Chapter 230.3
Chapter 230.3
A unit led by Welner, then arrived from a different direction a little later from where the transport group (Trap) came from. Using their bullet crossbows, they started shooting at the Farlitz knights who were stuck in the middle of the trap.
The Farlitz knights, who barely managed to escape from the dense concentration of horses, were slammed unilaterally with metal spheres and fell to the ground, before they had time to draw their weapons.
The person that the Farlitz knights thought had fallen asleep from a stomach ache was now knocking them down from a distance. There could not have been a greater humiliation.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” (Farlitz Commander)
“Your Highness!” (Farlitz Soldier)
A knight in high-grade armor from the Farlitz army shouted in anger, drew his sword, and rushed out. Several knights who seemed to be under his command hurriedly followed him. Some of them received direct hits from the iron balls and fell down.
The Bain kingdom army increased the crossbow firing rate, but the attack was not directed at the knights who were rushing toward them. Instead, it was directed at Farlitz knights who were still stuck in the horse trap.
As the remaining three or so Farlitz knights rushed up to the Bain kingdom army’s crossbowmen, Gekke drew his sword from among the Bain kingdom troops and stood in front of the Farlitz knights.
One of the Farlitz knights, who was clad in fine armor, attacked Gekke, but was countered instead, breaking his stance and falling down from his horse.
The other two Farlitz knights came forward from the left and right to protect the Farlitz knight who was knocked out of position by Gekke. However, despite the disadvantage, Gekke did not hesitate to attack both of them at the same time. He avoided the attacks and countered, successfully cutting off his opponent’s wrist.
Without slowing down at all, Gekke turned his body halfway around and thrust his sword sharply into the man on his left. The tip of the sword pierced through the enemy’s back, and blood flowed from the gap in the enemy’s armor where the sword had been pulled out.
The two men on either side were killed quickly, and the knight clad in especially fine armor stood still.
At that moment, Gekke quickly picked the sword one of the enemies was using that had fallen to the ground, and slammed the flat part of the sword down on the helmet of the knight clad in fine armor.
“Gah…” (Farlitz Commander)
It was a blow with only Gekke’s left hand, but Gekke’s physical strength was on a different level. The knight who was struck on the top of his helmet fell down on the spot.
Welner, who had asked Gekke to capture that knight without killing him because he seemed to have a high position, stepped up next to Gekke and called out.
“As expected of Lord Gekke, you are magnificent.” (Welner)
“I have no problem facing an enemy with only this degree of skill.” (Gekke)
Welner shook his head at Gekke who seemed to act as if he had not done much. It did not surprise Welner how Gekke was so calm after knocking down three knights, knowing his skills. He even wondered if Gekke would have survived the stampede even without his help.
But if Welner had asked Gekke about this, Gekke probably would have replied that an opponent who had lost his cool to that extent was simply not so terrifying.
“I can see some interesting things when I accompany Lord Welner, but it’s not very exciting.” (Gekke)
“Personally, I think I’ve had enough of fighting with troublesome enemies.” (Welner)
“You, you people, who do you think I am!” (Farlitz Commander)
Welner checked the battle situation and decided that it was unlikely to change significantly, so he assigned the control of their army to Valcay and continued his conversation with Gekke.
After some time, the enemy knight in fine armor, who had apparently regained consciousness, raised his voice while being restrained.
“I, I am the fourth prince of Farlitz!” (Farlitz Commander)
What do you think?
