Chapter 31 - 31 His woman
Chapter 31: His woman Chapter 31: His woman Wen Zhi didn’t know who the other party had seen behind her that would elicit such an expression, until she heard Song Yuxing’s uncle call out—
“Mr. Shang!”
Upon hearing this, Wen Zhi subconsciously thought that Shang Jing had come looking for her.
But then she quickly reconsidered; a Shang Jing wouldn’t be enough to scare Song Yuxing’s uncle like that, would it?
Unless it was…
Wen Zhi didn’t have time to turn around when the man already arrived by her side.
She turned to the side, looked up, and watched him.
In just a few seconds, a touch of surprise inevitably surfaced in her eyes.
Shang Hexing!
Right, the outside world referred to Shang Jing as the Second Young Master Shang, but only to Shang Hexing as Mr. Shang! He was the only one.
“Mr. Shang! It really is Mr. Shang!” Xu Shaokun approached excitedly, extending his hand with a sycophantic smile on his face: “Mr. Shang, I am Xu Shaokun from Qingbi Real Estate, responsible for the business development department. I have long heard of your numerous glorious achievements, and to actually see you in person today is truly an honor.”
Shang Hexing extended his hand: “Qingbi Real Estate?”
Xu Shaokun nodded eagerly: “Rongfeng Qingbi.”
Shang Hexing casually asked, “Ever done government projects?”
Xu Shaokun smiled slickly: “On behalf of Rongfeng Qingbi, I’ve been longing for this day.”
Amusement flickered at the corners of Shang Hexing’s eyes as he turned his head to signal Chen Jinhai.
Witnessing this, Xu Shaokun’s mouth fell open and his eyes widened in excitement, somewhat incoherently: “Rong… Rongfeng Qingbi is honored to have Mr. Shang’s favor, and cooperation in the future will surely lead to multi-faceted development.”
While speaking, Xu Shaokuan hurriedly took out a business card and handed it over to Chen Jinhai with both hands.
Chen Jinhai accepted the business card from Xu Shaokuan’s hand and pocketed it.
Song Yuxing, standing to the side, was originally wondering who her uncle was greeting. It wasn’t until Shang Hexing walked over that her gaze fixed on him, unable to look away, staring directly at Shang Hexing.
This man, so handsome!
From head to toe, he was exactly her type!
Her uncle respected him so much; he must be of a high-status. It’s just that Song Yuxing hadn’t mingled with the Upper Class yet, so she couldn’t guess Shang Hexing’s identity. She only knew his surname was Shang.
“Uncle! Uncle!” Song Yuxing wanted to make her presence known and tugged at Xu Shaokun’s sleeve.
Xu Shaokun turned his head and saw Song Yuxing playing with her hair. That moment of beauty made him suddenly realize that throughout history, beautiful women have always been the easiest to establish connections with in the world of fame and fortune.
With an idea in mind, Xu Shaokun immediately introduced her with a smile: “Mr. Shang, this is my niece Song Yuxing. She’s a young actress, diligent and ambitious, just lacking a good opportunity.”
Song Yuxing moved next to Xu Shaokun and shyly greeted, “Hello, Mr. Shang.”
Shang Hexing glanced at her, his expression unchanged.
Song Yuxing’s face stiffened. She considered herself to be among the sweet and pretty sort, and most men would take a second glance at her, but this Mr. Shang didn’t even bother to give her a proper look.
Meanwhile, Wen Zhi had become completely invisible.
She watched Xu Shaokun and Song Yuxing without a sound, shifting all her attention to Shang Hexing.
Then, without a sound, she continued to observe Shang Hexing.
He was wearing a black satin shirt today, with the collar loose and open, showing a restrained luxury and a dashing grace.
Tall, handsome, possessing both presence and charm, no woman could resist falling for him.
No wonder Song Yuxing’s eyes were practically glued to him.
Wen Zhi pursed her lips and averted her gaze. She didn’t know that the moment she looked away, Shang Hexing’s gaze fell upon her face, capturing the lively expression she wore.
The little girl seemed to be upset.
Xu Shaokun had indeed already overlooked Wen Zhi’s presence, with a great opportunity right in front of him, he only wished he could ascend to heaven in a single bound.
Seizing the rare chance, Xu Shaokun cordially invited, “Mr. Shang, do you have any plans for lunch?”
Shang Hexing didn’t answer; instead, he glanced sideways at the quietly composed Wen Zhi and asked her, “Going back for lunch?”
Wen Zhi was stunned.
Xu Shaokun and Song Yuxing were also both taken aback.
After a moment’s pause, Wen Zhi looked up at Shang Hexing. Had their eyes not met, she might have believed that his question wasn’t directed at her.
“Hmm?” Shang Hexing urged her to respond.
His voice was extremely magnetic, making Wen Zhi inexplicably itchy at heart.
She turned her face away uncomfortably and replied, “No, not going back.”
Shang Hexing hummed in acknowledgment and turned his head to instruct Chen Jinhai, “Reserve a spot, make the main course light.”
Chen Jinhai nodded in acknowledgment.
“Come with me,” Shang Hexing said as he began walking toward the upstairs.
These three words were for Wen Zhi.
Following that, Wen Zhi, under the disbelieving gazes of Xu Shaokun and Song Yuxing, caught up with Shang Hexing’s pace and accompanied him upstairs.
Song Yuxing watched wide-eyed as Wen Zhi left with the man, and that man was the same elite her uncle was groveling to please?!
How had Wen Zhi hooked such a top-quality catch?
No! It can’t be!
Xu Shaokuan instinctively wanted to follow, but Chen Jinhai stepped in front of him, “Mr. Shang has acknowledged Vice President Xu’s good intentions, but he has other arrangements for this afternoon, please feel free to go ahead.”
Xu Shaokun halted at Chen Jinhai’s gesture and smiled sheepishly, “Having Mr. Shang’s appreciation today is already a great honor. Time is precious for Mr. Shang, and I hope I might have the honor of inviting Mr. Shang for a meal in the future.”
Chen Jinhai’s face broke into a formulaic smile, “You might hope so.”
At this point, an anxious Song Yuxing directly asked, “Hey, can you tell me what exactly is the relationship between Wen Zhi and that Mr. Shang?”
Chen Jinhai gave Song Yuxing a cold look, as if he was staring at something unworthy of attention.
Xu Shaokun was shocked and quickly pulled the impetuous Song Yuxing behind him, apologizing with a laugh, “The young girl speaks out of turn, she doesn’t understand the ways of the world, please don’t take offense.”
Song Yuxing’s eyes widened. Not only was her uncle kowtowing to Mr. Shang, but now he was also appeasing Mr. Shang’s assistant with a smile.
He’s just an assistant, what gives him the right?
After Chen Jinhai left, Song Yuxing immediately pressed, “Uncle, what’s the background of that Mr. Shang?”
Xu Shaokun’s face had become stiff with pretentiousness; he raised his hand to massage his jaw and his demeanor darkened as he turned to his naive niece, “His background? He’s someone who can turn Bai City upside down with a single stomp of his foot.”
Song Yuxing’s eyes instantly widened, and her mouth gaped open, “Is he, is he that ‘upper class’ person?”
Xu Shaokun took a deep breath, hands on hips, “That today I could engage in conversation with him is partly due to your contribution as well, Miss Xing. As for that Wen Zhi, stop harboring ideas about her.”
Song Yuxing’s hands clenched at her side, teeth gritted, “What does Wen Zhi have that I don’t?”
“Exactly the fact that she caught his special regard. Can you?” Xu Shaokun replied without mincing words.
Song Yuxing’s eyes reddened, “Uncle…”
“Enough, enough, just be more observant next time.”
Xu Shaokuan now dared not harbor any more thoughts about Wen Zhi.
He was even relieved that he had not said anything excessive to Wen Zhi just now.
Otherwise, it would’ve been a disaster.
…
What do you think?
