Chapter 102 102: Cheater
"Were you able to get the information I asked for?"
Maddison nodded and she sent him something in the form of a message. It was a floor plan, and Azrael's brow rose in surprise when he saw it.
How in the world did she manage to get Harold's entire floor plan?
"Harold's mansion was used on an online reality show. Rich celebrities sometimes use his house to host things like that, so I watched all the episodes they filmed in his house, and I put together a rough draft of what it should look like."
Azrael was stunned.
There was no way Azrael would have been able to look through so many clips just to get the blueprints. He couldn't even imagine how many clips Maddison must have gone through.
Azrael grinned gratefully.
"Thanks. This should be enough."
Maddison was surprised.
"Really? Isn't there anything else I can do to help?"
Maddison's eagerness started to show again, and Azrael shook his head.
"You've done plenty, Maddison. I mean, the only thing I'll need is a distraction that'll let me slip through the crowds at the party without anyone noticing, but—"
"That's fine!"
Azrael blinked. He didn't think Maddison would want to get that sort of attention at the party, so he had already assumed she would refuse.
"You'll do it?"
Maddison nodded as they both entered the shuttle that would take them to the school gate. Maddison spoke up.
"I already decided to help, so just ask for anything you need at all."
Azrael felt a small smile spread on his lips as he refocused on the road ahead of them while the shuttle kept going.
Azrael didn't understand what was making Maddison so eager to help him, but he wasn't going to turn away the offer. It would really help him if she provided enough of a distraction.
They got to the school gate and saw Maddison's car waiting there for her. Before she left, she asked Azrael when he would be ready for the party.
Maddison intended to pick him up using her family car, and Azrael really didn't mind since he had no other way of getting to the party other than public transport.
And Azrael had a feeling that public transport wouldn't be allowed into the high-end Emerald Estate.
"I should be ready by 8."
"Alright, I'll pick you up at the dorm."
Maddison hesitated for a moment before she carefully stepped forward and gave Azrael a hug. Azrael didn't move into the hug, and he just allowed her to hold him for a few seconds before she turned and waved while heading to her car.
Azrael simply watched calmly as Maddison's car took off before he put in his AirPods and headed back to the dorms.
…
[The Government Funded Dorm]
Azrael was standing in the bathroom dressing up.
He wore a skintight long-sleeved t-shirt and boxers before he put on the black trousers and dress shirt, then draped the suit over them all. He then put on his tie and buttoned up before looking himself over.
…Not bad.
Azrael knew that the suit Cleopatra got for him was going to be very noticeable, so he would take off the suit when he wanted to start his mission.
Azrael took the black mask and hid it in one of the pockets of the suit. He checked to make sure that it wasn't noticeable, and he nodded when he saw there was no bump.
The suit was very well-made.
Azrael put on his cufflinks and black gloves to hide the rot on his right hand, then he wore the shoes that Cleopatra got him before he stepped out of the bathroom.
"WOOOOAHHH!!"
"Boss, you look like one of them superstars!"
"Are you going on a date, boss!?"
"Is it with the student council president!? Boss, give me her sister's number!"
"You're so handsome, boss!"
The other boys in the room had all been sitting around working on their homework when Azrael went in to change, and once he stepped out, they couldn't contain their shock.
Azrael looked every part like one of the movie stars they sometimes saw on TV.
Azrael grinned at his roommates and told them to get back to what they had been doing. It felt nice to be complimented, but Azrael wasn't used to it.
"Boss, there's someone here for you!"
A voice shouted from the dorm common area, and Azrael looked at the time to see that it was already eight.
That must be Maddison.
The other boys in the room all looked at each other in surprise once they heard that there was someone there for Azrael, and before Azrael could stop them, they all charged out of the room like wild animals!
"It's the boss's girlfriend!!"
One of the boys shouted in excitement as they followed the other boys, and Azrael scoffed as he started to walk out as well.
Azrael was already looking for a new place to stay once he left the dorms, so it was only a matter of time before he no longer had to deal with the antics of these crazy guys.
Outside the room, the children sat around the various benches, looking at the door with wide, disbelieving eyes.
Some of the nuns who were in charge of taking care of the kids were also standing around, and none of them could take their eyes off the person waiting there.
It was Maddison.
And she looked like an angel in black.
Maddison had on a long, sleeveless black gown that hugged her maturing bust and wide hips very nicely. On her hands, she had on long black gloves that came all the way up to her biceps, and she had put on some minimal makeup to make herself look even better.
For the first time in his life, Azrael felt his breath leave him.
Maddison was shuffling nervously at the door. There was a blush on her face, and she looked like she didn't want to be there.
Maddison had actually been waiting outside the dorm, and it was the Matron who saw her and dragged her inside once she said that she was here for Azrael.
The old Matron was giving Azrael the stink eye as she wondered what this young man was up to.
Yesterday, one beautiful girl came to take him to get his nice suit, and now another girl was showing up to take him to a party.
Was Azrael some sort of playboy with multiple girlfriends?
Azrael stepped up to Maddison, and Maddison looked up at him with her blush deepening.
"Can we go?"
Azrael laughed when Maddison said this, and he immediately understood that she was uncomfortable with all the stares.
Azrael turned to the Matron and told her that he might not be back till early tomorrow morning.
The Matron just sighed while putting a hand on her cheek.
She really wanted to ask Azrael about Cleopatra, but she decided that this wasn't the time or place.
"Take care of yourself, Azrael. And make sure you both are careful out there. There's still news of that Black Mask killer going around."
Azrael nodded at the Matron before guiding Maddison out, but one of the children behind him suddenly shouted.
"Azrael is a cheater!"
The person who shouted was a girl who had seen Azrael going out with Cleopatra earlier.
The children didn't understand what was going on, so she immediately assumed that Azrael was cheating on his partner.
One of the boys beside her immediately put his hand over her mouth to make her keep quiet, and Azrael just kept guiding Maddison out.
Maddison looked surprised by the girl's shout and asked,
"What was she talking about?"
Azrael smiled and put his hand on Maddison's lower back, and Maddison felt a shiver run down her spine as her blush increased.
"It's nothing. She's just playing around."
Maddison nodded at Azrael's answer, and then they both headed toward her car.
…
The Emerald Estate was a wide expanse of land on the southeastern corner of the city where only the rich and powerful had the opportunity to live.
Every house in the estate had its own large portion of land that separated it from other houses. This gave the residents privacy and a beautiful scenery that made the price they were paying for the house worthwhile.
That night, the large patch of land where Harold Sabastinie's house was located was brightly lit with moderate decorations.
Multiple cars were in a straight line, moving along the road leading up to the house.
It was a large, multi-floored structure with a modern design.
A large gate led into the compound, and on either side of the gate, large gargoyles stood encased in stone. In the middle of the large compound, there was a fountain that released water that glowed with a bright golden light, and beyond the fountain was the mansion itself.
There were large stairs leading up to the house, and on either side of those stairs were more gargoyles encased in stone.
The sun had already set, casting the mansion and its inhabitants in the pale light of the moon.
Everyone could tell that Harold Sabastine had truly gone all out for Sunny's birthday party.
What do you think?
