RISE OF THE HOLY DEMONIC GOD

Chapter 108: Twin Awakenings – A Core Forged, A Past Reborn

System has detected the formation of the host's core. The core is perfectly formed without interference from the system.
Host has gained the Core {Perfect}. Current form: Mana Core (F-).
As a reward for independent core creation, the system has granted a +2 Sub-realm increase in Core Rank.
Current Rank: Mana Core (F+).
Host Physique detected. Effects are being applied to the newly formed core.
Core mutation initiated under Physique: Darkness Physique.
Congratulations. The host has obtained a rare and unique core: Umbracite Core.
System is adjusting host stats to stabilize the new power balance.

Inside Rey's body, his forming core spread roots throughout his body. Mana paths twisted and evolved, mutating alongside the core. Victor, Aiden, and Zero hovered inside his internal space, watching the transformation closely.

Just as they prepared to retreat, an unexpected presence appeared beside them.

"Huh? Veylen? Why are you here?" Aiden blinked.
"Weren't you still recovering in the White Room?"

"No. I came to witness what's about to unfold," Veylen answered calmly.

"You mean the core mutation? That's already happening," Aiden replied with a shrug. "It's stabilizing along with some bodily adjustments. We should be out of here in a few hours."

Victor scoffed, unimpressed by Veylen's timing.

But Veylen's expression remained unchanged. "No. I arrived at exactly the right moment. What you saw was just a variation. The true transformation that defines us—the Shadowthrone—begins from this moment. Our foundations were never born from mere core evolution, but from what comes after as every being of Shadowthrone got its unique form in cores."

With those cryptic words, Veylen vanished with the others, reappearing outside as Rey's body stirred.

"Ugh… what are you guys doing?" Rey muttered, beginning to rise.
"Shouldn't we get going? If Mother finds out I was out this long, I'm doomed."

"No," Veylen interrupted. "You're not going anywhere for at least another day."

"Huh? What? But the core is done! I feel fine. Can't I just come back later?"

Veylen's eyes narrowed.
"It's not me holding you back… it's what's inside you. And it seems the system has finally detected it."

Before Rey could process the meaning of those words, a cascade of system panels appeared before his eyes.

Alert! Host's bloodline, ?????, has awakened from dormancy.
Bloodline energy is moving toward the host's chest area.
Detected target: Host's core.
Warning! Bloodline energy is invading the Umbracite Core. Core energy is resisting the unknown energy.
Both energies are detected as originating from powerful sources. The bonding process initiated.
Fusion underway. Mutation evolves the already mutated core into a higher state.
Host's mana paths are undergoing a massive transformation. The foundation is changing.
Core mutation accelerating. Bloodline energy retracts into dormancy.
Host body entering dormancy to accommodate transformation.
Estimated time until full core and body evolution: 2 Days, 19 Hours, 31 Seconds.
System is studying the new core form for identification.
Warning! Elemental variation: Oblivion Gloom, has begun reacting.
Host's synchronization and control with the element is unstable. The element is going out of control.
Host's life is in danger...

Before the warning could continue, the elemental energy surged.

A cocoon of pitch-black darkness erupted around Rey, encasing him entirely. The spirits were forcibly pulled back into the White Room. From the outside, it looked like a dark egg had formed at the mountain peak.

And anything that approached it… died.

The raging Oblivion energy immediately obliterated the flying beasts curious enough to get close.

~~ Two and a Half Days Later ~~

The cocoon atop the mountain trembled.

Cracks spread across its surface as muffled thuds echoed from within. Something inside was trying to break free—but the shell refused to budge, as if made of rubber.

Then, at last, it split open on its own.

Rey emerged, his eyes adjusting to the light. From the outside, he looked almost unchanged. But inside—his very essence had been rewritten.

"Oi… where are you guys? Can you hear me?" he called out, glancing around in confusion.

He'd tried contacting them countless times during the darkness. No one had answered. It felt like he'd been sealed in an endless void with no sense of time or space.

Aiden's voice finally rang out as he tried to reach his inner world.

"Relax, Rey. We're here. We were trapped in the White Room this whole time. Don't act like a crybaby—you know we can't exist without you."

"Oh, come on," Rey scoffed, trying to mask his relief. "Like I'd care about you guys. I was just… confused."

His voice faltered. "But what happened to me? I don't understand a single thing after those notifications popped up."

"Don't ask me," Aiden replied, arms crossed. "Even I'm lost. Your bloodline did something insane—it mutated your core and your entire internal structure. There's barely anything left that resembles a normal human."

"What?! Are you saying I'm not human anymore?!"

"No, idiot. You're still human," Aiden rolled his eyes. "But if someone took a look inside you, they'd assume you're some sort of humanoid beast."

"Same difference…" Rey muttered.

"Just check the system already," Aiden groaned. "You always act like this when you need to use your brain."

Rey stared at his new status screen in disbelief.

It was as if someone had shattered his entire stat framework and reassembled it from scratch—only this time, parts of it were missing.

"W-Where did my majestic stats go?!" he shouted, half-crazed."My HP, MP, ATK, Defense—they were in the thousands just a few days ago! Now they aren't even scratching a thousand?! And this stupid Threshold System even split them into parts!"

He felt like he was losing his mind.
Though the painful overload from excess mana was gone now, what remained was an unfamiliar, broken version of his old self. And at the heart of it all—his Core.

"Hah… Kid, don't be so damn dramatic."

Aiden scoffed, arms folded, watching Rey's tantrum.

"You should be grateful. Your stats didn't vanish—they were refined. Compressed and purified by your new Core. Your previous power was raw, unpolished trash at best. A medium talent pretending to be great. But now? Now you've crossed the threshold into what most humans call genius."

Aiden looked at him like he was a fool for complaining.

"And not just that—you experienced something most can't even dream of. Core Mutation. Not once, but twice. One after the other, each stronger than the last. Still crying over a stat screen? That's like crying over rotten meat after tasting true cuisine. You have no idea what kind of power you're sitting on now."

Rey blinked, stunned silent by the harsh truth.

"Besides," Aiden added with a smirk, "if someone forms a Core like yours? Even a Tier 0 runt could stand up to Tier 1 monsters. Hell, with yours… you might already be stronger than before."

With that, Aiden turned away, leaving Rey in silence, as he observed the world around him.

The mountain where they stood was now blanketed in dense, swirling mana.

Even the nearby forests and valleys were soaked in it—as if the entire region had been submerged in a mana ocean.

The sky above, once cracked like shattered glass, had seemingly returned to normal.

But Aiden knew better.

The appearance had mended, but the state of the world had changed—mana was now flooding in at a rate and quality never seen before.

That was why he'd chosen this remote place for Rey's core formation.

In the city or surrounding areas, the burst might've attracted… unwanted guests.

Some did come—but the Oblivion Element had dealt with them like a silent guardian.
They were locked deep within Rey's consciousness during the mutation—neutralized without incident.

Rey, meanwhile, looked out at the vast forest and the early sunrise peeking through the trees.

Fresh air filled his lungs, his mind still swirling from the drastic changes. He was just about to inspect his Core again when Aiden called out.

"Kid. Aren't you gonna head home? Your mom must be losing her mind by now."

Rey's relaxed demeanour vanished in an instant.

Panic replaced peace.

"Sh*t!!"

He scrambled to gather his things, stuffing the tent into his inventory, stomping out the campfire base he'd used for the past three days.

Not even caring about the height, he jumped straight off the cliff.

Branches tore at him, rocks scraped his body—but none of it mattered.

He had one goal in mind—Get home as fast as possible.

Three days ago...

When Aiden shattered the earth-bound formation guarding the region from mana, it triggered massive changes—and some people did notice.

A few uninvited guests were drawn in… but left.

Why?

Because the feat they sensed was impossible.

Even the legendary figure residing in that grand imperial mansion—the Blood Emperor—couldn't pull it off.

No human could.
Only gods, perhaps and no one was present for now.

So they chalked it up to a planetary phenomenon.

A natural part of Blue Planet's evolution.

They had no idea the truth lay in the hands of a relic spirit and a boy named Rey.

In just three days, the mana invasion rate had surged to 2.95%—and it was still climbing.
This meant only one thing: A new threat was brewing—and Rey had to get stronger, fast, or the planet would drown in mana.

As he sped through the jungle with ease, he noticed other hunters—martial artists gathering herbs and hunting beasts to earn cash.

Not wanting to be seen, Rey activated his skill, Shadowmeld.

His body vanished into darkness, slipping silently through the underbrush as he moved toward the city wall.

Night still hung over the area.

Some of the guards were alert. Others were nodding off. A few were fast asleep.

Perfect.

He was eager to enter the city unnoticed but maybe that was not in his luck for some time as someone guest stopped his pathway.

Meanwhile… In the Dragon Kingdom's Capital City – Vyraazeth.

In a small, modest room meant for middle-class citizens, a man lay sleeping.

He wasn't extraordinarily handsome—but his features were sharp enough to stand out.

His peaceful sleep soon twisted into discomfort.

His brows furrowed. Sweat beaded. His breath quickened.

As if gripped by a nightmare, his body trembled—until finally, he jolted awake with a gasp.

"—Hah… Hah… Where… where am I?"His hand flew to his throat. Panic filled his eyes.

"I was on the battlefield. In that dungeon… fighting the Minotaur King. I… I won… and then… I was betrayed."He clutched his head as the memories returned.

"My comrades stabbed me in the back. They killed me to steal the rewards…"

He looked around in disbelief.

This place…It was his old room.

But how?

He stood and turned on the light—Then stumbled back in shock.

"No way… This… This is my room. The one I had years ago—before awakening?!"

Panicked, he grabbed his phone and checked the date.
And what he saw shattered everything he thought he knew.

—To Be Continued…

Who is this man?
Is he someone… familiar?
If your gut is telling you yes, maybe it's on to something.
But hey—don't worry. The truth is coming.
The real story is just beginning.
Stay tuned—excitement never ends here.
