Chapter 1624: Seeing Too Many Of Them
The second he plunged into the chaotic streams, Shang Xia reached a conclusion.
He was actually forced to confront the Sage of the Essence Chong Heavenly Field and his heart was still pounding in fear.
He was shocked that he managed to so easily escape from a Martial Emptiness Realm Sage who had reached the second star of cultivation.
Of course, he was well aware that it wasn't because he had the strength to face the expert head on. Instead, there seemed to be some issues with the Sage's cultivation, which he had successfully exploited.
From his current understanding of the Martial Emptiness Realm, there were usually two paths for ascension. The first involved completing one’s duties to their world and achieving transcendence, while the other remained entangled with their world, needing even further support from the World’s Will to deepen the bond to successfully step into the Martial Emptiness Realm.
The former path was obviously preferable. However, the difficulty of walking down that path was exceedingly high, as evident from the Chen Dynasty Emperor from the Essence Xing World who had been stuck at the peak of the Martial Void Realm for such a long time.
The latter path, although easier, meant that after ascension, the cultivator would also be bound by their world and their Heavenly Field.
Pei Yuanji, the Sage from the Essence Chong Heavenly Field, was clearly of the latter. Furthermore, because he had successfully organized the Heavenly Field and his cultivation had already crossed the initial level to reach the second star of the Martial Emptiness Realm.
Considering the ambitions of Yan Yu from Essence Du World, who wanted to incorporate the Spirit Tip World under his control to establish his Heavenly Field, it was clear his purpose was to advance his cultivation.
With that, Shang Xia concluded that for a Sage who ascended with the help of their world, a key threshold to enhance his cultivation was the strengthening of their Heavenly Field. The construction of a Heavenly Field required, at a minimum, the core of an Essence World and likely a Spirit World under their control.
Such Martial Emptiness Realm Sages might not necessarily advance the moment they established their Heavenly Field, but to grow even stronger, the backing of a Heavenly Field was essential.
Even so, during his confrontation with Pei Yuanji, Shang Xia immediately noticed the instability of the Sage’s inner qi, indicating he had just advanced and was yet to fully stabilize his cultivation. Shang Xia boldly deduced that the Essence Chong Heavenly Field had barely been established and, compared to the other Heavenly Fields he had been to, the Essence Chong Heavenly Field shouldn’t be too strong.
The reason Shang Xia thought to use the Spirit Light World’s world origin to strike at Pei Yuanji, which caused his cultivation to shake and his eventual escape, was because he sensed a trace of unrefined world origin hidden in Pei Yuanji’s dantian during their clash.
Having just left the Spirit Light World and taken with him a third of a continent’s world origin with him, Shang Xia was familiar with it. He even recognized Pei Yuanji’s inner qi, as Pei Yuanji had secretly infused his soul into the Spirit Light World Origin Source which he also destroyed.
Although Pei Yuanji had tried to conceal it, every surge of the Spirit Light World’s origin made his inner qi fluctuate. Shang Xia couldn’t help but make the connection.
Perhaps it was because he had erased Pei Yuanji’s soul mark in the Spirit Light World that temporarily disabled Pei Yuanji borrowing more power from it, but Pei Yuanji’s cultivation became even more unstable during their clash earlier.
If that was the case, Pei Yuanji’s timely arrival to intercept Shang Xia, aside from eliminating the threat of an external intruder, was actually to re-establish his soul mark in the Spirit Light World to stabilize his cultivation using the world origin!
Since that was the case, Shang Xia had to make use of the only weakness Pei Yuanji had! Even though it was a massive gamble, Shang Xia didn’t hesitate to smash all the world origin he obtained from the Spirit Light World into the Sage.
Thankfully, his guess was right.
Pei Yuanji had used the Spirit Light World’s power to consolidate a second Origin Star within his dantian, a process not easy to control or suppress fully, which was precisely why Pei Yuanji failed to quickly solidify his foundations.
At that moment, the influx of a large amount of the Spirit Light World’s world origin injected new vitality into the already suppressed second Origin Star, causing it to erupt suddenly. Pei Yuanji was forced to suppress it and it left him with no strength to pursue the fleeing Shang Xia.
As Shang Xia entered the chaotic streams, he felt relatively safe. He started to follow the route planned by Yan Ming, their newest Grand Stargazer as he left as quickly as possible.
Having a Grand Stargazer on his side while traveling through the chaotic streams made everything considerably more convenient.
However, Shang Xia underestimated Pei Yuanji’s determination to stop him. When the originally disordered chaotic streams suddenly began to flow in an organized way, Shang Xia knew what was going on. He had seen it before, and he knew that trouble was catching up again.
The ability to control a portion of the World’s Will… Manipulating the chaotic streams around the world… Those were the abilities of Sages!
Seventh Order energy had the ability to do so and it contained endless might, but if it was just a Martial Emptiness Clone… Shang Xia was no stranger to their abilities or what they were capable of!
When Pei Yuanji’s clone located Shang Xia, it discovered the spatial torrent it had created had plunged back into chaos. No matter how it tried to stir up the void around to threaten Shang Xia, everything disintegrated as the chaotic streams remained.
In the void, Shang Xia unleashed both his World Establishing Art and the sixth move of his Siix Harmony Rod Technique, Heaven Liberation in tandem. He carved out multiple regions of void in the chaotic streams, forming outlets for the energy Pei Yuanji’s clone stirred up. It caused the orderly spatial wave to collapse.
Pei Yuanji’s clone didn’t expect a True Immortal to be able to neutralize his offensive with such an amazing technique. From how easily the intruder handled the situation, it was clear it wasn’t their first time facing such a situation!
What do you think?
