Chapter 261
Chapter 261: It’s too late to leave now!
As the banquet ended, the heads of some families in Donghai City began to leave, with some staff members remaining in Donghai, like Ma Junjie and Xiao Feiyu, who had not yet achieved their goals.
Inside a villa, Ma Zhong sat silently on the sofa after listening to all of Ma Junjie’s arrangements. It took him a while before he stood up and said to Ma Junjie, “Xiaojie, you must leave quickly.”
“Leave? Uncle Zhong, do you mean I should leave Donghai immediately?” Ma Junjie asked in surprise.
Ma Zhong nodded. “If I’m not mistaken, we are now under comprehensive surveillance.”
Ma Junjie suddenly stood up. “How is that possible?”
Ma Zhong gave a bitter smile. “Xiaojie, this is Donghai, their territory. The Qin and Li families have been entrenched here for many years, and you just had to kidnap two important members of the Li family. Do you think the Li family hasn’t received the news?”
Ma Junjie scoffed, “So what if they have news? Li Ziyu is just a woman; what can she do to me?”
“Li Ziyu is indeed just a woman, but don’t forget, there’s also Su Lin.”
“What about Su Lin? What about a Human Immortal? I’ve already found out that Wang Yannian, along with Zhao Changlin and two other old men, are here in this villa area,” Ma Junjie said nonchalantly.
Ma Zhong sighed internally. Ma Junjie had been pampered since childhood, rarely facing any setbacks; it seemed he was now bound to suffer a big loss. While Wang Yannian indeed had several Human Immortals, they belonged to another party and were unrelated to them.
As for Su Lin, Ma Zhong knew of at least two who had recently broken through, not to mention those who had achieved breakthroughs long ago. It was clear that Bai Qikun had sided with Su Lin, leaving them at a complete disadvantage.
Although Ma Zhong was a peak Grandmaster, the gap between him and these Human Immortals was too great; he couldn’t protect Ma Junjie if they decided to act.
“You must leave immediately, or it will be too late,” he urged loudly.
“Why would it be too late? Uncle Zhong, what’s making you so anxious?”
Seeing that Ma Junjie was not feeling the urgency, Ma Zhong explained patiently, “Listen carefully to what I’m about to say…”
After hearing Ma Zhong’s words, Ma Junjie’s face turned pale. “Uncle Zhong, are you serious?”
“Could I be joking at a time like this? I suspect that Su Lin and his people are just waiting for you to make a move. The moment you threaten them with Li Ziyu’s father, they’ll act against you.”
“But I can’t feel any surveillance.”
“Xiaojie, have you been practicing so hard you’ve become foolish? This villa area is full of surveillance cameras, and the whole of Donghai is under Su Lin’s watch. Anything we do can be tracked easily; do you still think it’s the era of manual surveillance?”
“Also, Donghai is full of their informants. They don’t need to monitor us deliberately; knowing that we haven’t left Donghai is enough for them.”
“What are we waiting for? I’m leaving now.”
Seeing that Ma Junjie finally realized the gravity of the situation, Ma Zhong said, “I’m afraid it might already be too late to leave. They have several Human Immortals, and the people from Bureau 751 have also sided with them. They know our every move.”
“You should have told me earlier, so I could have made arrangements to get you out sooner.”
“I thought with Wang Yannian and the others here, I’d be completely safe. I didn’t expect Su Lin’s people to be so powerful.”
“Indeed, who would have thought that a rich second generation could gather so many Human Immortals? Xiaojie, we’re leaving now. We’ll go out on foot, and you won’t be taking your women. I’ll use my Qinggong to get you to the airport.”
Ma Junjie looked at Ma Zhong, “What about you, Uncle Zhong?”
Ma Zhong smiled slightly. “Someone from the Ma family has to stay in Donghai to handle affairs, right? Although I’m old, my skills aren’t wasted yet. I can’t fight them, but I can run.”
“Alright, no more dawdling. I’ll take you now.”
Suddenly, Ma Zhong paused, as if he thought of something. “Leaving now will probably be noticed. Can you contact the Xiao family to help cover for us? With their help, we might succeed.”
Ma Junjie’s expression turned ugly. “Xiao Feiyu is a typical opportunist. If I tell him I need to leave, he might ask for too much in return, and this might even drag the Liu family into this mess. Uncle, you should just take me.”
“Ah… it seems that’s the best option for now.”
“There’s no time to lose, Uncle, let’s leave now.”
“Okay…”
Without even taking the time to pack, Ma Junjie was whisked away by Ma Zhong. As they left the villa, Bai Qikun from the Bureau 751’s Donghai office received the news.
In his office, Bai Qikun hung up the phone and shook his head. “They’ve only just realized it; it’s already too late. It looks like Su Lin’s plan to play a long game is ruined. We need to act now.”
He took out his cell phone to call Su Lin. Twenty minutes later, as Ma Zhong was rushing Ma Junjie to the airport, he suddenly felt an overwhelming presence locking onto him.
“One step slow. Xiaojie, I’m afraid we can’t escape now.”
Ma Junjie also felt the pressure as they descended from the sky and looked towards a small break on the outskirts of the airport. A woman in plain clothes with a sword on her back was looking at them indifferently.
Her gaze was mild, but the aura she emitted was ferocious. Facing such a presence, Ma Junjie and Ma Zhong had no will to resist, knowing resistance meant death. They didn’t even dare to show a trace of hostility.
Ma Zhong was particularly amazed by He Suxin’s youth. She was at least twenty years younger than him but was a level higher in realm. The murderous aura surrounding her body was palpable even from a distance.
Ma Junjie asked in fear, “Uncle Zhong, are we going to die here?”
“I… don’t know.”
He Suxin rose into the air like floating catkins, moving closer to them in just a couple of steps. Looking down at Ma Junjie and Ma Zhong, she said indifferently, “You two, come with me.”
“Sen… Senior… we…”
Before Ma Zhong could muster the courage to finish, He Suxin, without any emotion, interrupted, “If you don’t come with me, you die.”
What do you think?
