Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy

Chapter 590 - 588: Distant Dilemma

Chapter 590: Chapter 588: Distant Dilemma

Before long, the Ice Queen returned to the Truth Hall within the Supreme Hall of Truth, where only the King of Ten Thousand Woods was present, standing near the doorway on one side.

The Ice Queen approached, and he had no additional reactions.

“What are you thinking about? You seem completely absorbed.”

“Aeriel, among those three, whom do you think could become one of our kind?” the King of Ten Thousand Woods replied with a question of his own.

“I don’t know, I hope all three can succeed,” the Ice Queen answered curtly.

“It’s difficult, having two would be quite an achievement. That way, we can fill the current vacancies, safeguard the sorcerer world, and conveniently head to that place to welcome back Galif and Darwin.”

Hearing the King of Ten Thousand Woods’ somewhat sentimental words, the Ice Queen fell into silence. They indeed needed assistance now.

Otherwise, once they depart, the sorcerer world could easily be taken advantage of.

“Tell me again, who among the three is most likely to advance successfully?” After a pause, the King of Ten Thousand Woods asked again.

“Sorcerer Hardy Charosi,” the Ice Queen replied, still succinct.

“I don’t think so, I believe it should be Ivan. He is a remarkable sorcerer, did you know? Not only is he an Arcane Wizard, but he is also the Knight King known from legends.”

The King of Ten Thousand Woods had a different perspective.

“Knight King?”

“The Knight King corresponds to the Life Path. Tanaya of the Fitzgerald family followed him on the same path and is currently in the midst of advancement. Doesn’t that make him extraordinary?”

“Did Galif tell you this?”

“Some of it was revealed by Ivan himself, and some by Galif. He feared he might encounter trouble and hoped I would look after his descendant Tanaya. Our King of the Long Sky also has a compassionate nature.”

“You’re not wrong, Sorcerer Ivan also has the legendary Throne of Danaila, indeed out of the ordinary.”

The two conversed intermittently, and it was not hard to discern their unsettled minds, filled with deep concern as well as fervent hope.

While they guarded the Truth Hall, far away, a prison-like dilemma had already taken shape.

At the center of this cage-like area, there was a massive Wind King Colt and a Fire Wing Dragon, with a pagoda floating above the colt and a fiery peak suspended over the dragon. The two treasures shone brilliantly.

The King Colt and Wing Dragon, the pagoda and fiery peak.

Together, they formed a tactical formation, resisting the erosion forces from all around.

“Galif, Darwin, why struggle in vain? Surrender early to be freed from this plight and gain the power of the King’s Throne. Why not enjoy the benefits?”

A voice came from outside, clearly one of persuasion, but no figure was in sight.

“Pah! You traitor, you still have the face to come here.” The Fire Wing Dragon lifted its head to look in a certain direction, its large draconic eyes filled with anger.

“To become a Level 6 Sorcerer, what does mere face matter? You, the Dragon Flame King, can’t see through such a simple issue? Have you grown complacent in recent years?” The voice from outside spoke again.

“Shameless wretch, do not dare to utter the word ‘sorcerer’. You’ve been expelled from the sorcerer world.”

Originally, this Fire Wing Dragon was none other than Darwin Randolph transformed, one of the four sovereigns of the sorcerer world, the Dragon Flame King.

To his rebuke, the person outside felt no shame but justified themselves confidently.

At that moment, the Wind King Colt beside restrained the Dragon Flame King.

“Agria, do you dare claim that you’ve mustered the Throne?” the Wind King Colt spoke, and anyone familiar could recognize it as the voice of the King of the Long Sky.

“Yet, I am different from you. I, Agria, am a Level 6 being, still with hopes of materializing the Throne. It won’t be long before I achieve this step, and as once my peers, I hope you can share in this delicious fruit.”

“Scoff!”

Facing the enemy who was trying to persuade them again, the Wind King Colt exhibited an anthropomorphic scoff.

“King of the Long Sky, what are you laughing at?”

“I laugh at your self-deception, given the size of the extreme beast plane, you must have reached your limit now, impossible for you to become even a tiny bit stronger. Otherwise, why would you need to painstakingly plan around the power of Danaila World?”

The words seemed to have hit a sore spot, leaving the voice from the outside speechless for a long time.

If it wasn’t for their ulterior motives, why would they risk it all, set up schemes step by step, not afraid to offend a major world? Do they not know that their actions are like dancing on the edge of a knife?

“Got it right, didn’t I? You truly are a complete fool, jumping from a major world to one that barely qualifies as a medium one. The world’s limit is right there, visible and tangible.”

Wind Prince did not let up and continued to mock.

“Say whatever you want, but once you can’t hold on any longer, you will become even worse off than me. Then we can have a proper catch-up.”

“Wishful thinking.”

“Heh, or do those other two dare to save you? You can tell them to try if you so wish; we’ll be waiting for them right here.”

Inside and outside the region, both parties could be said to be utterly incompatible, their discussions leading nowhere, quickly parting on bad terms.

Wind Prince and Firewing Dragon remained trapped in their cages, constantly resisting the strange forces surrounding them, unable to find hope to break the deadlock.

Outside of Truth City lies Rainbow Domain.

Over the years, Rainbow Domain has developed to be indistinguishable from the other Arcane Territories, and in its entirety it resembles a grand sorcerer kingdom, home to countless people.

Today, the one in charge of Rainbow Domain is Level 3 Sorcerer Pearney.

Whether it’s talent, temperament, wisdom, or resources, Pearney is lacking in none. Having been a Level 2 Sorcerer for a long time, plus the careful guidance from an Arcane Wizard, advancing to a Level 3 Sorcerer was natural for her.

After becoming a Level 3 Sorcerer, Ivan handed over the management of the territory to her.

As for Justine, her lack of strength meant her words carried no weight, and she could only assist Pearney.

“I know.”

One day, the two of them received news from the Peak of Truth; their own Arcane Wizard was undertaking an important research and wouldn’t return for a long time.

They were both somewhat used to this kind of situation.

“Not happy?” After sending off the metal servant, Pearney asked, seeing Justine pouting slightly.

“A bit,” Justine nodded lightly.

“I remember you were not like this.”

“It’s different now. Haven’t you heard it from Ivan himself that he has a daughter now, with a woman we’ve never heard of before? Aren’t you anxious? I am, very anxious.”

When Justine replied, she purposely used a sound transmission to prevent eavesdropping.

Having followed Ivan for so long, Justine had also become thorough in her considerations.

“What’s the use of being anxious? Better to think about how to live longer. We have time on our side,” Pearney was a bit stunned, but then offered a more sensible suggestion.

Justine remained at the level of a Level 1 Sorcerer due to a variety of reasons.

However, she had become an Earth Knight, equivalent to a Level 2 being.

“That’s true, I too want to become a Level 3 Sorcerer, and if possible, even the Knight King, so that sooner or later we can have descendants of our own,” Justine said somewhat naively.

“With Sorcerer Ivan around, you’ll have your day sooner or later, and so will I, along with Dan Lin and Angela; no one will be left behind.”

Pearney did not think it naive because they had a man who was capable of anything.

After dreaming a while, both went about their business, unaware that this time, Ivan would take much longer than they expected.

They would never have guessed that their own Arcane Wizard was already setting his sights on a higher level and had embarked on that path.

Perhaps, the next time they met, their statuses and positions would have changed.
