Ye Chen remained the coolest among them. He said, “Don’t let a few provocations get to you, they’re mere words.”

“Words? This isn’t just about words. They’re declaring war on us. If we stay inactive, it’s an outright surrender, it implies that we are cowards. We’ll never be able to hold our heads up.”

Jingxing chimed in, “Exactly, we can’t avoid this dispute anymore. It’s unavoidable. We must act, we can’t let them rule us.”

“Act? How? Beat them up? Fight them?” Ye Chen questioned. “I don’t think fighting would solve the problem, though there is indeed a problem, we should focus on resolving it.”

Jingxing retorted, “For someone like him, he won’t change unless we intervene. We must take action.”

Haotian added, “Tonight, Yu Qing is supposed to go over to his place. The incident last night ruined our mood. So tonight, we should retaliate.”

After hearing this, Jingxing agreed, “Exactly, they ruined our mood, and yet they’re comfortably spending the night. It wouldn’t be fair if we let them have a peaceful night.”

“But we can’t just let them spend the night peacefully.” Haotian had already lost his patience.

Jingxing suddenly had a thought and said, “I heard that the guy has a close female friend who probably has no idea about tonight’s activities.”

“Then we should invite them all and tell them about tonight. Also, let Guo Yuqing know what kind of a scoundrel he is.”

Zhan Ze looked at them.

“So when things get out of control, it’d certainly be fun to watch. We won’t even have to step in, we’ll just let his women handle it. That way, Guo Yuqing will know what kind of person he truly is,” said Haotian.

Jingxing added, “Breaking into his yard won’t be as simple. He messed with us last night, so he’ll be prepared for us tonight.”

Upon hearing this, Haotian said, “We can help them infiltrate, we’ll just escort them in, simple!”

Jingxing nodded, “Sounds good. It’s sure to be chaotic.”

“That way, Guo Yuqing can fully understand what kind of person he truly is.” Haotian noted.

Jingxing, now excited, added, “Exactly. We will finally unveil his true face. Zhan Ze, what do you think?”

Zhan Ze pondered briefly, unable to think of a better plan, he nodded. He was already bristling with fury, even considering burning down that scum’s courtyard.

“It’s getting late. We still have to arrange a meeting with those girls.”

Zhan Ze inquired, “When is that scumbag wanting Guo Yuqing to come over?”

“Probably around dinnertime.” Jingxing responded.

“Then let’s ask them to come over for dinner as well and say it was Haoyu who invited them,” Haotian suggested.

Zhan Ze nodded and said, “Right.”

Haotian added, “We still have time. There’s plenty of it.”

“Let’s ask them to come around dusk.”

“Best if they all come together. We will all enter together.”

“I wonder if these girls know how many girls this scumbag has around him.”

“Tonight’s show will be entertaining,” Haotian mused.

Zhan Ze smirked and said, “He ruined my fun last night. He better not dream of having a peaceful night.”

Ye Chen listened quietly on the side.

Zhan Ze soon gave out instructions.

After last night’s event at Zhan Ze’s courtyard, Haoyu was inspired to keep tonight’s event simple. He decided not to invite too many people.

Haoyu asked Dongfang Tang, “Do you think Zhan Ze will cause trouble tonight?”

“I don’t know.”

“Just to be safe, tell the guards not to let those guys in tonight.”

“Rest assured, they will not be allowed to enter.”

Zhan Ze and the others had already had their dinner early in the morning. Ye Chen saw Zhan Ze bringing fireworks over but didn’t understand why.

“I forgot to light them yesterday,” Young Master Ze said.

“Are you planning to light them tonight for them to see?” Ye Chen asked curiously.

“Yes, to entertain them.”

“These aren’t fireworks, they’re firecrackers.” Ye Chen realized and asked, “Zhan Ze, what are you up to?”

“Relax, you don’t need to worry.” Zhan Ze handed the firecrackers to Ye Chen, instructing, “Keep an eye out here, make sure they enter. I’ll go check if Haotian and Jingxing have arranged everything.” He also handed half a roast chicken wrapped in paper to Ye Chen. “Eat if you’re hungry, just wait for us.”

Ye Chen nodded, found a spot, and sat down.

“Don’t just read the books, we need to let Guo Yuqing know what kind of person he truly is.”

Ye Chen nodded again.

“I’m leaving now.”

Ye Chen retreated under the tree, seated at the base, facing Haoyu’s courtyard.

Unconsciously, the sun had started to set, it was dusk. Everything was quiet.

He suddenly longed for his village, though all he could do was reminisce. All of that was now the past, but without a proper farewell, everything happened so fast. Now he was here, living a new life.

Just as he was thinking, voices came from over there, interrupting his attention. Looking, it was Shi Zi following Yu Qing, heading this way.

He heard Yu Qing say, “After bringing you here, you should finally feel at ease!”

“I came to protect you. If anything happens, I won’t be able to explain to Zhan Ze.”

“Hehe, it’s not as terrifying as you make it sound.”

“You don’t even have a shred of caution! I’m somewhat afraid for you. You’re so stubborn. What are you coming here for?”

Yu Qing said, “Hey, last night, with everything that happened, everyone said their piece. How can you still not agree?”

Ye Chen quickly lay on the ground, nibbling on roast chicken, hiding next to a large tree, as he watched the two people approaching.

It seemed that they were heading the way he was lying. Under the sunlight, that girl became even more beautiful. She seemed not to require any adornment to be so captivating. Last night, he didn’t see her clearly. He wondered whether it was the glow of the evening sky or the darkness of last night that had made her more beautiful.

Shi Zi wasn’t lazy either, but she had the wrong partner. A woman really shouldn’t casually pair up with a beautiful woman, as it would highlight all her deficiencies.

“By doing so, have you ever considered whether Zhan Ze will be upset?” the lioness mother said.

The two women continued to walk away.

When they reached the courtyard, they were quickly welcomed in after a couple of words.

Ye Chen continued to eat, finding the roast chicken really nice and tasty. He had gained some weight recently.

Before long, Zhan Ze rushed back anxiously, asking as soon as he returned, “How is it? Have they entered yet?”

“Around one hour ago, Yu Qing and Shi Zi went in. They were really well dressed up.”

Zhan Ze gave a stern knock on his head, knowing that he was teasing him.

Ye Chen comfortingly said, “With Shi Zi, you can rest assured.”

“Hehe, that girl, after a couple of drinks, she forgets everything. She’ll certainly be the first one to be taken advantage of.”

“Are they really that wild?”

“Do you think I’m joking? They’re worse than animals!” said Zhan Ze.

Ye Chen chuckled and asked, “What are you planning to do with all these firecrackers?”

“You’ll know later. Without firecrackers, how are we supposed to get them in with so many people around?”

“That makes some sense.”

At that moment, six men were guarding the door.

“Nothing will go wrong, right?”

“No, if anything happens, I’m here. I’ll take care of it.”

Upon hearing that, Ye Chen chuckled.

It was a while before Zhan Ze opened his eyes. The colorful evening glow faded quickly. Zhan Ze said again, “In a bit, you’ll be responsible for lighting the firecrackers. Do it in that corner, light the firecracker, and throw it over.”

“When I throw it over, won’t it explode on them?”

“Did he catch all of this himself?” Shi Zi asked.
