SSS rank Mother-In-Law to an Invincible Family

Chapter 402: Five Months Later

"It's gonna be a long time before we see anyone like that again."

"I'm just glad it's over. Now I can relax and enjoy the rest of my break."

And so, the first event of the young generation competition came to a close.

Afterward, the representative spent a few more days in the city before they started leaving one by one.

Soon, five months passed.

During this time, the world had not stood still in the aftermath of the competition. In fact, everything had moved at an incredible pace.

The major families had officially approved the formation of a Unified Army, a force designed to be both the sword and shield of the world.

This decision, though monumental, had come as no surprise as everyone knew that this kind of force is required and so no one is stupid enough to reject this offer where you are not required to do much other than follow the Xu family's lead.

At the same time, the construction of the World Upgrade Altars was nearing completion.

All the necessary materials had been gathered, the formations had been set, and the only thing remaining was the final labor to bring everything together.

With the vast workforce available, this was progressing smoothly.

Amidst all these developments, Xu Qianghua sat in his office, reviewing intelligence reports. The air in the room was filled with a sense of quiet focus.

A knock sounded, breaking the silence.

"Come in," Xu Qianghua said, his gaze focused on the report.

Yan Yuehua entered, his expression calm.

"The reports from the past few months have been consolidated," Yan Yuehua began, placing a jade slip on his desk. "As expected, the Unified Army's formation has been met with little resistance.

All major factions understood the necessity of it, so there were no delays in approving it. The training programs for the recruits have also begun."

Xu Qianghua nodded, scanning through the details. Everything was progressing as planned.

"And the altar construction?" he asked.

"Nearly complete," Yan Yuehua confirmed. "We've had no significant setbacks. The formation specialists report that all components are in place, and the scheduled activation will proceed without issue."

Xu Qianghua leaned back slightly, satisfied with the progress. However, he knew that internal affairs were only one part of the equation. There was still the external threat lurking in the void.

As if reading his thoughts, Yan Yuehua's eyes gleamed. "There's another matter—one I believe you will find most interesting."

Xu Qianghua raised an eyebrow. "Go on."

She reached into her spatial ring and placed a crystalline storage cube on the desk. "We managed to crack the black box insect we recovered from the Zerg exploration ship."

A spark of excitement flickered across Xu Qianghua's face. The black box insect is something he had been looking forward to as this insect not only has the detailed information of the Zerg.

But they also have the void chart, which is something that any space-faring race needs as this is the only way to navigate across the void.

"What did you discover?" he asked.

Yan Yuehua tapped the storage cube, and a projection flickered to life above the desk. It displayed streams of encrypted data, broken apart and translated into readable text and diagrams.

"The insect operates exactly like a black box recorder on a ship. It stores all commands, mission logs, and strategic information, void chart—everything the Zerg ship was tasked with before its destruction."

Xu Qianghua studied the information carefully. "And what have we learned?"

Yan Yuehua's expression turned serious. "The ship we destroyed was part of a six-ship fleet. That means there are five more ships still unaccounted for."

"So there are at least five more of these exploration vessels," Xu Qianghua surmised. "And no doubt, they're on the hunt."

"I believe so." Yan Yuehua nodded as she continued.

"But we don't know their exact coordinates," Yan Yuehua admitted, "however we do have their last known trajectories." She waved her hand, and the captured void map appeared.

"Based on the stored logs, they were following a standard search pattern when the first ship was destroyed."

She zoomed in on a cluster of red markers floating near Nexara's outer borders. "They should be somewhere in this sector—unless they changed course after losing contact with the first ship."

Xu Qianghua's fingers tapped lightly on his desk as he processed the situation. "And what has been done so far?"

Yan Yuehua smirked slightly. "I already notified the Xu family navy once we confirmed the findings. They've dispatched Scout Ships, Stealth Frigates, and Reconnaissance Cruisers to investigate."

Xu Qianghua smiled, his eyes shining. "Excellent."

Yan Yuehua nodded. "We'll find those ships, and when we do, we'll eliminate them before they can cause any trouble."

"See to it," Xu Qianghua commanded. He had full faith in her abilities, and the last thing they needed was a group of hostile alien invaders wreaking havoc in the middle of a World Upgrade.

"Will do." Yan Yuehua's tone was confident. "I'll send word the moment we find anything."

With that, she gave a small bow and departed, leaving Xu Qianghua to ponder the implications of their findings.

The situation was not as bad as he had expected; it could even be said that everything was moving in the right direction.

But the Zerg's appearance was still a complication, and Xu Qianghua could not afford any further setbacks.

"Everything must go smoothly," he muttered, his eyes flashing.

Outside, the preparations for the World Upgrade continued.

Workers kept moving as fast as they could, as the construction of the world upgrade altar had already ended.

Now, all that was left was the final step, and that is the actual activation, which will take some time as there is still stuff that needs to be done.

Meanwhile, the Xu family navy was still searching for the lost Zerg ships, but no news had been found until now.

The navy had searched the entire area, but no sign of the ships was found, and so the search continued.

At the same time, the army recruitment had begun, and people were flocking in, hoping to join the new and prestigious Unified Army.

As the number of recruits was steadily increasing, the training programs were being finalized.
