Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 743: 742: System Upgrade (Bonus chapter)

"Smile Reaper."

The expressions of Jeremy Draker and many other individuals changed when they heard Corey introducing himself.

The demons snickered, laughed, and mocked Jeremy because to them, it felt like Corey was looking down on Jeremy and gave him a nickname instead of giving him his actual name.

Meanwhile, for those who knew about Corey like Rosa, Kiefer, Selene, young Calista, the Terror Queen, the Underworld officials, the Outsiders and the Chosens, they did not see what Corey did as a joke.

Instead, they were hoping that Corey would say his actual name.

The Underworld officials, the Outsiders, and Chosens were the ones that truly desired to know Corey's true name for one reason and one reason alone.

No matter what they did, what item they used, what ability they used, and what seer or prophet or oracle they used, they were still not able to figure out Corey's true name.

Knowing Corey's true name would help them in so many ways when dealing with Corey.

One of them being in trying to divine information about Corey, no matter how small, and another was the ability to place a terrible and powerful curse on Corey through his name.

Unfortunately, what they did not know was that none of these two would work on Corey because he was a Paragon.

Divinations and curses could not work on Paragons.

So in a way, everybody that desired to know Corey's name for these two reasons did not know, but they were only alive because they could not get his name.

However, if it was known that there were only two people amongst the entire force on the island that knew Corey's actual name, the reaction would be something to behold.

"Do I look like a fool to you?"

Jeremy's tone was cold and emotionless, and a light smile appeared on Corey's lips.

"No, you don't."

Jeremy's left eye twitched. For some reason, the unbothered and nonchalant tone Corey used ticked him off in a wrong way.

"I just escaped the Underworld, and there are people in the Underworld that want to know my name for several reasons..." Corey paused and glanced at the Outsiders and Chosens for a moment before looking back at Jeremy.

"So, I can't give you my actual name but the name I used in the Underworld."

"Hmm." Jeremy furrowed his brows, and then he glanced at the Underworld officials and the Outsiders for a few seconds before shifting his gaze back at Corey.

"I guess that's understandable... But, I now have a question to ask you."

Corey raised a brow.

"Have you colluded with the demons? Or are you part of the Underworld? Or have you joined the Invaders? Or... Are you still a New Earthling?"

The clouds in the sky churned, a powerful gust of wind blew across the island, the waters of the sea roared, and the ground trembled the moment Jeremy asked this question.

It was almost like it was not Jeremy that was asking the question but the world itself.

It was like the world was the one judging Corey, and depending on his answer, the entire world would react differently.

Corey narrowed his eyes with countless thoughts, calculations, questions, and simulations running through his mind.

Apart from the environmental changes that were occurring around them, Corey could feel something different, something that only he could feel.

He could feel a powerful pressure descend on him, but this pressure was not one that threatened to crush his body and soul.

No

It was more like a warning from the world itself.

It was like a pair of eyes from a... supreme being who was gazing at him and watching his every move.

'If I had not been in the presence of the Paragon Ancestor... If I had not faced more than one Supreme Tribulations... And if I had not faced the whispers and ravings after I died in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones... Would I tremble in the presence of this gaze... of this gaze of the world?'

The moment Corey asked himself this question, he instantly arrived at an answer.

He would most likely have trembled in the presence of the gaze if he had not gone through what he went through.

Which was certainly obvious.

It was one's experiences that built one, and his experiences with the Paragon Ancestor, Supreme Tribulations, the Tribulations of Hell, and the whispers and ravings he heard after he died in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones... were far more greater than just the gaze of this world.

Whether it was a Blessed World or not.

Corey remained silent for exactly three seconds as all these thoughts and many other thoughts went through his mind.

He smiled at Jeremy.

"I'm a New Earthling."

Jeremy frowned, "Why did it take you so long to respond?"

Corey gestured at their surroundings and the undulating waves on the vast sea.

"I believe anybody would be surprised and curious about the environmental effects that happened just because you spoke... I wonder what sort of ability that is."

Jeremy furrowed his brows, and then he glanced at his comrades behind him.

Meanwhile, Corey was observing and listening to every conversation that was happening in the four armies through his Eyes and Ears of Omniscience.

He was extremely curious and baffled as to why neither the Demons, the Underworld officials, and the Outsiders were even trying to attack the army of New Earthlings.

Although the army of New Earthlings were the largest in quantity, their quality was terribly low.

The strongest individuals were at Tier 4.

Meanwhile, the strongest individuals amongst the Underworld officials, Outsiders, and demons were peak Tier 6s.

In fact, the army of New Earthlings had no business fighting these three forces and it was absolutely foolish to him that such a thing was even happening.

'There's a reason why the army of New Earthlings have not been crushed and why they're even allowing Jeremy to speak to me so freely...'

Corey glanced at Jeremy.

'Is it because of him?'

Just as Corey had this thought, Jeremy turned back at him.

"If you're saying the truth about not being affiliated with any of these organizations, then you won't suffer at all... But if you were lying, then... you clearly deserve it."

Corey was baffled and curious.

However, the moment a golden orb appeared above Jeremy's palm.

Corey's pupils constricted to needles.

'Supreme?!'

"STOP HIM!"

"WAIT!"

The roars and shouts of over five hundred thousand powerful beings shook the earth and caused the sky to churn intensely.
