Chapter 847 847: Innate Ability
"What did you say?" Sullivan stood up, his eyes wide open and his body shaking.
"The group has successfully accomplished all the tasks. There was also an anomaly, a mutant with a unique ability."
"No. After that!" Sullivan gritted his teeth.
"Nathan used an absolute element to keep the mutant at bay, while the rest of the girls took care of the remaining aliens. And ultimately, they defeated the mutant by taking advantage of the absolute element."
"Absolute ice element… Did he possess such a thing?" Sullivan was shaken. He understood fully what kind of element it was.
"Yes." Layfon nodded. "The elements are classified into five ranks, depending on their rarity. The lowest rank consists of the most basic elements such as fire, water, earth, lightning, and plants.
"The second rank is a slightly rarer element such as magma, ice, or light and dark elements.
"The third rank consists of an element of that peak with slight mutation. For example, the Ice Prince in the Liaystian Kingdom has a Snow and Ice Element, Duke Coline has Hell Flame, or even the Beast Magia from the Beast Kingdom has a Living Plant element.
"The fourth rank is a realm that is given only to the absolute elements like absolute fire or absolute ice, heavenly lightning, and so on.
"Last but not least, it's a world-changing element such as space, time, life, and death.
"While it's true that absolute elements are rare, people from the second or third ranks tend to strengthen their elements, reaching a level that can be similar to an absolute element. Still, someone with an absolute element from the start can go beyond that level."
Sullivan's expression turned grim. "And he actually has such an element?"
"…" Layfon couldn't say anything. Nathan was truly monstrous. Even if he could sing a hundred praises for Selena's talent, he would run out words for Nathan.
Sullivan took a deep breath before saying, "Keep this information a secret. I'll handle it directly."
"Yes." Layfon nodded. Without saying anything, Layfon knew Sullivan would have to report such a matter to the king. This was the first time they had a summoner not only good at inventing things, but he also had unique familiars and absolute elements.
Each of the three alone could allow him to go to the top, but Nathan possessed all of them.
If other kingdoms knew about it, there was a high chance they would try to possess Nathan. This time, they might even come for his life despite the current situation they were facing.
…
Meanwhile, Nathan and the others were staring at the mountain of cores they had gathered.
"Are these really the things we got? Are we going to sort it or something? Who is going to do it?" Flora asked, causing them to glance at each other.
"It will take a while, but we might be able to do it." Selena squinted her eyes.
"Yes. The problem is that there are about eight thousand cores here." Flora smiled wryly. "How about we separate our roles? Since most of them are proto-class cores, we will have two people to separate them. The remaining four will divide it into mutant cores, juvenile class cores, mature class cores, and warrior class cores. Of course, someone helps the others if you are done and familiars are welcome to help."
"Fair enough." Selena nodded in agreement.
"But before that, why don't we get at least a good night's sleep first? We're tired after all the battles in the past few days." Sera asked, her head hanging low.
"Indeed. Let's do it tomorrow, maybe after we get the information from Sir Sullivan." Nathan turned to Selena. "After getting the information, we will have to wait until my teacher returns so that we can ask about the bloodstone and the method we've come up with. If it's possible, we will rescue him from there and bring him home so that Charlotte can help us with the summoning ritual.
"If it's not, we will wait until we get an answer before helping him. What do you think?"
Selena shook her head with a smile. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm desperate, but I'm still able to think about it logically. Think what you believe to be the best. I will fully respect your decision. I won't be able to forgive myself if I try to save him without any concrete plan, which results in my father dying because of my reckless action."
Nathan smiled back. "All right. In that case, let's go back. Ah, Sera, Selena, Flora. You three come with me for a bit."
"Hmm?" Sera tilted her head in confusion while Flora and Selena knew Nathan wanted to talk about the absolute ice element.
Alavenya and Noelle could only exchange looks, knowing that it wasn't their place to know about it, which was understandable.
Nathan, on the other hand, thought this was probably a good time to tell them about it.
Once they gathered in the room, Nathan's expression turned solemn.
Flora felt like she needed to say something first, considering her position. "If you're going to say anything about that element, don't worry, I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to. I understand what kind of implication you will get if it's known.
"However, I don't think Layfon will keep quiet about it, and Duke Sullivan will most likely report it to my father. Do you want me to stop him?"
Selena felt a bit bad that Nathan had to reveal his secret because of her. At the same time, she didn't know what kind of secret Nathan had. After all, the first time he revealed that secret, his element was supposed to be wind.
"It's not about elements… It's something even more special." Selena shook her head.
"Huh?" Flora tilted her head in confusion.
"Something even more special?" Sera couldn't think of anything that could describe it.
Nathan nodded. "Indeed. It's not about the absolute element, and you don't have to stop him from telling the king. In fact, it might be convenient that they think it's an absolute element.
"After all, according to my teacher and Charlotte, the thing I possess is not any element. Instead, it's an ability that only Elysion Aquamoon possesses. It's called Innate Ability."
What do you think?
