged. “It doesn’t matter to me. What position is the best at making you pregnant? I will do that position.”
I thought about it for a moment. I had experienced a large flavor of different positions. I knew that Oberon had no intimacy within him, and I couldn’t force intimacy by doing missionary. I had fantasized about doing cowgirl on him, but now I didn’t feel like it. It had been a means of control, forcing him to be submissive, but I no longer felt like that would be enjoyable for me. I didn’t want to do work or be particularly intimate, but I did want to make things inconvenient for him. That’s when a position struck me.
“Standing… against the wall,” I smirked.
