Chapter 175: Army in the Air

Bakunawa, like Eleanor glowed, waited for 30 minutes before seeing her transformation, nothing much have changed, much to her dismay, she's still small with the only difference that her hair that she wanted short became long and her scales became more reflective of sunlight, meaning, she can now use it as a way to make herself cool, other than that, she felt pleased as she was now in the same level as Eleanor, someone that suddenly jumped as someone stronger than her despite Bakunawa being a hero prospect for longer than Eleanor.

Well, there might be no infighting to get Sophia's attention, but Bakunawa is a prideful person, like Sophia, still having ego as big as Genesis despite being the bottom of Bakunawa.

And in her contemplation, Bakunawa cannot help but wonder.

"Where the hell is Eleanor?"

Bakunawa felt something was amiss, Eleanor is a very serious person, evident of how can she developed a rifle with such an ingenious bullet (mana) extraction method, she will not deviate in anything she was ordered to do and she will do it in the most efficient way possible, Bakunawa poised herself to dash towards the sight of Eleanor and Tydings IV's fight, even though her acting commander said that Eleanor is fine, it has already been a day and more, yet she's still not back, however, just when Bakunawa is about to go look for her metamour, a magic circle, black in color spread out from the point which the command point of the dead is as the epicenter and spread out, it reached the side of the still fighting humans and undeads, all of the magic circles in the swords and staves of the enemy has been eradicated.

Because of which, all the undeads that had their resurrection delayed finally materialized in the vicinity of the royal palace, with this, the plan of the elves to push through the undeads like before when they still have their history's strongest generals have failed, this plan is the most effective, the only plan against the undead that almost worked, even Valentine cannot fully get the undeads out of existence and can only resort for repeated wars against them.

"Go to the main camp, now."

As the magic circle materialized and disappeared just like that, Bakunawa heard such a command, which earned a frown from Bakunawa, who was getting worried about Eleanor.

"Eleanor is yet to return from her fight, I just wanted to check her out."

Bakunawa would have been more forceful if she doesn't have sense and ignored the chain of command, which she actually can as she is one of the queens of Kamatayan, such is a sign of growth, but right now, a hindrance to her checking up on the abnormal behavior of her metamour, [Guide] is quite a loss at this moment, for first, she is afraid of angering the short tempered Bakunawa that has the same amount of pride as his Lady.

It was a good thing that Sophia is very foresightful, she was able to articulate this situation, thus she have planted an illusion in the mind of Bakunawa, it not only whispered using her voice, it also came with some tranquilizing effect, causing Bakunawa, with still a frown on her face to reluctantly comply to the command of [Guide], she produced a paper from god knows where, it has a pentagram that she then imbued with mana, causing her to be immediately sucked to the 4th dimension, disappearing from the battlefield as if she did not just killed one of the general of the living.

The shouts of the humans that are fighting desperately for the elves that they are forced to serve, lest they want to get erased from existence, becoming nothing but a pile of sand resounded along the rhythmic yet cacophonous sound of metals bashing against metals, several elemental balls either punching though numerous flesh or descending to the ground and the seemingly never-ending metallic clangs of weapons banging against each other, it is already effectively 24 hours since the humans and elves has been fighting off the fierce force of the undeads, yet, it was as if they are in drugs, they never tire, never hunger and never fear, and indeed, the living are in fact in a buff that is imbued in their armors.

Besides that, the humans also holds on the hope of their survival, a desperate, even futile hope that after they let the elves escape, the undeads will spare them their lives, thus even though their last general have perished, they continued to fight as if maddened beasts, and amid their fights, the generated balls of elemental magics about 3 meters big started to dwindle, as several long eared elves stealthily shuttled through the human ocean and met at the back of the formation, of course, the humans at the back saw them, gritting their teeth, but as if animated with minds of their own, their feet and hands advanced to repel the undeads to the best of their ability.

Surely, [Grip] is such a suitable name for the ultimate enslavement spell, for so terrifying it was that the ones afflicted with it were rendered soulless and desperate.

The elves ignored such a gesture of disrespect against creatures they deem as inferior to their own, the two captains of the remaining elven regime nodded gravely at each other without saying a word, they then escaped using their foot, the ones on the back backtracked their rear repeatedly, afraid of the pursuit of the undead, but as if to give them some respite, their disdainful enemies did not pursue, even after they escaped for kilometers already, much to the relief of the elves.

_It seems like the humans are doing a good job in stalling the enemy._

Such were their thoughts, however, they did not notice that neither the humans nor the elves did a good job in protecting themselves against out of the battlefield espionage, that's why an undead spider, stationed in the route of the escaping elves that are using the wind to make their staves float that is then ridden by them was able to relay their escape to [Guide], this escape is the signal for him and his air force, thus he connected to their general and ordered.

"Kamatayan Air Force, your very first battle has now finally commenced. To get out of detection range, you were fully excluded from the battle. Now, your first command has finally come..."

[Guide] cannot help but imagine the excited faces of the air force, yet he suppresses his smile, not like he can smile with his mandibles, he continued.

"Chase and eradicate the elves and bombard the invaded land of Tydings."

In the main battlefield of the elven undead war, the two dark elves regime looked at the undeads and humans entangling in a messy war, the undeads knew that they have already won given the fact that all of the opposition's generals has been eradicated, yet they seem to still be in order of holding off the humans and incapacitating them, Sophia just have to win against Aerendil, something that the dark elves find odd, yet, the dark elves who knew what will be the next move of the undeads did not fret about what are they doing despite their imminent victory, they only have their escape as their concern, however, one of the dark elves in the left side army of the dark elves cannot help but ask.

"Shall we escape directly, general? Or shall we feign assisting them?"

Such was the main concern, if they directly escaped, they might get shot down by their seemingly all elite mages, but if they did feign assistance, they might get too close to the army of the dead and miss the opportunity to escape, this made the general, who cannot communicate with the other general or their general commander, Luna to hesitate on their decision, such a simple question, yet their is a trap that is intricately laid in front of the two paths, making their escape impossible, how did they got into this trap is now of no concern of them, for when they decided to get help from Sophia, they did so with the conviction to face the brunt of her nefarious intentions, yet they still was not able to guard against the masterful brainwashing of one of her subordinates.

That is because there is only a handful of mages from the dak elves variant who was built to be the warrior class of the Stardust Kingdom, the two generals already planned to meet up and make a escape way before the war, they will also abduct their lady Luna that is in the side of the undeads so that she can escape their ensnarement.

In short, their only concern is just to escape, however, unfortunately for them, their concern was addressed by hesitation instead of decisiveness, thus before they come up with a primary plan, the undeads of the two sides wherein the two generals are disembarked with their legions and then ran towards the dark elves with full force, the two generals, again, simultaneously, shouted.

"ESCAPE!"

As all of them ran for it, however, they have once again did not considered one crucial aspect, their role in the war is the most labor extensive, for they have to anticipate ambushes against the marksmen of death, attack the assailants and retreat, again ready to anticipate any enemy plan, only the mages are the ones responsible for this alongside them for the marksmen of death are used to dwindle the wing forces of the living so that the undeads in the two wings will become freer, thus they will be be able to do what they are doing right now, chasing the dark elves, who were gassing out because of exhaustion, and because the elves were tired and the undeads have no bottomline in stamina, the latter army caught up to them and eventually successfully encircled them.

The general of the left wing glared at the captains of the undeads as they pointed their weapons at the dark elves.

"How about the alliance?"

The general, who once never recognized the "alliance," tried to use it in futility; he grabbed his weapon as he did so.

"The alliance is over, and Indio's invasion will start now."

Somewhere in the border of Indio, Tydings and Stardust, 20 kilometers away from the battlefield, in a mountainous place, the base of the Kamatayan air force, the second air force in the whole world alongside Valentine, this place was supposed to not be part of Kamatayan, but Sophia's ambitions plans and power says otherwise.

The manananggals of the air force, contrary to their maid counterparts are bigger, nowhere can be seen are their womanly assets and only chiseled muscles are present to be admired, though, there are people out there that fantasizes such bodies, but that is beyond the point, they don heavy armors lightened by magic circles invented by the mage unit of the army, it has spikes on the chest, shoulders, knees and toes, the stomach area is a modified space travel pentagram with some baybayin words in the tips of the pentagram, this is a pocket dimension that stores the upgraded bombs from the landmines co-created by Sophia and Eleanor, basically a big and more explosive version of grenades, it has the same design but contains pure air and some mana that will later become flames which will be carried by the raging storm inside the grenades.

In their back is their insignia, the word "Hukbong Panghimpapawid ng Kamatayan" (named personally by Sophia) or Army in the Air of Kamatayan in Baybayin is written, inside it is a stylized eagle that seem to be the giant monkey eating eagle that is in the catalogue of the bestiary of the queendom, the air force wondered if the monkeys will gang up on them if they saw it.

All of them are now lined up in neat formation, excitement and seriousness etched in their face, the lower half of their bodies is in the left while the upper is in the right, the role of the lower left is to defend the base while the upper half is to attack the designated targets.

Such a disciplined lineup is the result of their rigorous, literally day in and day out training; their maneuvers have been etched on their minds, and right now, such maneuvers will be finally put to their very first test.

"Today, we have received our first orders!"
