Chapter 172 - 172: The Decision

[3rd POV]

Reappearing back in X-Mansion, Gwen looked to Jean "Go ahead and get some supplies ready, we'll need to stay in Malzif for a while so you can learn those powers of yours" Gwen said as the girl nodded and ran off to get ready, a somewhat excited smile on her face at the thought of being alone with Gwen for so long.

Watching her run off, Gwen chuckled before walking to Xavier's office, opening it without even knocking as he looked up at her "Gwen, what was that sensation? That cry? It was piercing!"

"That was Jean, Charles. She's awoken a...particularly powerful mutant power and is going to need very special training in Malzif with me. I'd offer you to come and help, but you're taking your sweet time choosing whether or not you want your students to transfer there" Gwen said bluntly, growing somewhat annoyed with the lack of decision making on the man's part.

She had already begun to prepare for universe travel to find some other mutants to recruit, should the man continue to take so long to make a damn decision. She wanted to get at least 100 new inhabitants for her city within the next month, but more would be appreciated, it would all be reliant on whether or not people will actually be willing to join her.

"...I have been meaning to speak to you about that, Gwen. I and the other teachers have all come to a decision regarding Malzif, and moving the school there" Xavier said, as Gwen stopped and looked at the man with a raised eyebrow. She had been waiting months now for the guy to give her a response, and it seems she was finally going to get one.

"And what did you all decide?" Gwen asked, as she hadn't spied on them or anything, so she truly didn't know. But from his facial expression, the twitch of his lips, and his overall vibe, she had an idea.

"We've decided that we'll let the students themselves decide. If possible, we'd like to do a field trip to the location of the new school, of Malzif, with the parents also attending, showing them to full extent of what their new home could be, and then, they can decide themselves if we should move to Malzif" Xavier responded, as Gwen looked a bit surprised at the idea as it was...fair, very fair.

"That...is actually pretty fair. Alright, I'll set up some fun events they can do that'll show off what Malzif has to offer. Give me a week or two and I'll have it all setup, that, and I'm sure you'll need time to notify the parents and explain everything to them" Gwen replied, as the man nodded.

"Two weeks should be more than enough time to explain to all the parents. The only problem is getting them here, as many of them have jobs that they cannot simply take time off from"

"I'll take care of that. Just use this to give them compensation" Gwen said, reaching into her pocket and handing him a card.

"It's my debit card, and should have more than enough money on it to cover their workdays. If not then I'll get you more" Gwen replied, not minding that she'd have to cover the expenses. There was over 100 million dollars on her card, so she would be shocked if that was all somehow used.

In terms of total wealth, Gwen was easily the richest woman in the solar system, having countless tons of Adamantium, Vibranium, and various other precious metals that those in other galaxies would pay a LOT for, mostly in credits, but still a lot.

"That...that is kind of you Gwen, thank you. When will you be taking Jean to Malzif?" Xavier asked, understanding that Gwen would give the girl the training she would need in order to learn how to control her power, he knew better than to try and stop her either way.

"Later today if possible. I've got her packing now. This sort of thing...this sort of thing can't wait Charles, trust me. What she has within her...it's beyond any normal mutant's power, it's something that HAS to be mastered, otherwise it'll bring about some...less than desirable consequences" Gwen replied, knowing that the Phoenix going crazy could mean the end of...well everything.

"And may I ask what sort of training she will be forced to undergo in order to do so?" Xavier asked, as Gwen leaned back in her chair.

"Mostly how to commune with and utilize the power within her. There isn't a way of truly controlling the power, or making it obey her, so she simply has to try her best to get it to work with her, and that'll be what I am going to teach her. Perhaps some new meditation techniques in order to convene with it properly, I've still gotta make a plan for her, but I've got some ideas" Gwen replied, as she really didn't have any sort of plan for this, but she would within an hour, her clones all working on upgrading a few rooms for the training she would need to undergo, rooms that would be laced with adamantium, vibranium, and some of the strongest materials she had in order to properly block the flames of the phoenix, allowing her to train without fear of destroying everything.

"Well, if you ever need my aid in her training, simply give me a call and I will be there. And is it safe to assume that your girlfriends will also be joining you in Malzif?" Xavier questioned as Gwen nodded.

"Yep, it's about time they get to moving there, as we'll be getting people to live there either way. I plan on sending out the first invitations within the month, and I'll be having the first people within 2 months" Gwen replied, as she wanted to eventually bring in all the mutants on Earth if possible, which was over 30 million. The city itself was built to hold over 250 million people in comfort, and could easily be added on should she ever need to.

"Well I shall leave you to it, Gwen. Once I am finished speaking with the parents, I will give you a date to be ready by" Xavier said as Gwen nodded and got to her feet, before walking out of the room, only to see the girls all standing there, Jean with them, a suitcase in hand and a backpack on her back.

"So we're going to Malzif, as in, permanently?" Artemis asked, excited to finally see the city that Gwen had been working on for months now, a secret city that she shared little information about.

"Yep, I've already got our room set up, as well as one for you, Jean. We'll get you all situated first before we begin your training, Jean" Gwen said, as the girl nodded, excited to go to this new place.

"What about Jean's parents?" Raven found herself asking, as Jean replied before Gwen could.

"Don't worry about them, what they don't know can't hurt them. They'll find out when all the other parents do, until then, I just wanna do this, okay?" Jean said, as the group all looked at her with soft smiles.

"Okay, Jean! We'll keep it a secret from your parents!" M'gann said with a bright smile, Jean giving the girl her own smile as Gwen chuckled.

"I wasn't going to tell them anyways, so you're fine, I promise" Gwen added, not interested in ratting out the girl that she really cared about to her parents. She wasn't sure about Jean's relationship with them in this universe, and she wasn't much interested in testing her luck by doing something like that. That, and she was no rat.

Looking over the group, all of them ready to leave, Gwen grinned and spoke, excitement in all of their eyes.

"Alright then, let's get to Malzif!"
