STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

About 20 minutes later,

Jeremy continues to walk forward. As he walks further, the sense of uneasiness grows. He reduces the light illumination on the gadget so as not to startle the beasts.

Screech!

Then he sees a rat beast attracted by the light charging towards him. He makes a simple slash and cuts down the Tier-2 rat beast.

Puchak!

Blood splatters on the ground. The disgusting smell spreads as well. Right now, he is halfway down in the passage.

He knows this smell might attract other beasts nearby. So he begins rushing forward while carrying the gadget. The illumination shows the path ahead.

Not long after, he encounters a crossroads. As he had guessed previously, the rat beasts have dug up passages leading to different locations.

He doesn't know which route to select. But he is not getting a good feeling from any of these routes. The unknown egg, which was silent for some time, now starts moving again.

His eyes light up. He wonders what to do. Now he can follow the guidance of the unknown beast egg inside the mental zone.

Jeremy then looks at the paths leading straight, left, and right. He takes a step into the left path. But the unknown beast egg stops shaking.

Seeing that, he returns to the previous spot. The unknown beast egg moves again. Then he tries stepping into the right path. Yet the result is the same.

Finally, he continues to walk forward. The unknown beast doesn't stop shaking. His mouth curves into an arc. He doesn't know what's attracting his lifeline beast.

Even after coming halfway down here, there was nothing except the crossroads. Jeremy's eyes flicker. He decides to follow the route even if it leads outside the city.

Swoosh!

He then continues to move forward.

Outside,

Betsy and Daniel are getting impatient. It's been more than half an hour since they received Jeremy's last message.

Yet there is no update so far. They don't know what's going on down there.

Daniel loses his cool and tries to contact Jeremy. But there is signal interference.

"Looks like Brother Jeremy has gone deeper. What do we do now?" Daniel asks.

"Jeremy is strong. There is no doubt. But what if he encounters trouble?" Betsy utters.

"Like?" Daniel asks.

Right now, they are standing in front of the dilapidated building. At this point, the people from the city authorities have declared this place a restricted area.

So they are not getting disturbed by locals. If they want, they could enter the sinkhole to explore.

Betsy shakes her head and says, "I don't have any good feelings about this mission."

She doesn't want to scare Daniel. But she thinks there could be a Tier-4 rat beast behind this incident. That's why she is hesitating to go down there.

If she goes below, she is sure that Daniel will follow.

"Let's wait for a little longer. If Brother Jeremy hasn't returned by then, we should inform Instructor Jacob."

"This mission is given by the First Year Department Head. I'm sure he will do something else," Daniel Stone says.

"You've said something wise. Let's wait a few more minutes," Betsy Lowe agrees.

Time passes,

It is post noon; both are standing like statues. There is still no news from Jeremy. They had made a decision to inform Instructor Jacob earlier.

"Call him," Betsy says.

"Okay," Daniel replies before calling Instructor Jacob. When the connection is established,

Instructor Jacob inquires about their mission. Daniel Stone starts to explain what's going on.

A few minutes later,

"Sinkhole in the middle of the city?"

"That kid is investigating alone. Has he gone mad?" Jacob says with anger.

He didn't expect Jeremy and the others to find out about such a place. The investigation was supposed to be carried out by high-powered beast tamers.

What if there is a greater danger hidden underground?

"You guys wait for me there. I'll be in front of the Department Head," After saying that, he ends the call.

"Damn, that kid doesn't let anyone have peaceful days," he utters, thinking about Jeremy Night. If it were other beast tamers, they would have reported the sinkhole and returned to the university.

But Jeremy is doing everything one step further.

Time passes,

Inside the passage:

Jeremy has gotten closer to the source that is attracting the unknown egg beast because the movement of the unknown egg beast has become stronger.

When he looks at the time, he finds out that it has been close to an hour since he left his friends up there.

Jeremy pushes down these thoughts before going forward.

Compared to before, the passage has become narrower and the disgusting smell has increased. He thinks the rat beasts have dug wider paths in the middle of the city.

But as he gets closer to the entrance/exit, the path becomes narrower. It doesn't take long before he reaches the end of the passage.

Seeing a hole appearing above the passage, he stops his movements. He doesn't know where this sinkhole is located.

But he hasn't found any rat beasts so far. Yet the shaking of the unknown egg has grown stronger. After calming his heart, he decides to confront what's ahead.

He then walks up to the hole and tries to climb up to the surface. Fortunately, his physique is stronger. He manages to climb up after a few attempts.

When he appears above the surface, Jeremy is stunned by the scene in front of him. He is surrounded by vegetation and greenery.

He raises his head to take a good look at his surroundings. He doesn't find a single building structure.

Gulp!

Jeremy gulps down his saliva. He doesn't know where he is right now. Is this place inside City A or what? While he is confused,the unknown beast egg movements bring him back to reality.

Then he collects his thoughts before following the unknown beast movements to investigate the place. He thinks he is going to find out a shocking secret in this place.
